Normally, I'm not into diamonds on a man's timepiece, but this works well on its own extravagant terms. The platinum case, pale blue sunburst dial, white gold cradles and cut gems look handsome rather than flamboyant or overwrought. At 36mm, the traditional proportions of the watch are modest enough that it's more of a connoisseur's piece than a declaration of class warfare or one-upmanship. Best, Tim
