I've had to defend using NO CAULK between the glass and the rabbet. Lol actually, it was more like argue to use only Sarco type M putty and never-ever caulk. I'm so glad I fought for the benefit of the 104 year old beautiful and precious windows and their glass!
I can never thank you enough for your videos!

I've been learning some great techniques from your videos. I also appreciate what you're doing to get others going to help restore these windows.
I notice that in this video that it is time consuming using the razor on the backside. I've had pretty good luck, even with caulk, using snap off blade razors to score around the backside a few times on all four side (without slicing the muntins). As long as my corners are cleared out on top, the glass usually pops outs pretty easily at that point. It could just be that it takes me three times as long to clear the top side first though!

I’m always hopeful that people who learn from my techniques will use them simply as a launching point. I think my techniques are pretty solid, but are by no means the only way to get the task completed. I like your method and will keep it in my back pocket because sometimes what I’m doing doesn’t work out as well as it does in the videos and I have to shift and try another angle. Keep it up.

I'm loving your videos! Question: I have a 1924 house that I have just started restoring the windows. The sashes are in good condition but the glaze and paint are coming off most of my windows. I believe my panes are caulked in, so can I just remove the glaze, clean the area up real nice, and just reglaze them without removing the glass? Keep making your videos, people like me with old homes need people like you in their lives.

In ct there’s a company who restores wood windows. They upgrade the glass with double pane. Any idea how they can fit thicker glass
