They were made by Howa in Japan. After S&W dropped them from their lineup Mossberg picked them up for one year. Fit, finish and tolerances were better than Remington.
@bheckner There's lots of videos on how how to clean all that gunk in the S&W 1000 and replace it with a water hose rubber washer. I did the same to mine
Nice shotgun. What that really is a Miroku arms shotgun. Miroku made this for Smith & Wesson. Take for example Colt had a semi-auto back in the 1960's but was made by Franchi . I also heard Remington sued Miroku because they argued it was a copy of 1100.

My brother has my uncle's regular 1000. The o ring in gas system went bad,he had no clue what to do.🤦♂️ I like the finish on yours vs the shiny.
@@bheckner I do like the parkerized version better. The only down fall is that it shows every little scratch and bump.
@@ironspringoutdoors it has character, stories for the next generation

That's a really nice shotty, never even knew they existed.
I definitely think S&W was trying to pull all the stops.
I have one that's engraved, I'd like to ask you if you have it still as I need some help.
I do still have this S&W M1000Super12 Waterfowler. What are you needing help with?
That’s crazy.
It’s definitely something unique when comparing to other shotguns.
Change your smok detector battery.
