This video is symbolic to the song. Pay attention to the lyrics. 3.3O being the average RADIO song. If you want to conform to mainstream media, making your song fit that 3:30 time will make it easier for them (the radio) to play you. I'm not as good as genius.com at explaining lyrics. The entire song is a satire on how we treat media consumption. +geminirising was totally on target with comparing this to Instagram culture. We are a society obsessed with image and this song perfectly captures how we are a "slave to the radio" to whats new and shiny. Then after we've had our fill we move on to the next machine. "slave to the radio, wait till they forget you though"

This song is 3.30 min long. Awesome song SE. Slave to the radio. Gone are the days of songs that last longer. That's forbidden now. The thing is, there is some music out there that runs way longer than 3.30 min that are the best songs I've ever heard and were even played on the radio decades ago; but not these days, no. Oh, and if your music videos don't have sex, drugs, scantily dressed, beautiful women, forget about it. Creativity cannot flow through restrictions, and unfortunately the world has jumped on this bandwagon, not realizing they have becomes slaves to the system. Some of the best songs of all time were never played.

BUT:
The version from your Echo Mountain Session is so, so much better.
And honestly I'm glad it is. The fact y'all are so unnaturally good in a live session that it makes the recorded version sound worse by comparison kind of highlights the fact you all are truly great at what you do, and aren't in it to get rich. The fun part sounds better than the monetized part.

I love this song. I don't know what this video has to do with it. I think Sylvan Esso producers could have done way better. This was flashy, but basic. I've enjoyed your previous videos before, but I can't connect this one to the artist or the music. That said, it was pretty well filmed, and beautiful in a way (Some shots were nice, the girls are pretty). But the concept was lacking.
Was a huge fan of what they were doing on their first ablum cycle but ive been forcing myself to be excited for the new one and this doesnt help. sad to see a band lose their identity, tunes are still strong tho
