I can't stand the NFL used to love it. But I'm a college fan all day everyday I could care less if we even had an NFL. But as a college fan I am so happy to be able to watch more games.
College Football needs to stop putting marque post season games on cable. One of the reasons the NFL is so popular is because they play on network TV (with the exception of Monday/Thursday night now). It's no shocker when looking into the data to see that other than postseason matchups, college footballs most watched games are all on network TV. The National Championship also needs to be on either Friday or Saturday night, not Monday night. Superbowl parties are thing because the majority of people don't work Sunday so they have the time to get together and the game ends at a decent time. Putting your National Championship on cable on Monday night when people have work in the morning and the game doesn't get over until late is foolishness.
College football > NFL. All day everyday. NFL is too political and woke. It’s not a passionate sport anymore, it’s just a businesses. College football could get there, but as of now there’s still more passion and true fan bases.
This is true but the risk is in college football becoming the NFL via conference expansion, transfer portal, NIL and salaried players. AAA farm teams for the NFL and all about MONEY. 😢😮
College football ratings doesn’t or shouldn’t matter to fans! . What are you talking about?. Do you think that recruits would be more interested in showcasing their skills in-front of larger or smaller audiences? Players themselves are brands now that they can get paid. Pretty sure programs that draw higher viewership will be the bigger winners in the years to come as players want eyeballs. In fact, I’d be surprised if recruits aren’t already being told we averaged the 2nd most viewers during the ‘23 season. Just to be clear the top 10 is as follows: Ohio State - 5.55M Alabama - 5.08M Michigan - 4.78M Colorado - 4.50M Georgia - 3.95M Texas - 3.61M Florida State - 3.58M Notre Dame - 3.46M Penn State - 3.31M LSU - 2.85M
Agree with all your points. That being said, I HATE that my Steelers are not only going to be opposite CFP games, but…1.) It’s Steelers/Ravens….which is must watch 2.) My Oregon Ducks will surely get the slot that goes up against that rivalry game. If that does come to fruition…I am gonna hate the CFBPC and the NFL simultaneously that day. One will clearly have be DVRd…it’ll probably be the Steelers/Ravens. As a Steeler fan for 50+ years and a Duck fan for 30+ years…this feels fated to be my hell ☠️☠️☠️😂😂😂
The only thing that will happen is it will increase the sales of big screen TVs because there will be a lot of folks that want to watch all the games at the same time.
I love CFB is standing up to the bullies, but I wish it was on other issues. I do not like the games going head-to-head when there will be other days without games.
Maybe they will finally stop playing the national championship game on a damn Monday! Play it on Saturday like it's supposed to be, and to heck with the NFL wildcard games. Would love to have a watch party but who can party till midnight on a Monday if you have a job.
This isn’t standing up to the NFL. Standing up to the NFL is getting rid of these stupid Monday national championships. Play the championship on Saturday that’s standing up to the NFL.
College football has to play nice with the nfl if they want to be successful. They have a 10 to 1 viewer advantage over cfb and the huge roster turnover with new transfers every year isnt going to help with viewership. Also, once college football stops developing players because they see no point since they transfer anyway, the nfl may just as well start a minor league to develop players which would likely drastically alter what college football looks like
I have bin sayimg this for a longtime why dose MLB make the conf finals game 7 if nec and MLB final game 7 if nec on Sunday to go vs Sunday night football It would stand a good.change
Unpopular opinion here but I wouldn’t try to stand up to the NFL. Using your own example Josh, Ole Miss and Arizona state will have minimal viewership compared to Ravens Steelers. Now imagine if the CFB game was on a Friday, more eyeballs
One hd. Mn tell me " You don't want to go up against College Football". Why do you think NASCAR never schedules events on Saturday. You are NOT going to be at CF.
I'm a College football fan. Don't watch the NFL at all. Looking forward to the colkege playoffs and will watch all those games! College football is undervalued; these head on matchups will prove that. ESPN and other networks will be paying substantially more in the next contracts!!!!
High school has Fridays college has Thur and sat, nfl Sunday and Monday. I would schedule big games on Monday and Sunday if they got out of their lane. I would even threaten to do it if they didn’t revenue share
I love Football ...I will watch the NFL and enjoy the game I am watching...BUT, I live and die college football. I will and do watch OU v Air over an NFL game every second of the day. I will watch Texas (insert most hated team here) play the Sisters of the poor hoping beyond hope they pull the upset. College football is a way of life in the South as you well know. And don't be shocked (which you won't) that a Notre Dame v OU/Tex/FSU type first round game would have just as many eyes or more than say Cleveland v New Orleans NFL game ...
NFL needs to get the crap out of Saturdays. That's what I'm seeing here. They've expanded and tried to takeover too much space in the schedule and now it's time for them to back off. Ha ha ha ha.
NFL is just higher quality football, and the stuff that made college football unique and separated them from the NFL is slowly being eroded away. Ngl I'll probably watch both but NFL will get priority on the largest TV
Josh’s obsession with the NFL lately is weird he always talks about just enjoy what you want and dont care about ratings but is so anti NFL when most college fans watch both
NFL sucks, but college is getting that way. Growing up I saw no dynasties...good team year in year out yes but usually a different Champion, not any more though
Don't you know that college football played right into the hands of the NFL when that playoff committee omitted an undefeated conference power champion for two one loss teams, one of which lost to a 16th ranked team..? The NFL laughs at college football because they showed more amateurism than anyone could have expected this past winter. If college football wanted die hard NFL fans to respect it, FSU would've been in the final 4 this past season. Now college football wants to go head on with the NFL. What fools. What a clown 🤡 show. ESPN and their clown show took a great sport and regressed it some 30 years. And your mental state is so far gone you think you are going head to head with the NFL when you're showing "playoff" games and the NFL is showing regular season games. You know what, maybe the NFL should take after college football. Maybe the NFL should have ESPN get 13 of their people and host a committee on who they think should make their playoffs. What a joke. A selection committee of idiots ruining the game, and who selected them?
Seen parts of games at other places just because it was in their tv; but I Haven’t watched a full NFL in my house on my tv in over 10 years. The NFL is trash now.
I am one of those folks who believes that CFB > NFL; I certainly prefer it over the NFL. I believe they can and will compete strongly (on television) against the NFL. NFL lost me most recently when players started kneeling during the National Anthem, completely disrespectful. Anyway, looking forward to this CFP season!
The NFL puts out an objectively better product. Everyone on the field is a professional. I enjoy college football as well, but the skill and talent level on display on Sundays is vastly superior to what's happening on Saturdays.
@@RA19931999 That first statement is objectively inaccurate, given that it is a subjective statement. You are entitled to your opinion, even though I will disagree. I think it will be interesting to see what happens when there is direct viewership competition between the two. I know what I will be watching. Neither will put the other "out of business", there is room for both.
Down with the shield! Saturdays are for CFB and CFB only!!!
“Down with the shield” is a hell of a rallying cry
Yep
The NFL as always just been something to do on Sunday as I’m nursing a CFB hangover.
I can't stand the NFL used to love it. But I'm a college fan all day everyday I could care less if we even had an NFL. But as a college fan I am so happy to be able to watch more games.
Love College Football could not care less about the NFL
That Patrick Mahomes vs CJ Stroud is gonna be a tough one not to watch. Shame on you NFL 😂
Facts! I only watch NFL because I love football and it’s on. I’d rather watch college ball every day of the week

