Hi! I was looking for a good pad Thai recipe. Excited to try this out tomorrow. P.s. The fact that you're incredibly beautiful, was an added bonus to finding the recipe. Thank you!
Hi thank you for sharing yr lovely recipes . i wld like to know if you cant get d palm sugar can u use brown sugar and is there a difference in d taste and also fish sauce can be substituted with what other sauce to get d salty taste? Thank you again for sharing. God bless
Thank you for sharing all the yummy Asian dishes with us. I am from Cambodia, and background and culture is very similar to yours. You are one inspiring woman that I look up to in the social media world.
I had thai for the first time about a week ago (Pad woon sen with chicken) and immediately wanted to learn all about thai cooking and want to try more. It is amazing. I've been practicing at home and watched tons of videos. I always come back to yours to adopt and want to let you know how much I appreciate you for taking the time and sharing what you've learned. So eternally grateful. Thank you.
Pailin is my favourite youtube chef (and youtube persona) ever. She eloquently explains the ingredients and steps, and she takes into consideration people who are not exposed to Southeast Asian cooking previously. Even as an Asian, I learn a lot from her vids. If you're not subscribed to her, what are you waiting for tbh
I made this Pad Thai for lunch today and loved it. With all of your recipes, we don't have to and we don't want to go out to Thai restaurants any more!
My parents have never had Thai before, but I swore to them that they'd love it if I made them this. They adored it, and absolutely begged me for the recipe. The best DIY Pad Thai recipe I've found on the internet. Thanks so much!
I’ve been to Thailand this summer and ever since I’ve been obsessed with Thai/asian cooking. This channel is amazing and my parents love all the asian dishes I make. They are gonna buy me my first work for my birthday :D
i love how you also educate the viewers about the ingredients and methods of cooking! i usually skip long cooking videos but i find myself glued to yours because of the learning parts:) thank you for taking the time to share these helpful info!
I actually love the way you demonstrate each and every part of all your recipes so that it becomes clear for us otherwise in other recipes the chefs usually keep on making the recipe and just telling what to add.
I love how much time you took to thoroughly explain most of the "unfamiliar ingredients", as you call it, in detail. Really informational and helpful! Thank you for sharing, as always.
I tried your recipe. I taste my food for seasoning during the cooking process. I expected it to be good. What I didn't expect was how balanced the flavor was. It is the best pad thai I made. Your recipe is a success.
I'm fairly new to your channel. What I really appreciate about you is that you explain why the ingredients are used and when, what is happening when you do this and that, and what the purpose of all those steps are!!! :) You give your audience more than just the 1,2,3. Keep up the great job! :) Thank you! : )
Thai Food - is one of the finest cuisine and I am a great fan of Thai food. Thanks for such a great site. I bought many books and watched many videos. This probably the best and easy to go vdo instruction. Thanks palin.
There’s a few videos on here about Pad Thai and you are the only one that talked about buying the correct radish. And I thought about you yesterday when I went to go buy it and I actually bought the same brand that you showed. So thank you for all the tips! It looks so delicious the way you plated it.💕💕💕
I just made this and it was super good. Although I could not find preserved radish, dried shrimp and my ingredient list took me to several stores AND I ran out of eggs at the time of cooking, it was so worth it. It shouldn't be hard to manipulate the recipe for a vegetarian option, or beef/chicken instead of shrimp, added veggies, etc. Thank you for this tutorial and your other wonderful videos!!
This is delicious. eating it as I write this. I used the shrimp paste from your variation of pad thai video and I didn't have the pickled daicon or dried shrimp but the dish was still delish without it. I found that the measurements for the sauce was good enough for 6oz of dried noodles. enough for two very hungry people. Thanks so much for sharing. Absolutely love it!!
Thank you! I have tried this recipe and it's sooo good. I use small rice noodle but it works.Reminds me on delicious Phad Thai behind my office in Bangkok. Thank you, khun Pai
hey pailin i made this and it's delicious. everyone at my family was impressed.. below are some tips on how to cook the noodles without soaking it overnight and how to alter the sauce if you don't like beansprouts and garlic chives. Pailin was right in that the flavor is very concentrated without the beansprouts,so I used less tamarind paste (3 tablespoons instead of 4) and less preserved radish (2 tablespoons instead of 4). the reason for less of those is because without the beansprouts to increase the surface area of the dish and distribute the flavor, it becomes overwhelming. also, if you don't have time to soak your noodles overnight (say, you just realized you wanted to make it right now), soak the noodles in boiling water in a BOWL over the counter (not on the stove top) and let it sit for around 8-10 minutes until it feels "al dente." if you do this, make sure you don't add water in the palm sugar step, or use at max 1 tablespoon of water (i didn't heat my palm sugar, instead i just let it dissolve in the tamarind and fish sauce naturally).
Made this for the 3rd time tonight. OMG, it is just divine. The perfect Pad Thai recipe. Even my teenage son loves it, and that is quite something as he is such a food critic. This time I used the green ends of scallions instead of garlic chives as I got to my local Thai shop half hour before opening time and couldn't hang about. I can say that there is no noticeable difference, it is just as good with scallion ends as with garlic chives.
