Blackrock Caverns is the first 5-man instance in Cataclysm and as of the current state of the beta, one of only two which is functional. This is a full run through with a 5 man group, of this dungeon, showing you all 5 bosses, strats and a litter of puppies (no seriously).

@dylanseymour Mild trouble was only because we'd never seen it before. Bear in mind, you can get ICC level gear from basic questing in Cata, it's an entire reset across the board.

@pimpin111 Sounds similar to the Wrath launch. I didnt replace T6 until around lv78, some even retained until heroics. So I'd imagine that ICC Heroic loot will factor out around lv83/84 with some of items not being replaced until into heroics.
It's good that they've kept this in place, the amounts of complaints they recieved at the start of TBC....
@Squish888 When he said "long" at 35 mins I was surprised. I mean did he want a 15 min 5 boss instance? That is what I got from his comment. I don't mind long instances if they are fun and don't SEEM long.
I have a strong feeling they'll make an achievement out of the second boss battle where you don't interrupt/kill the adds.

@wattr508 Boring, easy 5-man content that you have to repeat on a daily basis for badges is bad for everyone, simple as that.

you dont have to kill the puppies, pop out your core hound pup and pretend they are alive.
you dont have to cast slow if you are speced the right way in arcane if you are speced the right way it should auto cast when you hit your enemies with arcane blast

@facerebel That's because it's an expansion. So by that logic you shouldn't bother with loot in Cata, since it will become obsolete in the next expansion.

@Sgurd People that don't play beta shouldn't open their mouth on such things, lest they look stupid, lots of things have changed, including the fact that Might and Wisdom are now a merged buff and arcane has significantly changed. No point applying Wrath logic to Cataclysm because it doesn't work.
@polojine Rofl, yeah it's some kind of conspiracy, let's ignore the fact that 99% of the new content in Cataclysm is PvE and PvPers would just bitch if I put up a video of Twin Peaks anyway, since they would rather nitpick playstyle than look at the content.

@AyumiFortunex May I make a suggestion. If you're not in the beta, don't make stupid assumptions. For instance, complaining about lack of dps when pre-made characters come with no gems, enchants or glyphs and half the talents are broken. Complaining about Blessing of Might when in Cataclysm, Blessing of Might and Blessing of Wisdom are the same ability. Complaining about bars when addons are disabled in the beta.
Not surprise to see sperging but really, chill the fuck out everybody.

@NeoTodesklingel No sorry, playing badly with bad people doesn't make instances hard, it makes your group terrible. If you play with randoms, expect to lose, a lot. Don't expect instances to be tuned to such a low baseline. Cataclysm is giving you an awful lot more reasons to be in a guild and if you aren't, you're not playing as intended and should not be catered to directly.
I really like the energy the guy making this video has, enjoyed it.
@Bonestormlol Nope, Might and Wisdom are the same buff now. You might want to consider that people playing the beta know a lot more about the beta than you do, before hammering out your comments.

@Joshualicious2 Don't base anything on my casting rotation there. I'm trying out different stuff because arcane does not work the same in Cataclysm.
@Dcavolli I like the fact that casuals think you have to be in a 'serious nerd guild'. You know how easy it is to form a guild? Find 9 decent people, create, done. Man, all these people who came in late to the game have no idea what they're doing, somehow believing that pugging has ever been the proper way to do anything.
But yeah, apparently not sucking makes me an elitist. Having a proper group for a game based on grouping, makes me an elitist. Yeah whatever, l2p.
@Xynthiaeu You got keylogged, your account has been stolen. I would suggest you call customer service, they're pretty good about getting things restored.
@draakgast It's a pre-made beta character, I threw some stuff on my hotbar that would let me get basic functionality and that was that. I wasn't too concerned about having absolutely everything I could possibly need in every situation, I needed to get the video done as quickly as possible. That and it's a pain in the ass not having Bartender4 :
@lifeiscomplexing Beta premades have no glyphs, enchants or gems. Also the 3% arcane damage ability we used to get is now a talent and the talent is broken (ie. impossible to learn it), so overall damage is lower as a result of all of that. I'm sure if I could get all enchanted/gemmed/glyphed up again it would be back to normally, maybe a little higher due to some talent changes.
@djuz3 This is not true at all. Dungeon heroics are exactly the same, raids have hard-modes but they can be toggled on a boss-by-boss basis (not all details have been revealed yet)
@Xynthiaeu Calling them is the best option, they have staff on hand that can deal with compromised accounts. Calling them is usually the best way to start the process off.
@wimpywarrior Might and Wisdom are now one merged buff. I know, I flipped out on our pally for a second too before I noticed :P
@XxVIPERxX666 Premades have full ICC level gear (Which you will replace immediately with Hyjal gtreens). Cataclysm is a full gear reset across the board.
@snarkamedes If you offtank those adds, you get a major stacking healing debuff and you'll become unhealable, so it seems fairly unlikely.
@boneskillerrr Mastery powers up your talent-spec specific 'masteries' which very on a tree by tree basis. An example of one of them is Flashburn, which is like a double-ignite for fire mages. The Mastery talent will power that up.
@Blink182isPimp Premade characters can be copied over to the Beta realms which are all level 80 in ICC gear, for testing purposes.
@shadowscorp12 I would imagine pro groups will quickly master this. This was our first run in there so none of us really knew what to expect. Bear in mind that this is normal mode, so as long as Heroic mode is TBC level of difficulty as opposed to Wrath, good groups will find challenges there.

