I like this channel, you just fix stuff and not waffle on. I just watch yourself and “Northbridge Fix”. I have used your tear downs in the past, which have been good. Keep up the good work. :)

Good channel! I'll be following you keep up!
I would like to ask you a question since i found you while searching for a fix to the problem i actually have... Imac intel 21.5".. No back light is the second problem and the first problem is fan spinning at full speed.... Speaking about The back ligh problem, i have dome doubts :
-Power supply is delivering 11,75v to the board and the back light wires, when it turns on the 11,75v drop to 10v is it normal?
-backlight_en is 2.9v, and backlight_pwr is 2.9v, are those signals low? I tried using to powersupply to supply 3.3v on bkl_en but no results
-i have image on the screen so its not the gpu i assume (or can it be fixed by reflowing the gpu?)
    -tried different screen.. Same
What is troubling me is that i dont have another imac to test at the moment so i can't know if its a power supply broplem or inverter or gpu or motherboard problem, i have, is the voltage drop from 11.75v to 10v normal? I tried to use the psu to turn on the motherboard and my psu show 12v but when i test with multimeter i get 10-9v and my psu is good,..
    Any idea is welcome...

@@PowerbookMedic well, i reflowed the GPU 2 times and no results, you know, first time i did not heat for long just to see if is will fix the problem, and second time i reflowed like i always do, but still picture but no backlight.

adel saidi I believe on that model there is a part called an inverted board that powers the backlight. It is separate from the power supply. You may want to check that out.

@@PowerbookMedic the inverter is supplying 10v to the Backlight LEDs. The Backlight en signal is reaching the inverter 2.9v as well as 2.9v for bklt_pwr

Great video thanks! Do you ever use an oscilloscope? I’m not sure if I’ll need one for these type of repairs?

Mario Yiannakou Thanks! No, I don’t use one. It can be useful but not a necessity to do the repairs.

I've been watching Louis Rossman and Jessa Jones for a while now, and I stumbled upon your video on reading MacBook Schematics. I'm trying to learn how to read schematics. It seemed so daunting at first, but I feel like I'm getting much of it already. The lines really confuse me.
I was reading the iPhone 4S schematics, and there's so many lines. I know about the dot telling that two lines are connected. If there's no dot, then the lines are not connected. Can you please make a video on how to make sense of the zillions of lines in a single schematics. E.g. The sequence. P.S. You might've already made a video on lines, but I decided to leave the request, anyway. Thank you for making videos!
