Can totally agree, just pure, profound knowledge and content. Really a good alternative to all the clickbait channels / videos, keep up the great work Shok ❤!
Bro you are so smart and knowledgeable about the game, you actually helping me a lot to improve my fundamentals and macro about the game, keep up the good work!
The ww I so underrated in this video it is one of hwei's most clutch abilities, it can allow you to tank point and click dash on abilities or untargetable dash like fizz w or diana e, you can then use ew while tanking to land a guaranteed ult and qe for crazy damage. YOUR WW IS A CRAZY USEFUL ABILITY AND MAKES REALLY HARD MATCH UPS MANAGEABLE AND ALLOWS FOR HUGE OUTPLAYS.
with WE, you can cast an ability, or auto, then activate WE before ur ability (or AA) hits and the bonus damage from WE is applied. kinda useful since you can QE then WE and kite in WE animation and get more distance
“It’ll bring these tigers together” 😂 Shok.. once again we cannot thank you enough for this content, cant fault it! Its exactly what we want, keep it up!
Just one more thing to add is you can actually use WE after a dmg spell and it will still hit that goes for every hwei spell even EE For example you can QQ then quickly WE EE then WE
Yeah i was wondering why he would not mention it. It opens up pretty fast combo. Like the one you mentioned the great part is you procc all 3 parts of your WE within QQ and EE combo without autoing once. 1 Procc from QQ, one Procc from EE and one procc from the passive that happens. Thats nearly 500 dmg level 3 that is hard to punish becasue you can walk away while they still be cc in EE...
I was having some difficulties building Hwei early in the season so I went on Hwei's Reddit to ask and after a few tests based on recommendations and personnal preferences I found Liandry/Archangel/Rabbadon to be really strong and it's been my default build now for a few weeks
Well but also remember. Liandrys doesn’t give mana anymore. Gives HP. So ludens will sync more with archangel passive mana to Ap ratio multiplier. It’s not a bad build, it’s just not maximized. Normally when I build liandrys it’s because I also wanna build shadow flame to go against tanky comps. That said with the build you just mentioned you are also aiming for poke not burst, so adjust the runes accordingly to fit that play style.
Yep i agree, i'm on 50 games with hwei by now, 70% win rate, i have tried pretty much all builds, and i've encountered a sweet spot on seraphine into damage, if they are tanky or i am a bit behind i go liandry, if not, i go into rabadon or zhonya/veil if they are focusing me every fight. When you hit rabadon u can one shot anyone and people don't expect the damage, and you start to snowball. I've found that many people start chasing Hwei midgame, and you can delete them with WQ - QE - EE or EW or EQ depending if its 1 or 2. People usually walk into your combo and squishy champs die trying to kill you.
Shok always delivers. Thanks for the great guide. I did want to ask though do you have any advice for sidelaning as hwei vs spam gank junglers like nocturne?
the amount of times my Q-W killed an enemy trying to recall under tower with low health is absurd. The Teamfight section has helped me a lot! I still have major Issues positioning well as Hwei but now I know what to look for.
It's finally here! Is unsealed spellbook ever worth considering? I did take it on Hwei one time against Fizz and I got okay-ish value out of it. I did manage to steal dragon by taking smite since the timing lined up perfectly when both jungler were dead which was pretty sick though.
Hey, will there be a followup video for the new patch/split? Since some Masteries got changed, would love to see some thoughts about this (even if its just a comment)
Hi shok, considering it has been a while, would you change your champ pool if you had to play on 200 ping again? Or what other champs would you play now
I think I'd still play very similar champs, stuff like the lissandra and galio would still be the strongest. Maybe malz or something would be worth trying a bit more
What about first strike for runes, flash ghost for sums and then malignance, shadow flame into raba. I've seen a lot of people play that and saying it is the best Hwei build (tried it a lot myself), but I just feel like I deal so much less dmg, what are your thoughts on this?