Dear Pailin, I've always loved Thai food, but never felt capable of cooking it myself. Thanks to your show, thai food is a now regular at home. Thank you for bringing us this marvellous dishes in such a pedagogic way. Love to watch it. Question: as I cannot find the preserved daikon raddish, I use fresh radish. Does it change the recipe? Deep thanks for your work!!
Hi Pai! The first time I've made Pad Thai was with your original recipe, and it came out fantastic. I'm so thrilled that you've decided to update this - it looks so delicious, especially in HD! The way you present Thai food is just wonderful - it makes cooking so much more fun and educational, especially with your personality!
I was skeptical whether I'd done it right because it looked so much paler than what I've ordered, but soon as I took that first bite... wow! My house reeks of fish sauce, my iPad is covered in oil splatter, but my 5 year old proclaimed it the best pad thai in the world. High praise as she's quite the connoisseur. Thanks for demystifying another pile of Thai ingredients and walking me through this amazing recipe!
I love your videos. Your method of cooking is so simple and amazing. I find myself glued to your videos. Will always view them whenever I felt like cooking Thai food.
I always worried about being long winded with my cooking videos but I feel that I would prefer to hear "why" something is used and when to use it. Seeing all the "Tasty" videos discouraged me a bit because I figured all people wanted to see was short 1 minute recipes but this channel has reignited my love for the explanations!
Your videos are fantastic! You present things in a orderly, precise, understandable manner. And the fact that you are gorgeous with a personality to match is a plus.
This is brilliant! I love how you go so much in detail about all the ingredients and such. I did some research on Pad thai a few years back from various sources, but your video just has it all and has been a great revision for me! Also, I LOVE your smile :D Thank you for sharing this!
TFS!!! My sons and I really love pad thai!!! Your video was a great watch or us and we learnt a good deal about the ingredients etc... You present information in a very organized and clear way.. I love your kitchen and must say you have a very pleasant personality! Please do show how to make thai steamed white rice as well, restaurant style... I tried using Jasmine rice but it didn't taste anything like what we get from thai restaurants.
I've attempted Pad Thai before to pretty bad results. This was a super helpful video and really tasty dish. Had a great time going to Ranch 99 with my 6 year old and finding all the ingredients and watching the how to vid while we cooked it up. The whole fam loved it. Looking forward to trying the variations. Thanks Pailin!
I cooked this for the first time last night, for company. I had to double the recipe, substitute apple cider vinegar/brown sugar for the tamarind, and deal with unruly noodles but it turned out very good. I will be cooking this again.
Well done! Especially on your first time. I also like to add cilantro and the juice of one lime towards the end, along with the bean sprouts, peanuts, etc. And as always, served with a sliced lime.
I find your presentation ist so perfekt, I love to watch it. Perfectly explained. There ist no mistake remaining, which I can do. I was twice in Thailand and I am so happy, now I can cook this delicios dishes at home. Vielen Dank aus Deutschland.
Its quite difficult to find a good and 'cheap' tamarind paste outside Thailand, so instead, I use vinegar, fish sauce and sugar whenever I cook Pad Thai. I learned it from a Thai lady back in Pattaya and the taste is quite similar with other Pad Thai. 😊 Aroi mak
If I am able to buy tamarind paste, sauce or even ready Pad Thai sauce or paste in Poland you will be able to do same wherever you are my friend. Best of luck with this gem of Thai cousine :)
If you happen to live near any West Indian markets, they tend to have (cheap) tamarind paste as well. Or any fruit market in a West Indian neighborhood.
I have been following you and have made 4 great dishes already.. your Tom yum Gai and Green curry, Pad thai and Pad see ew! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Dear Pailin! My name is Bounseubh Touvongsa, I work in Surrey School District, I have introduced many high students to your Hot Thai Kitchen youtube and they do like it. I am very proud about Thai foods and I would to share our tasty Thai foods to all people that I know. Thanks so much for your Thai cooking. I love every one of them. I do want to know you if you don't mind.
Thanks you. :D Pad Thai is my girlfriends absolute favorite Thai food. She used to eat it a couple of times a week when she worked at a Thai restaurant. Hopefully I can make her some so she's not missing it to much. :P
Hi Pailin i tried you Phad Thai it came out very good. About the chai po i have the salty but what i did is i rinse once then i soak with water and put some sugar soak for 10 minutes and then rinse it it came out good. I live in Cayman Island so we have limited ingredient.
Eaten this just now. I had to use tamarind sauce rather than tamarind concentrate but the result was still really good. Made your Moo Ping last week (which was amazing) and Pad See Ew , which was great too. Glad I found your channel.
I just made this and it turned out SO yummy! I absolutely recommend this recipe! 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for the easy to follow instructions! A visit to my local Asian Food store and a few things off of Amazon and I was set.
