I downloaded one of the most popular space marine mods, and everything was space marine except the cape and chestplate but in the menu it still looks like space marine stuff how do i fix?
I've renamed the patch_ to be e.g. patch_0, patch_1, etc however the only file that works is the patch_0. I haven't touched any other part of the files and I've placed it in the data folder. However when I do go to rename the files a warning comes up stating that renaming the file extension the file might be come unusable. I have made sure the mods are up to date. @@robertcole8732 could be i'm not sure if vortex modifies the files. I'd use the Helldivers 2 dedicated mod manager by teutinsa if your going the mod manager route. Maybe I'll make a video on that.
Things you could check. Some mods may replace the same models. Additionally some mods from creators may not work after updates if the creators aren't keeping up with the mods.

@@thegongoolzler2677 that is a great question! I personally haven’t made mods for games, but I do know that when the mod is being made it can be assigned to replace a specific piece of armor. I believe the creator will have the ability to do just what you are asking, however the player will have to utilize what the creator has graphically changed in game. My best advice would be to see if there’s a mod that overhauls the armor set passive you’re looking for. For example the space marine mod in this video overhauled the fortified commando that has the trait extra padding. Hopefully the game devs add a vanity feature at some point so that we can utilize all the passives on the cosmetic of our choice o7
there are visual and audio mods through nexus mod manager. As for just basic switching modes on the weapon, hold the reload button to bring up functions such as single fire, and full auto. Hopefully the game adds attachments to the game as their is no additional modifications to weapons at the moment.

@@erevouder5213 if you dragged those files to your desktop you’ll have them if your just adding a copy to your data folder. To delete I’ll click on date added and you can identify them easily as the files will all have the same sequence of letters and numbers preceded by patch _#.
On steam find Helldivers 2, right click and scroll down to manage and then click browse local files. The mod should be there you’ll know as it’ll have a patch_1 for example. Change the number if it already exists here in the data folder.
@@B-rex127 not necessarily, but changing it in the data folder will show you if you have a duplicate when you drag and drop your mod into your data folder. You can do so prior to dropping if you’re sure of the sequence number you’re renaming.

So i went to check file integrity after i loaded the files, and its now making me reinstall the game I think (said i had like 2.3k missing files). Not sure what i did, does anyone know?

I have not, there are plenty of CC's bigger than me that are using cosmetic mods. That's not to say that anti-cheat couldn't actually ban you. I would recommend a cosmetic mod that has plenty of downloads. That'll indicate that its being used alot as well as the dates mods are updated.

I believe the developers would be able to distinguish the changes to damage values of exploiters or general reports from other players. Cosmetic mods are only visible to you, or those that also have them installed. Additionally there are many creators covering HD2 who are actively using visual mods in their videos and live streams. This is not to say that it isn’t subject to change whether you can or not. I’d suggest joining the HD2 official discord to see if those changes are announced.

i installed the isaac clarke armor mod and it said that there was one file than was not verified but i still launched the game and the armor it should replace is just nothing, like litteraly nothing
Is this your only mod? Check the posts section on the Isaac Clarke mod page. If your creator is 4Koddda it looks like he's no longer modding for HD2 so this mod may not work properly after updates.

unfortunatly thats just not how modding works, on console you dont have access to modifications of your files. it doesnt matter if you have someones psn account, you need access to the actual files themselves.
Can these mods get me banned? I know the anticheat can ban people who mod the game hut I'm not sure how common it is or if it's worth the risk

I haven’t encountered that myself, I would remove the file and start from scratch again to see if you can recreate the issue

I don’t know how to mod weapons and I thought this was a guide to mod weapons like switching the modes