@amsn94 They're bringing out new heirlooms that work from 80-85, though I don't honestly see the point of using them.
@Paddis92 Something I should have mentioned. In Cataclysm, BoM and BoW are the same buff, they merged them.
@Mike190 80-85 is around the same length as 70-80, Kat Hunter confirmed that recently.

@Beamster420 I didn't play Vanilla myself, but I have heard good facts about it and for me even TBC matched my skills. ((PvE)) Wotlk is far too easy :(
I won't stop playing because of the easyness though. I want to do those achievements :P

It'll be difficult to bring the difficulty back though, because of the high health pools, the damage of the bosses needs to be really high as well, which brings casters into a really interesting situation.
@ir8prim8 those little children cry for even Wotlk being "too hard"... But well, blizzard said, they want to bring back the difficulty of Vanilla WoW. (in Cataclysm)
But yea, I have seen posts, which say Wotlk is too hard, even though we all know, that Wotlk's instances are ridiculously easy. From 5-mans Halls of Reflection being easier than the easiest heroic in TBC :P

damn, 5,000 experience. Granted its a new expansion, but still thats alot. Hey TotalHalibut, whats the experience needed for each level like?
I like how mobs and especially bosses have lots of health now. It takes some time to actually kill a boss, he doesnt go down in 10-15 seconds like in Wotlk, it more similar to raid bosses now.
This looks a lot better than many of the wotlk instances, cause they were just so easy. Reminds me of the vanilla instances, where you really had to stop and think what you're doing, and also, this much longer dungeon than any of the wotlk things. :D
@hollow44771 It's easy. First, you walk up to a mob, staying within max range of your bow(or gun, if your a dwarf). Next, fire an arrow(or bullet). The mob will come to you. Run for a time, keeping them within range of your bow(or gun). Fire an arrow (or bullet) at the mob every few steps to keep them on you. Turn off your bow(or gun) while running. Wash, rinse, repeat, and adjust as necessary.

just tell me... exactly WHAT is difficult there? you pick 2-3 mobgroups and bomb them til they're dead.
and you can do this with blue equipment, so... whats difficult in utgarde (heroic)?

if you notice, during tht fight when the pally healer WAS spam healing....look how much mana he DIDNT lose, i love my pally now. Also sucks cause now all the people who are used to easy Wotlk instances will come in here and wipe everyone. Theres alrdy at least 1 dumbass in every random, and they wiped people in Wotlk?? this is gonna be aweful, one Dk who signed up as tank didnt know what a tank was. He literally asked us what to do as a tank because he pwr lvled to 80....
@flamefightr0 straffing is moving sideways with your "Q and E" keyboard buttons in default interface...variations of that also exist in pve (used for kitting) and pvp(usually by better than your average player).
kitting started as a hunter thing in vanilla wow and it consisted of straffing(or simple running)->jump->mouse turn->shoot from the air...abilities used were ofcourse instants: dps ones+ slowing and movement imparing abilities.
i also miss kitting so i'm glad it's back.
WE NEED GNOME PALADINS! They've lived alongside the dwarves and humans for a long time, they are already priests now and Alliance only has 3 pally class/race combos, whereas Horde has 4 Shaman class/race combos! Also Horde has 45 race/class combos in all, and Alliance has 44! DID I MENTION THAT GNOMES ONLY HAVE 6 CLASSES!? Everyone else has 7 or 8 choices! Even Goblins and Worgens start out with 8 class choices!

@TotalHalibut i think badges were a good implementation, but were abused... its like "oh we got this new feature nobody would use, but if we reward them 2 emblems a day, they'll have to do it!"
imo, badges are for the people who weren't lucky enough to win rolls in raids. sure raids have many ways of distributing loots but not every guild is DKP.
if you get shit like loot council, pug ninjas, or just random bad luck, you're on the losing side... emblems sorta make up for it...
Totalbiscuit, have you tried this 5 man since the latest beta build? I know that most tanks, except maybe druid tanks, definitely cannot stand the punishment they could before the talent change. I did this on my Paladin in mostly 264 gear and got absolutely destroyed in seconds by the boss with the Evolved Drakanoids if more than 1 was released at a time. Was also curious to know if they have more hitpoints now then when you ran it for this video. The bosses currently have 2.2 million life.
Where is the blackwing lair I'm spacing out atm and forgot. Also those were very nice caster trinks and very nice tank trink at the very end. This is one reason why I stopped raiding awhile back besides the horde side of my realm, Stormrage, completely sucking at organization but I knew all my hard work would amount to nothing but high repair bills lol. What level did you say these drops were at?
