Thank you Zoe for this great tutorial. I just used your owl tutorial to make a little owl topper and I'm going to be using your tree stump tutorial to sit her on. Thank You!
I want to make a cake to my friend's birthday. She is studying forestry and the natural environment and she loves owls. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Miss Zoe This is just what I needed. My sister is making a woodland cake for her daughter's country wedding. She wants a bide and groom owl on the top this will be super. Thank you so much Mary MacDonald
me ayudó mucho tu video para el pastel de cumpleaños de mi hija, gracias por compartir tus creaciones, eres fabulosa, todos tus videos son una maravilla.
I made it out of rice crispies as base then fondant over the treat. It isn't quite as cute as yours but I'm pretty pleased with it. It is going on top of a small bundt cake. Thanks so much for the turtorial
zoes excelente tutoriales. feliciraciones. No entiendo mucho el ingles pero e aprendido mucho viéndote. Si hubiera la forma de que estubiese subtitulada al español nos llenaria de mucha alegria a nuestra comunidad latina. gracias por compartir tus conocimientos
This is so adorable!!! I love your videos, they are very helpful, thank you so much!!!! I want to try this for my daughters birthday cake, she'll be turning 3 on Christmas Eve. I just have a couple questions, do you think this could also work with modeling candy? And, how far in advance can I make it? Thanks in advance!!
this one is gorgeous - Olly has a stuffed Owl which he's had since tiny so I think this will be my first project. Im curious if you get the fondant already coloured or do you dye it yourself and buy it white? What do you recommend? Thanks for this tutorial I love it! xx
Love it! I need to make a baby chick hatching out of an egg topper for my granddaughters 1st bday. Could this be easily modified to look like a baby chick?
Beautiful owl......i want to use this idea to make a owl cake. I was thinking to frost the cake and put fondant pieces directly on it as no one will be able to see the base anyways...do u think that would work or should i cover the whole owl with fondant and than put the pieces on it. Any suggestions?
I just made a modified version of this for my Granddaughter’s 1st b’day. Instead of an owl though, I made a baby chick. I so wish I could post a pic of it!
Where did you get those hole punchers? And do they have an official name so I can Google them? I loooove this owl! I'm going to use your technique to make one out of clay!!!
The best site to buy them very cheaply is called "Light in the Box". You can buy any shape in a set of 4. Most other sites these little plunge cutters cost a fortune individually or as a set. I stumbled on this site and was blown away at how cheap their fondant and gumpaste cutters and tools are.
+Zoes Fancy Cakes. Each step you made was totally clear, your verbal instructions were great too, just seeing the owl upon applying them was a tad awkward that's all, but no biggy....your teaching is great! \(OvO)/

Very nice little owl! Using pink, brown and white reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream. That's why I would call it a Neapolitan owl. 😉

Thanks Zoe, I used your tutorial to make a graduation Feathered owl graduation cake with a black gown and a mortar board hat. Thank you for your help.

Ty I am going to try making the owl
Is there a list of tools and quantities for all the colored fondant needed? I've never made fondant. Can the finished owl be kept indefinitely?

wonderful work but I'm curious, I've heard that fondant isn't the tastiest thing to eat. Idk if it's true or not.
it's just down to opinion really. It get's very sickly when you eat too much :D