Sa was dee Nong Pai. Another great video, allways wait in anticipation of the next ! Please, please, please could you show how to make 'gaeng som pla', as i love this dish? Also, how long will fish sause, soy sauce and oyster sauce keep once opened? Thanks again for such a great channel...............'pop gan mai'!
Excellent video! Very professional both video and food wise. I live in Bangkok so I rarely cook Thai food, it’s cheaper and better to get it on the street, but this I might try. Thank you Pailin
I made this last night, tasted just like the ones you get in the restaurant, amazing! One suggestion when adding the concentrated tamarind do a teaspoon at a time, because mine was very strong in the beginning, so i just diluted it and have more sauce for nest time
Yes, I should've mentioned in the video actually, that each brand of tamarind differs quite a bit in terms of acidity, so adjustments may need to be made. But i'm glad it turned out well!
I really loved your old recipe for Pad Thai; could you bring that back up? There were less ingredients, less complicated, and very very delicious. I searched hard to find your video again but don't see a website. It would be great if you kept your old recipes up somewhere.
I love the style of this video, it's very professional and cute - I liked the lime rolling past and the chili flakes..."Or a little less..." *spoon turns* "...or a lot more...." *spoon gets fulled* :) Can't wait to try this, I loved the last recipe and this one does sound better.
Thank you for the VDO. I really enjoyed it. Do you have Pad Thai sauce recipe without fish sauce? Could I substitute palm sugar or dark brown sugar or white sugar? Thank you so much.
Love, love, love your videos! I'll be making this for my mom this week, and the drunken noodles for my fiance too. Thanks for making intimidating food seem doable!
i love squid brand fish sauce... however i dont love pad thai i'm going to try it with your recipe because everything ive cooked from your channel has been great!!!!
yea, I found it! Can't wait, I've tried making on my own and never seems quite right, something was missing. Thanks for all the great recipies. How about spicy cod w/ hot bell pepper sauce? My favorite Thai resturant won't tell me, ha ha, wonder why....

fresh radish is not work for this menu. in Thailand sometime we don't add daikon radish. so don't worry about this.

Thanks for making a new Pad Thai video, I could only find part 1 of your first one. I am realy enjoying all of your videos. Keep them coming!
You should be able to find part 2 of the old one now! Sorry about that.
Probably the best Pad Thai recipe I have tried so far. Gonna stick with it! Thanks for sharing the recipe:)
i love all watt you do, you'r kitchen is my favorite , and i feel really my self in Thailand wen i try to do your receipts, ขอบคุณมาก ๆ

no words i just love your cooking all the best to you from germany
Thank you for this authentic and delicious recipe!! SO delicious and compares to the best restaurant pad Thai I’ve had!!
I always worried about being long winded with my cooking videos but I feel that I would prefer to hear "why" something is used and when to use it. Your editing have really improved a lot! Cheers to another great recipe!
I made this and it was delicious! I love your channel and find that you have the best explanation and protocol. Thank you!
I've made this multiple times. Straightforward and YUMMY recipe. Two thumbs up!
Yay! Gotta share some pics with me on Facebook!
Loving your videos and how clearly you explain what you are doing. Hats off Chef
My first time trying this recipe, it turns out even better than pad Thai from my local Thai's restaurant. I like the sauce a lot.
Awesome video and so easy to follow the recipe! Very entertaining too and such a charming chef!!
Tried this recipe today and it was delicious! Thank you!
I cooked this for the first time last night, for company. I had to double the recipe, substitute apple cider vinegar/brown sugar for the tamarind, and deal with unruly noodles but it turned out very good. I will be cooking this again.
Apple Cider Vinegar and Brown Sugar - I never thought of this as a substitute for tamarind!
You’re the best teacher ever
Well done! Especially on your first time. I also like to add cilantro and the juice of one lime towards the end, along with the bean sprouts, peanuts, etc. And as always, served with a sliced lime.
Great videos, great website, great explanations. I have learned so much from all of your videos.
I find your presentation ist so perfekt, I love to watch it. Perfectly explained. There ist no mistake remaining, which I can do. I was twice in Thailand and I am so happy, now I can cook this delicios dishes at home. Vielen Dank aus Deutschland.
Seriously the best teacher!
You're such a boss! Love your content!
Thanks pailin for this!! I cooked this and IT DID TASTE OF PAD THAI AS I REMEMBER IT IN THAILAND 😋
Thank you Pailin for sharing the recipe. Yes, totally agreed. This time it is much, much improved and better than last time. Very delicious.
I have been following you and have made 4 great dishes already.. your Tom yum Gai and Green curry, Pad thai and Pad see ew! Thank you so much for the inspiration!

Oh wait, I did mention that! :)
PailinsKitchen Yeah sorry you did, my bad! but anyway it was great in the end, whole family loved it!
This is my favorite. I've made it many times.
I really loved your old recipe for Pad Thai; could you bring that back up? There were less ingredients, less complicated, and very very delicious. I searched hard to find your video again but don't see a website. It would be great if you kept your old recipes up somewhere.
