this song doesnt do Dea Matrona any favours, especially if this is the 1st time you´ve heard them! Before any of their fans get on their high horses and prepare to Lynch me!! I am also a fan! and personally love everything theyve recorded or performed. Anyway in a nutshell newbies should check out as many of their recordings as possible, and do what i did and fall in love with them!!!
Nice little number. Clearly the leads not comfortable playing bass and singing so I assume a new band just starting out so a very commendable performance. Thanx for recording this but not really my thing, good quality image and nothing you can do about the sound balance, we just have to live with what our devices can hear.
Orláith Forsythe and Mollie McGinn are musically working together for a long time now. In 2018 the band "Dea Matrona" came to life (first a trio with Mamie McGinn on drums). I agree: this is not the best video. Please check "Dea Matrona Rockpalasst" (taped and recorded in the Netherlands). They added the second guitarist because their new songs had two guitars in the studio. They both play guitar and bass. They added the second guitarist to do the songs justice live. They both sing and play guitar or bass depending on the song. This was a fan video. Watch the Trans Musicales video or the Rockpalast video to the Live in a Big room video. All three were professionally shot and the first two aired on French and German tv respectively and the the third one is them playing them debut album in it’s entirety and in sequence.
The concert they did a year or so ago in France , I think shown on French TV was the sound quality & performance they have done in my opinion . Its a flawless performance and Orla's solos on Crossroads are as good if not better than Clapton's , it's one of the best versions ever ❤
