Joel Klatt is 100% right about this, look at the teams schedule that he mentions. Like NC State who lost 2 straight games and gained a spot this week in the rankings. 22 to 21 smh
@Yayrwe You do know that Clemson only beat A&M by two and A&M has finished closer to Bama in that game than any other team right? The 3rd team that beat them was MS State who has the best defense in the nation and lost to FL, Kentucky, and LSU......
@Yayrwe Im rewarding tough SOS. warrennolan.com/football/2018/sos# This is the SOS based off of W/L to date. Clemson and NC State are up there. The rest of the ACC is not. So Clemson cant afford a loss to one of those teams. But look at the SEC.....All of those teams(minus Bama) ARE up there. So a loss is more forgiving. Clemson and NC St can be afforded a loss. The rest of the ACC CANNOT. They play easy schedules and should win more. A good loss can be better than a bad win. ND barely escaped Vandy....thats a bad win. UCF has NO quality wins and is undefeated. Im not rewarding a team for beating nobodies when another barely loses to a powerhouse.
As a Virginia Tech (ACC) fan, I agree with Klatt. Wisconsin and Michigan State would demolish NC State, Virginia, Syracuse and Boston College. The ACC is by far the weakest conference, followed closely by Pac-12.
As a Miami fan, I agree with you about 95%. But it's our two teams plus F$U that are holding the conference down. UVA, Cuse, BC(along with Clemson obviously) are doing their part to keep the conference relevant. Noles, Canes, Hokes gotta step up. Miami vs LSU/Wisconsin, VT vs ND, F$U ever since the Bama game last year.
Joel is 100% correct: after the top 5 or 6 the rankings are insanely dumb. There are so many things that make no sense, even at the very bottom of the top 25. How do you have 5-3 Iowa State in?? How do you have Fresno State in, but not Utah State??
to be fair Fresno State is better than Utah State in almost every metric and Utah State has no Power 5 wins. But you're right that most of the rankings are off
I agree with the insanely dumb things Joel Klatt mentions, but I noticed it on his list and now here. I don't see how Iowa State being #24 is overvalued at all. They shouldn't be higher for sure, but #24 seems like a fair spot to me. I'm going to guess most people don't pay attention to us so I will enlighten: Iowa State is 4-3. We have 3 losses, to #7 Oklahoma, #16 Iowa, and an unranked TCU. All 3 of them were close and in doubt in the 4th quarter. TCU was kinda a stinker game but we hadn't played Brock Purdy yet (we hadn't for all 3 of them actually). We also crushed #13 West Virginia who was #5 at the time and Will Grier had heisman hype around him. We won at Oklahoma State who just got done beating Texas, and we beat Texas Tech who crushed Oklahoma State. Now I agree that TCU is a really bad look, but you can't overlook the fact we destroyed a high ranked WVU team, and took down two higher quality big 12 teams that would be ranked if it weren't for us beating them. Our other losses aren't bad at all, and I don't see a reason #24 isn't a good option for us. I do believe there are teams below us that probably should be ahead...but I also think we should be ahead of a lot of those ACC teams as well so it balances out lol.

I agree with Klatt's argument. If the top 4 start destroying each other aka LSU v. BAMA and there are more one loss teams then the argument becomes that ACC would have the in over Michigan based on the other teams that are ranked.

I don't think he's playing dumb, he seems to just have no awareness of what the committee is doing. In his mind the committee will do what it obviously should if Michigan finishes 12-1. Not putting 12-1 Michigan into the playoff is ridiculous so he's completely dismissing it as a possibility and as a result is just ignoring what the committee's doing with the bottom of the rankings, which is setting it up so that if Clemson or Alabama drops a game they can justify keeping them in the top 4 over Michigan and to a lesser extent Oklahoma (Oklahoma would finish the year with a clearly better resume than 1 loss Clemson or Alabama but definitely not as good as Michigan's).

Klatts reasoning is starting to make me wonder where his agenda is. Just last year he pumped up OSU saying how it doesn't matter that they lost horribly to Iowa because they won the big ten and since Alabama lost a close rivalry game to a really good auburn team that OSU has more of a right to a playoff spot than Bama? Conference champions are 1 of the biggest hoaxes in college football because the 2 best teams a lot of the time play in the same division so that game is rarely best on best. Jumping to 2018 Alabama is going undefeated so that takes out LSU and Georgia from the playoff picture so explain to me how Michigan at 12-1 will miss?
andre jamison Last year Bama didn't win the SEC West. UCF beat the SEC West champs last year. Conference champ should get in over a team that doesn't win its division. Auburn should have gotten in over Bama last year
I’m Alone At least they were division champs. I agree this playoff is making it easy for Bama to have a shot at the national title big 10 champ should get in over a non division winner if this system was around in the 80s and 90s Bobby Bowden would have 12 national titles
Alabama hasn’t played a true road game in about 10 years. All their non conference games are either home or neutral site. Plus they don’t even have to win their conference or even their division because the system always gives the SEC 2 teams on benefit of the doubt. That benefit of the doubt would have been handy for that JT Barret-Joey Bosa-Ezekiel Elliot defending champion team that got left out of the playoff a few years ago.
Alabama's SEC opponents are 2-16 in the SEC. Their non conference opponents are 10-14. Why are they ranked number one? There is no way their strength of schedule is better than Clemson and Notre Dame.

