Yes crazy that with dorans shield and second wind you can survive... Not really. It's kind of why Swain isn't really the bully he used to be versus melee mid laners, they just outsustain this way and then you have no mana when it comes to the actual fight.
Without doran shield and second wind nobody would play melee/assassin champ in mdilane. Even then those champion arent played that often in pro play (exept Sylas) because you can abuse range advantage too much How many time did you see Azir versus Orianna in pro play ? Its highly probable that Caps is a better player than Husum and know how to play those melee champ safely more than Husum knows how to poke those melee champion. (Its nearly a given if you lane Faker on the regular) I dont think he has a lot of experience against the swain matchup tho, because that champion wasnt played at all in pro play
@@brianmabon4703 those should only help akali survive. she stil would need to dodge in a balanced game. range does less dmg but can poke thats the whole equasion. Akali has the highest regen so this isnt a meele vs swain problem its an akali problem
i know its possible to experience a desync with your character's position, but idk if that's what happens here ive only ever seen it happen when getting body blocked by minions and your character starts drifting

Man, akali is such an unskilled champion. It's impossible to punish her out of lane because Riot made her base health regen amongst the highest in the game along with Vi, and half her combo level 6 is so easy to land it might as well be point and click. Hate that champ and i have 0 respect for people who play it.
When do you go for tear? Against tanky teams (cho, akali, tahm) where fights will be really long and mana might be an issue, or is this for akali burst to build a defensive item?
Tear gives someone who sometimes struggles with mana conservativation like swain more longevity in lane. It's pretty good in general the increased early game mana enables you to do a lot more freely. W your bot or top lane, use it for sight in jungle, roam into jungle to see if there are any honey fruits so you can restock after a bad trade after pushing wave into tower.

Not gonna lie. The fimbul build is the tankiest swain has been. Not saying I like it over having like Roa but holy hell the fat HP bar and never dying is telling.
Pretty epic that you're laning vs one of the best EU players of all time. I think early on when he had the freeze and you were low and oom you should just take the hit and base. I think basing is not that bad in the new season cuz we have homeguards early on. Just take the base, come back with mana and hp and break his freeze.
Me when akali win earlygame doing absolutely nothing, just because dshield + second wind + high regen mean poke mean nothing and you lose since you take minion agro.
