Also, CONCACAF is one of the weakest confederation. Only Mexico is a worthy opponent. Canada is just an anomaly right now with a good generation, they won't sustain. Lastly, the coaching at the U.S. youth level is abysmal. If we send all our best kids to Europe. We may have a shot. Otherwise...
Being athletic has very little to do with being good at football. 3 of the 4 best players of all time are under 5'9. Concacaf being weak doesn't mean much when European qualifying is seeded.
This guy is dead wrong. Unless football, basketball and baseball dissappear, America will likely never be a power in soccer. This guy is citing some silly study but the reality is 99% of America's Elite athletes play football and basketball, sorry. Even in 2024 in america, go to any high school and see for yourself what sport the elite athletes are playing.