imo you lose out on so much lane power with first strike and ghost instead of comet and TP. Malignance imo is kinda a bait and I don't like shadowflame much because you have no CDR, so overall i don't really like the build
I think this is the best hwei guide. hitting ult is #1 in team fights. even if you CC the enemy galio, it’s better to ult him for the garunteed AOE NUKE passive machine
Hi, what do u think about ludens into seraphs? I tried it and its pretty good, more mana, more shield from seraph passive, damage is the same as horizon and ability haste too
How do you think Hwei performs in the sidelane (because midgame)? I usually have trouble sidelaning with immobile mages. And feel like those assassins that are easy match up in the lane become a huge threat
Hmm if you end up vs assassins you have to be quite careful when you go sidelane, mainly just going to catch wave at towers. Hwei is kinda bad vs assassins though in general I try and avoid them
The only one I used is OutPlayed to watch my vods back, never used any others. I guess having an app to track summoners/jungle spawns could be useful though
In general double AP mid jungles are not very good because it means MR value is super high for enemy team. Karthus and Eve deal a lot of AOE dmg anyway so they are normally best as a solo AP on a team
@shok question, how are sorcs countered by flat resist? isnt magic pen the counter to resistance in the first place? just genuinely curious what makes them bad in that scenario.
Well sorcs reduce magic pen by a flat amount (18). If your opponent only has say 40 MR that's reducing their MR by almost half. If your opponent has 200 MR then that flat 18 pen hardly does anything. So as people get more and more MR sorcs become less and less useful, and something like cryptbloom or void (with % magic pen) start to become more valuable.
ive been following Azapp's build and runes and losing a lot, so hopefully this will alleviate my lose streak, its my first time hitting diamond so im always very nervous 😭😭😭. As a former gold player i feel like i have no confidence in this elo
I am a malzahar main... I watched that portion of your vid about hwei abilities... And all I can think is... In all aspects, hwei is far superior to malzahar. this is total bullshit. how can you even pretend that this champion is balanced compared to malzahar.
im so disappointed in this champion. i was so excited to have a new complex champ in league with all the simple or brain dead champs and re works of late. he was supposed to have all these abilities and combos and yet u do the same combo over and over. a little variation. the potential of this character was so awesome i cant be the only person extremely let down by his abilities
I don't think you have found the correct way to play hwei yet, yes combos might be always the same, but people play this champ different, and it's the combination of these styles that make this champ amazing. If you look at Faker playing this champ, he plays A LOT with WQ in lane to dodge and surprise opponents, pressure under turret with WW, and mixing Q W or QQ to poke, other people use EE into QQ and some EQ into QW. Depending on how i am feeling and the items i'm building, i use one playstyle or the other.
This channel is Still so ridiculously underrated. Keep up the grind shok

Yeah liandry isn't bad, I hate how it doesn't give CDR though
Hi Shok, Alex from New Zealand here. Played hwei for the first time yesterday and I'm enjoying him a lot! Enjoyed the video, cheers
That's my goat :D
Great video, can you do a Hwei guide next?
real acknowledging real, in real time
i dont get the joke lol
Hey man I'll work on it

Do u recommend black fire torch since the changes and if yes can you tell me when nice video it’s really helpful
Not really I think it's still overrated, it can be good against melee heavy comps though
It's finally here! Is unsealed spellbook ever worth considering? I did take it on Hwei one time against Fizz and I got okay-ish value out of it. I did manage to steal dragon by taking smite since the timing lined up perfectly when both jungler were dead which was pretty sick though.
It's probably not bad vs assassins yeah, I think hwei has enough neutralization tools that you can get away with not having it though
Hey, will there be a followup video for the new patch/split? Since some Masteries got changed, would love to see some thoughts about this (even if its just a comment)
imo it's not too different for Hwei, when I post Hwei gameplay I'll talk about it though
Thanks for the great guide as always

You can use your E, then your Q, and before the E hit you can still cast WE, if you fast enough.
