You being very honest and open about these things while still not naming names or throwing people under the bus really gives me even more respect for you because you’re not sugar coating or being vague, but you’re showing that you have a lot of integrity by respecting others and their privacy. This was wonderful, and I hope you do more of these!
As a 14 year old theatre fan, this was so interesting and educational. Thank you Ryan! I LOVE how sincere these responses are and how you shed light to the dark sides of the entertainment industry. Not many talk about this. Also I just wanted to state that "If I had to make a decision between money and my life, I would choose my life 10 times out of 10" was beautifully phrased. I'm going to keep that in my heart for my future. Again, thank you for the video! I genuinely enjoyed it.
I wish I was this well spoken (or rather, written) when I was just 14. Kids today are doing more than okay; they really “get it” when it comes to mental health (and physical, but that’s not as new), work-life balance, & understanding that social media is usually a highlights reel, & have a real appreciation for channels like this that speak about both the good and bad aspects.
I laughed for a full minute about what you said about Jeremy Jordan because he says nearly the exact same thing about Jonathon groff lol. You are all equally talented
I just want to say how impressed I am with how the two of you have sorted out the new channel format and types of content. I’m really enjoying the videos you’ve both been making, both together and separately, the differing views you’ve been presenting (and not just all positive, feel good highlights), but even more than that, how you’ve worked through the change in your partnership. Too often, we only see the toxic side of it, & you’re such positive role models for healthy break ups. Please, keep up with the honest, open discussions you’ve been presenting.
the way that you’re obviously grateful but can also make comments on the entertainment industry is so impressive. thank you for the transparency Ryan! I love this type of video and pls come back to 54 below soon!!!
Hey Ryan! So yeah, I was on Broadway in the way back machine, the rock musical "HAiR" and we had a raked stage, just signing off on your observations- yes, injuries on the raked stage, yes, sex in the dressing rooms..glad you're continuing the tradition!:))Luv you & Sam, Debbie
"It's the job that I love but the industry that I hate" Ryan. Thank you. Im 30 and I've been professionally acting for about 10 years. Things were going great, Ive been fortunate to work with some very famous people and have never felt so alive.... but being called with less than 24 hours notice to be on set in another city, province, sometimes even a country is anxiety inducing. Not knowing how you can keep a "day job" when you must be available 24/7 Im a chronically ill performer. I have infusions once a month. I have 10 specialists that I must see to keep my disease in check. I had to take moments off for this. I got into a car accident and asked for 2 weeks off...i was dropped. i was dropped because my life wasnt worth it to agents because I didnt make any money. This agent has yelled and lost her temper with me multiple times for clarifying questions or things like my illness. So yes, the job gives me life, the industry kills me Thank you for your honesty, you have taken off the rose coloured glasses. But you have also given me a more realistic perspective
I'm meant to be going to sleep but I've had a bit of a crappy evening and Sam and Ryan content never fails to make me smile. As an aspiring actor, I find content like this really interesting
I remember seeing Heathers and being so awestruck by your performance (the film is one of my favorites) and you did such justice to the role. But I had no idea you had a channel until now! I am so glad it popped onto my feed and you are discussing these topics in the entertainment industry - it's so beneficial and needed. Thank you for all that you and Sam do
Thank you for your honesty, I consider myself an artist and it's great to see someone sharing what it's like to be in the industry ps: crazy how your "divorce" and division of us is really good I think I'll introduce your channel to my parents lol
Minnesota girlie here!! I just want to say you are SUCH an inspiration to me bc you are literally walking proof that a weirdo Minnetonka kid can make it big!! LOVE YOU RYAN 😘😘😘😘
Not a theatre kid but a band kid. I recently saw a local heathers musical which my ex classmate from elementary played Veronica. It was pretty good. I have seen the film and listening to dead girl waking previously.
Really loved this video! So genuine and honest ❤ I can relate so much to the first question. As a professional ballet dancer I’m just in the studio 24/7. No time for social life working nights and holidays. 😭
Saw Wicked for the first time recently here in Melbourne, Australia, and thank God it wasn’t a raked stage. Apparently this is about right for any touring cast.
I'm someone who is trying to claw my way in and you confirmed all of my thoughts. It's rough but I keep going because ultimately when I do get those chances it is very fulfilling. But good grief
Thanks again for another honest take inside the industry. I agree with your suggestion that you probably should make more of these videos periodically going forward.
This was a fascinating watch, good work Ryan! Also when are we getting out next entry in two truths and a lie? I wanna know which injury was a total fib! XD
When will you be revealing the “lie” from the two truths and a lie you did a couple of weeks ago? Q: how DO sex scenes (like spring awakening) work? (I apologize if that’s annoying or too personal but I am curious)
I was shocked when you said that you were doing 8 shows a week. Is that the normal amount? Because I am currently in a musical while in high school (musical and school is not connected but only people who are between 16-19 are allowed to participate) and we are doing 8 shows a week plus school every day. If that's how many shows they're doing professionally then our teachers really gotta cut us some slack. Gosh we're working two jobs at the same time and not getting paid on either😅
Why are you stealing content and not crediting the original source ? Edit not me thinking that this was a different channel stealing Sam and Ryan's content 😂😂😂😂
Will we be informed about any new roles you've gotten? Also how bad is working on productions that has basically no medical care? Just maybe a rusty first aid box?
he is a big deal actor tho love. he was original musical JD, diggie in liv and maddie, hans in frozen broadway, etc. i think you meant to say YOURE nothing, victor💀💀💀💀
“I have the kids this week” 😂
first reply 😍😊

Yep

I’m curious. Did you audition for the wicked movie?
‘i have hooked up in 64% of my dressing rooms’ LMAO 😭

Thank You for being a straight-shooter. People need to hear the realities of working in show business, and that it is not all fun and excitement.
I love the honesty. I was in the industry as a child, and it was a different world there, I can only imagine what it's like now.
“sssss..ex”
This was so fun to watch :) you and Sam both are so charismatic ✨🤍
This kind of transparency is sooooo refreshing
Not a theatre kid but a band kid. I recently saw a local heathers musical which my ex classmate from elementary played Veronica. It was pretty good. I have seen the film and listening to dead girl waking previously.
Wow first time a question i asked ended up in a video awesome love this video glad you are telling the truth
Really loved this video! So genuine and honest ❤ I can relate so much to the first question. As a professional ballet dancer I’m just in the studio 24/7. No time for social life working nights and holidays. 😭

It was pretty coincidental that after watching this, I watched Be Kind Rewind's video essay on the Coppolas. Hello, nepotism central!
When will you be revealing the “lie” from the two truths and a lie you did a couple of weeks ago?
Q: how DO sex scenes (like spring awakening) work? (I apologize if that’s annoying or too personal but I am curious)
Ngl I’m curious about that 😂

62 PERCENT OF YOUR DRESSING ROOMS. SIR
Taylor is not a nepotism baby! Her parents knows no one in the music industry. She just has “rich” parents
Talking yourself up like you're some big deal actor 🙄🤣🤣 you're like nothing 😂
he is a big deal actor tho love. he was original musical JD, diggie in liv and maddie, hans in frozen broadway, etc. i think you meant to say YOURE nothing, victor💀💀💀💀
