Champions is a 2023 American sports comedy film directed by Bobby Farrelly in his solo directorial debut, from a screenplay written by Mark Rizzo. It is an English-language remake of the 2018 Spanish film of the same name. The film stars Woody Harrelson as a temperamental minor-league basketball coach who after an arrest must coach a team of players with intellectual disabilities as community service; Kaitlin Olson, Ernie Hudson, and Cheech Marin also star.

Going to be checking it out soon, can’t wait! As someone who has a 2 autistic sisters, I think this would be the perfect movie for them. Also, The Ringer with Johnny Knoxville is pretty good. Great review, brother and I’m glad you had a great experience with the film.

Champions sounds and looks like a really cool heartwarming uplifting movie Brandon I do miss the Vancouver Grizzlies I used to cheer them on and would still cheer for them if they hadn't moved out of Vancouver. Excellent review 👍🆒

I saw the original first and its great.
My rating 7.5
For its sheer sweetness and heart The Spanish original deserves a 7.5. The story is uncomplicated and vey sugar coated. But the great messaging and the commitment of both the script and the actors to the theme of the movie makes it a winner. And it really has a very "different ending".
Final Verdict- Definitely watch the original. It has a very simple plot and lacks the drama it could have generated. But the great concept and great all round performances make it a winner when ironically its message is that winning is not everything.
I would watch the Hollywood original to see if they matched it or bettered it. Or fell short.

Gotcha! I LOVE the Vancouver Grizzlies design and logo! Too bad Memphis has the rights to it now. Do you think Memphis would change it's name and let Vancouver have the Grizzlies back? I'm not too familiar with the NBA rights, but didn't something similar happen with the Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats and the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans??
