Absolutely gorgeous. Amit has such a flare. I noticed he seemed to work all wet on dry. Everything so nice and loose.

Ahhh truth be known...ulterior motives, eh! ? Well, Good luck wth UA-cam! Thank you for your honesty AND for sharing such great art information!!! Amit meant Lana Aquarelle paper... slightly softer (less stiff---less binder in the paper) than d'Arches, Lana is also whiter than Arches ( usually preferred by watercolour floral painters because of it's "sparkling whiteness". Texturally, it is slightly smoother and less abrasive than d'Arches. It is my preferred watercolour floral support! But being a 'softer" paper than d'Arches some of those scrubbing and masking techniques are not always recommended. Thank you for bringing Amit Kapoor to us! I love this loose style!
The painting is absolutely stunning! And done in only 30 minutes!!! wonderful!

I hope this reads to b helpful not critical. Most water color instructors insist that a color name &/or brand of paint is unimportant. What they suggest we consider is color temperature, warm or cool. So just consider basic options such as blue or green? Orange or red?? Bright yellow or pale?? I also include wether I see a color as clean or dirty. A perfect example is yellow ochre. I see that as dirty verses cad or lemon yellow which is clean. Just for conversation the real difference between those 2 categories is white. A yellow ochre has white pigment in the blend & is more opaque. I hope u get the idea.
Many watercolor scenes revolve around 3 colors & use more or less water to create value shifts, lighter or darker. The best advice I can give u is to consider which will b warm & which will b cool, ur light or ur shadow, & then stick to that through out the painting.
Stronger chroma will protrude & weaker chroma will recede. Warmer colors such as red will protrude & cooler colors such as violet & blue will recede. Mix the compliments to create less garish color, to create not so tacky looking pieces. A great exercise is to use burnt umber or burnt sienna (which ever u have &/or prefer) & ultramarine blue (or again, favorite blue) plus a warm yellow to paint an entire painting. U will mix the orange & blue to make grays that lean more warm or cool by choice (more bu/bs or more blue) & u can use the yellow for brighter light or even mix it with the blue for greens (dont forget to add just a hint of ur orange, burnt umber or burnt sienna, to keep ur green from looking gaudy) Black is typically considered a tint so u can add that to a mix if u want really deep darks.
Dont forget to break some edges by dabbing with ur finger when they r fresh marks or later use a wet tissue to dab &/or smear. A variety in edge work is extremely important. Look for 2 areas of light meeting, those r great natural choices to do a smear or blur, leaving hard edges for stronger contrast between light & dark.
I hope this helps. Happy painting 🎨
      The best to u & urs. ✌🏻
