Started BJJ in my early 50’s, 67 now, had my share of injuries and breaks in training. still rolling, still get that high after a good class.. always told myself that if the body ever convinced me it was time to hang it up, I leave the mats with no regrets. Hasn’t happened yet..
as an old roller, two things come to mind, goggins- stay hard, and what sort of roll model are you setting for your kids, sorry son, dad is tired, hes to lazy to put some work in....i heard those words last year, and it relit the fire, now me and my son both roll and both hit the gym regular....good times
52, had ACL replacement last year. While it is hard to fight through what seems like your body fighting against you and your mind trying to follow, the benefits are worth it. I'm starting to truly enjoy the journey rather than a destination. Cheers!
This is great! When I walked in to class at 51 years old, I told myself to burn the boats… no turning back, no quit!

Yes! Better to break down than fade out. Well done, sir!
