Other Tidbits:
Richard Ashcroft and Liam Gallagher embarked on a week’s worth of North American concert dates together, starting in San Francisco. For this very short tour, the former lead singers for Oasis and The Verve will specifically play San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, New York (Central Park SummerStage) and Philadelphia.
Richard later came out to take pictures with the fans, which was very nice. One fan even got a funny picture with Ashcroft holding up his t-shirt which features a picture of Ashcroft wearing a t-shirt which features a picture of Ashcroft, which features a picture of Ashcroft wearing a t-shirt which features a picture of Ashcroft, lol. They also sold posters which had the same Droste effect or Ashcroft’s picture recursively appearing within itself. :P
Oakland native Steve Wyreman, joined Richard for the final 4 songs. Steve also has got a feature in Ashcroft’s new upcoming album this September. RA was scheduled to play in SF last year at the Mezzanine, but the show was cancelled due to illness. Everyone was excited to see him as well as LG.

Mr Ashcroft is like a fine wine, gets better all the time...
With a wealth of tunes on Urban Hymns to choose from, I’ve found that Velvet Morning rose to be my absolute favorite. Something about it brings out the best aspects of what I love about Ashcroft and his craft. Perfection of harmony and soul.
“Don’t you find, that it’s lonely; the corridor you walk down alone”. For me it’s the signature escaping depression and being in a bad place.

I'm going to see Richard on the second of November I seen him at finsbury Park when I went to our LG. This man is fucking unreal a man a guitar and a fucking euphoric feeling like no other 🙏

"Velvet Morning" is a great song from The Verve's "Urban Hymns" album. Always one of my favorites, this live version personifies the passion, the anguish and the tenderness of Richard's lyrics.
What a gig the verve played at Leeds(england) temple of newsom, 1998, great weekend xx.
Such a beautiful song. Richard is pure class. And the rest of the band- not to forget.
I believe this is the GREATEST version of Velvet Morning ever recorded. Between Richard’s beautiful raw emotion in his voice and Steve Wyreman’s amazing guitar this is fantastic. It needs to go on an album. Richard and Steve together are an amazing combination. Thank you for this recording it’s beautiful
Nah mate, The one recorded at Haigh Hall, Wigan, was far better than this. Richards voice is nowhere near as good as it was back then