The beauty of having a multiple monitor setup is I don’t have to choose. That’s gonna be a great Saturday
I do not watch the NFL, but thoroughly enjoy college football. They can take the NFL and stick it.

College football only for me!
I will watch College Football over the NFL every day of the week if possible
Go Utah Utes !!!!!!!!!
Sit on a thumbtack BYU fan
I’ll watch the NCAA 100%
I love this! Fight back. Take saturdays back!
I keep saying MLB should have kept world series vs Sunday night football
@@john-mc4zobaseball has a lot of other problems

The NFL has done everything they can to keep college football lower than them, they’re definitely punching some air rn
They really.are cause normaly that saterday right before chirsmas is the NFL network triple.header

I would think a lot of the problem is due to the availability of NFL stadiums for the big bowl games
There is a back opinion cbs is airing collge basketball that day more then likely a triple header
I wish the nfl and college games happened during different times of the year. Imagine football all year ❤

Heck with the NFL , PERIOD ....
Josh have you seen that the semi finals games are on Thursday and Friday and championship game is on Monday absolutely a disgrace.

Im watching the cfl playoffs and my favorite team is the Texans
College football has become the minor league of the NFL. Might as well just watch the NFL. They’re pros and the product is better.
Can't remember. What was the deal back in the day when January 1 fell on a Sunday? Bowl games on Monday or both college and NFL on Sunday?