Interesting I didn't know that!
I think this is the best hwei guide.
hitting ult is #1 in team fights.
even if you CC the enemy galio, it’s better to ult him for the garunteed AOE NUKE passive machine
got hwei m7 after watching this video. He is so fun to play even in a losing game.
Just wondering why not take first strike into the katarina, or is it only for meele champs with less dashes?
It's good into melee champs with a lot of sustain (e.g. Yone, Yas) but into champs without it you can normally bully them out with Aery or Comet
Hi, what do u think about ludens into seraphs? I tried it and its pretty good, more mana, more shield from seraph passive, damage is the same as horizon and ability haste too
ludens is bad, and has been since the rework
Yeah I think this build is pretty good too
As always very good vid. I have not been playing him lately because he kinda lack scaling.
How do you think Hwei performs in the sidelane (because midgame)? I usually have trouble sidelaning with immobile mages. And feel like those assassins that are easy match up in the lane become a huge threat

You sound exactly like Midbeast.. Lol. Thanks for the guide!
This is the video I've waited for
@Shok What do you think about third party app? What's your opinion? Should i be using them if I want to improve?
The only one I used is OutPlayed to watch my vods back, never used any others. I guess having an app to track summoners/jungle spawns could be useful though
@@ShokLeague Thanks for reply
Heyo, what about Malignance in the anti-tank build. Offers CDR, ult CDR and MR shred, isnt it good after archangels?
The MR shred is flat so it's not that good against tanks
@@ShokLeague :O thanks
ww is also good for holding minions to set up a freeze
What do u think about taking first strike into akali because of how much sustain she gets from dshield second wind and maybe fleet too
Yea it's good
Excellent guide, thanks.
day 5 of asking for taliyah gameplay, this time maybe a video indepth like this one xd
Day 1 of asking no taliyah gameplay, and more azir and asol
Odysseus has pretty good videos as taliyah, you can most likely learn lots of tricks by simply watching him, he is one of if not the best taliyah main
Would be amazing if we could create our arsenal during the game , at least I prefer this way
48:03 Teemo killed his entire team by flashing into 2 other members while he has Hwei ult on him 🤣
did you mention the slow on QE? that can help you land ult as well.
Why did you take attack speed shard over CD or AP? For last hitting?
yeah, last hitting on hwei is garbage without it. feels worse than anivia and other mages easily
Makes last hitting easier + it helps you get prio in some mage vs mage matchups
Thanks this helped me
why not building void staff? it gave 10% pen more but its lil more expensive can someone tell?
The ability haste is normally more valuable than the 10% more pen
what do you think about
rod
archangel
deathcap
bloom
defense item
I hate ROA on pretty much every champ atm, takes way too long and the game is too fast
@@ShokLeague fair enough makes sense
What a great morning
Have you played any Hwei Support? Do you think it's viable? How much of this video is applicable to a Hwei Support player like me?
Haven't played much Hwei support but yea it is pretty strong, a lot of the video will still apply to you, just itemization is gonna be a bit different
Do you think Hwei on Bot lane is a viable pick?
Yep I think it's good
How did you get that lor button in your client?
Only in the OCE client for some reason
You didn't explain why Hwei would be a bad pick with Evelynn or Karthus?
In general double AP mid jungles are not very good because it means MR value is super high for enemy team. Karthus and Eve deal a lot of AOE dmg anyway so they are normally best as a solo AP on a team
Great content.
Thought FitnessFAQ was making a Hwei guide.
Ahahah a few people have said this, I do't see it though...
if you QQ WE it will apply a stack. Same for EE WE.
Are these builds still up to date?
Reasonably so yeah
I’ve noticed I don’t get the value out of cryptbloom because of how far away some enemies are dying
you’re mostly buying it for the stats rather than the item effect
Yeah sometimes the item effect doesn't do much but you really like the ability haste on it
Another banger
Can this work for ADC Hwei @Shok
Should do yeah