Jumping to 2018 Alabama is going undefeated so that takes out LSU and Georgia from the playoff picture so explain to me how Michigan at 12-1 will miss?
andre jamison
Last year Bama didn't win the SEC West. UCF beat the SEC West champs last year. Conference champ should get in over a team that doesn't win its division. Auburn should have gotten in over Bama last year
@@user-zt4yk1sm8y but they lost to georgia its they're own fault for choking
@@user-zt4yk1sm8y they were west division champs not conference. The lost to uga
I’m Alone
At least they were division champs.
I agree this playoff is making it easy for Bama to have a shot at the national title big 10 champ should get in over a non division winner if this system was around in the 80s and 90s Bobby Bowden would have 12 national titles
@cacable7 - It was 12 points. That's two scores.
We love Lincoln Far to much for anyone to come get him.
“Facts don’t care about your feelings”
Is Joel Klatt Ben Shapiro??????
Welcome to 1990 with that awesome Cindy Crawford reference.
Colin is just so unintelligent it is mind numbing, he is a walking contradiction. I only watch for Klatt he should move to espn.
Klatt and Gus should have their own studio show during the week.
I always watch the Syracuse Clemson game lol i like when their coach does the lockeroom chant
Joel Klatt is like college footballs ben shapiro
Joel Klatt straight up dropping "Facts don't care about your feelings" XD Love it. Favorite analyst/commentator by far.
Y’all say Alabama got a weak schedule at least they play auburn and LSU in conference Clemson plays FSU and NC state
Both Clemson and Bama have overrated schedules
тим Clemson way worse tho
But Clemson can actually beat bama in the playoffs unlike the other teams you names
@@winstonlewis5630 true but Bama out if conference....
I love when Klatt comes on the show. Him and Colin go at it but in a good way. Klatts face got so red :D:D
Alabama's SEC opponents are 2-16 in the SEC. Their non conference opponents are 10-14. Why are they ranked number one? There is no way their strength of schedule is better than Clemson and Notre Dame.
Facts don't apply to Alabama
Alabama is like Michael Jordan back in the day, he was allowed 3 steps before his dunks becau$e, becau$e, heck I don't recall why that wa$.
joecage13 because they win like every year
@@lonzoballthegoat You mean cause they play a soft schedule all year. Then they can get embarrassed and still get in.
@@damianpresha9578 Name an SEC team that doesn't schedule cupcakes and are in the top 5 every other year.
You guys are priceless
Thank gawd for people like Joel klatt the acc love was RIDICULOUS NC state vastly overrated Syracuse same Colin doesn’t actually watch these games Clemson was a one dimensional offense agaisnt Syracuse etienne had a 200 yard game the back up qb had freakin 80 yards they ran all over em even with a loaded box
LOVE FOR KLATT
LOOK AT JOY TAYLOR!! Jesus she is so cold 😍
she's bad
Joel klatt is the most legit, unbiased person in media/CFB!
Lincoln Riley is not going to the NFL and there will not be two SEC teams in the playoffs this year
At 5:25 Colin's voice had me dying. 😂😂
Who actually cares about 20-25????
Andrew Leftwich because the higher teams who beats lower ranked teams get more love than higher ranked teams beating non ranked teams
Andrew Leftwich it’s just pretty mediocre tbh
Just give Joel a show, he mops the floor with everyone.
Acc i been watching and they trash.. Telling you its $$ in the end.
JOY!!! DAMN!!!!!!
Syracuse would beat Michigan state
John Ambriz facts. You can tell Klatt only watched big 10 and 12 games. He said that Syracuse doesn’t have a better qb than Michigan st lmao
@@Devastatiing when did he say that?
9Alpha9 RSufyan he said that Michigan St qb was better
Syracuse has 2 good qbs.
ACC is trash. Please stop it. It’s Clemson and a bunch of garbage.
Joell Klatt is the man !
Klatt is such an overrated analyst. I'm not says he's bad, but I'm saying he isn't great.
Billybobjoemartha bhahahahahahaahhahaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaa
No, you just disagree with him. He's an awesome analyst. And it's mostly because I agree with him, or he makes points that I didn't think of.
If Joel Klatt had a show 24/7 I’d watch!
Joel Klatt spitting facts
Absolutely love Colin and joel talking together lol, love the show!! Start talking about the Detroit look s because they are the Super Bowl undergoes about to come out of thing air and destroy everyone. #ONEPRIDE
Your always going to get fireworks when you have Joel Klatt & Colin Cowherd in the same segment, they should have Joel on more & talk more NFL as well as College Ball.
lmao joel with the shapiro quote. love it
I love Joel Klatt
I gotta book!!!
"My wife is like Alabama: BOOM, #1"
that's the sweetest thing I've ever heard in a football talkshow.
I'm here for Klatt
I would have to agree with Joel on this one
Daddy Klatt speaking facts per usual
I love how they can argue about almost every team but still have a good time. You can tell they both love their jobs.
Joel is right. It might not seem important now, but the back end of the rankings will have a huge affect at the end of the year when they're comparing teams.
