I already knew most of this cause Sylas is one of my mains, but this guide was really nice with good explanations (also !!thanks for mentioning the pro play Q E W max, i was wondering why they did that). So im looking forward to more guides from you :)
Dude i love you,just came home from holidays and wanted to restart playing Sylas, perfect timing
You forgot E + W + E combo, that is by far the best combo if you are ganking other lane or trying to pick someone, its pretty much impossible to dodge the E, and even if they flash out you can E after, I see Bo using that all the time in his VoDs playing as Sylas jungler when ganking
I'm starting to see some success with Sylas now! Everything says max W first, always take dorans ring etc, and my lane phase was so abysmal I got dumpstered for the rest of every game. I'm winning lane or going even more than half the time with Q max and shield and resolve tree. Thanks for the guide Shok.

Great guide! I would note a few things that I've learned from playing Sylas and utilizing him as my main. In low ELO I would always recommend the following: Conqueror, Ignite, Q max and dark seal. Why? Because you can use these to basically 1v1 any champion in lane. Just max Q, go for poke with it, then once they're down to 50-70% HP wait for lvl 6, take their ulti and all in on them. Winning lane, and getting 1-2 solo kills early w/ dark seal will make it so you can run the tempo of the game, and roam.

I personally love playing him AP Burst Assassin Style with Electro and ludens. The damage is unreal. I also like to trap with that build by being super passive the first few levels, which mostly lets aggressive opponents misposition out of impatience. Then I suddenly hard engage with electro. Got so many kills that way.

Hey! Thanks for the video, I love these in depth guides. Listening to the reasoning behind the choices is very valuable. Would you ever consider spirit visage on Sylas as an MR item against comps that don't have high impact "first" skills you want to avoid but still make you wish you had MR? For example if you're vs a fed Kata + ap supp/jungle.
Yeah I think you could do that as like a 5th or 6th item
I feel like there is no reason not to buy zhonyas every game. The item literally goes hand in hand with sylas.

I usually max w first even tho vs ranged because in soloq i find myself in random skirmishes everywhere and the value for w heal so good for skirmishes , also allows you to 1v2 when getting doved. But maybe those are true for me because i miss so much 2nd q hit.

I think you can still consider 3 points Q and then W max if you feel like that happens a lot, imo Q max feels so good I can't live without it
@@ShokLeague I think the rank 1 Sylas does that max order (3 points in Q) into lanes where he needs the ability to influence the wave like LB or mages.
Hey shok, what do you think about the new sylas builds now? I'm not sure when to go fs or conq. Is Roa into zhonyas/shadowflame into rabadons a good build path?
yeah imo roa > zhonya/banshee/shadowflame > zhonya/banshee/shadowflame > rabadons/void > rabadons/void something like that is good 99% of the time, I think just go conq most of the time it's really hard to FS atm cause there is too much range and you really need tenacity from conq tree as well
I always max W first then E and Q last, I noticed during worlds that most sylas were maxing Q first against range match up but I never tried it because max W gives you more sustain and allows you to be a bit more aggressive. I might give Q max first a try and see how it feels!
How is it?
It makes laning easier, more wave clear and you can actually survive some diffuclt matchups. I still max W first bc i am so used to it tho

Is gathering storm transcendence not good? Especially with the conquerer runes???
Resolve secondary is really nice, but into matchups you're expecting to win, I sometimes like perfect timing + cosmic insight, might not be great though

I think so since it makes his hard matchups so much easier, but you might see W max more often than you see it now

Hmm honestly not sure, he hasn't been playable in jungle for a while. I think if you wanted something similar in the jungle Ekko/Diana could be good options

Is sylas worth to play in low elo? As games take so long i think its not the best one in those cases but i really like the champ anyway so idk if i should added him to my pool
Yeah I think so, he snowballs super hard and he's still pretty good late game

Not a fan of ludens on Sylas but you could do it if you want just full burst
good guide, but you cannot say that you prefer the Q-W-E max and show clips of mostly

Doesn't seem good to me, Sylas JG is ok but you need to go for lots of ganks since your clear is awful

Pretty much the same, Q > W > E for more sustained damage, Q > E > W for more burst

@@tvm2209 Because that's what ppl max in pro play, many less fights in comp games. Imo soloq W max is better but both are really good. Also E max can be better vs more ranged champs

Meh nobody builds cosmic on sylas anymore. Weird that you would recommend it when it's a really bad item for him atm.
Just go Zhonya and Banshee if you don't want cosmic, but it's still a good item if you don't need those.

Why don't you speak about going second wind in hard and dark seal first item in free matchups?
I mention second wind vs poke lanes at 1:32 and also mention it many times during the laning section. Dark seal first item sucks.
@@ShokLeague I’ve had some success with dark seal 3 health pots, you lost a bit of mana sustain but the snowball potential is always nice I think

I appreciate these guys but imo it's a waste of time to put too much time into the runes and items parts. Those things change way too quickly while other, more general concepts of the champion, stay consistent over months and years.
Honestly just depends on the champ, some champs (especially mages) have pretty much had the same build for multiple years but you're right stuff like Yone/Akali change up pretty often
What do you think about Manamune Sylas?
Not really sure honestly, just seems kinda inferior
