People representing from the other North-eastern states would have been a better representation on this topic than the more mainland-oriented Assam, not in the sense of facial features but culturally wise. Because, I feel compared to the people of Assam, the sense of alienation from the mainland, is far more greater in the other 6 states, so the idea and the experience of the discussed subject matter would have been better reflected by them. (I am not denying the fact that people from Assam don't face this racism in central India over their looks/food/customs esp. the tribals of Assam, but the gravity of the situation is more dire for the people of the other 6 Northeastern states.)

Exactly!! Calling gujus and marwaris thieves, south Indians black or madrasi with negativity, calling Sikhs dumb. This is not just towards NE people. It maybe more prominent for NE though, they too are racist towards the rest of the Indians.
In terms of looks and languages, people from the so called mainland India does not differ much from that of Pakistanis or Afghans and people from Bangladesh etc. We don't go and ask if they are Pakistanis etc. We don't even need to travel all over India to learn that. Just an elementary level education is enough for us NE people. But the self proclaimed genius people of mainland India seems to skip learning this. I was asked so many times after introducing myself, " Oh! You are from Mizoram? Where is that country?" OR even, "Where is Mizoram?" Its funny cause some of these questions come even from Delhi police officers!😂

Malayalam movie industry have casted northeast indians in some of the movies
Bollywood producers r busy in taking Pakistanis
I have Question why many Mainland Indian guy visit to Bangkok Pattaya Redlight district???
I really wish Too that the next destination be Kohima...
And you need not worry about the roads in Kohima. You would be surprised to see how the roads are well maintained and clean. But Dimapur to kohima roads are still under process...
Its not an dream to organize this type of conclave in Guwahati, its just a simple things, ok Rajdeep
What a lame discussion!there is no panelist of mongoloid origin(eg Nagaland,Manipur,Mizoram etc)...how can you have a discussion on discrimination of north east Indians without including the very people who face such discrimination ?
Assam is representing.
True.... Bring the people who have gone through and talk with them... Then only they will understand... Not some big celebs....
Its good that we are having discussion openly not shying away.
Racism do exist everywhere. However, love, acceptance, care and also and other good things also exist among with it. Rose is surrounded by thorns and still blooms beautifully. We need to ignore the thorns of life and they'll loose their existence eventually.
the Panel must be from Manipur or Nagaland or Mizoram or Arunachal not Assam. Rajdeep Look more chicky than the other 2 from Assam
Agreed !
They could have had explained better to rest of India what is racism actually
Adeel is from Assam
If one of the panel was from arunchal ,manipur,Meghalaya they could explain more appropriate about northeast rather then panellists from assam
It has been increasing rapidly in few recent years. Left us feel like tourist in my own country.
Meiyang chang ..wow that guy is very articulate ☺
What a good topic this should be telecasted to hindi news channels
14:58 Adil Hussein sir I know which state you are talking about 🤘🏼 The people in that state think they are separated from India and they don’t like to be called an Indian so sorry you had to face that awkward situation. I’m from Arunachal and we welcome every person from any part of India and we try to make them feel comfortable and also our general language is Hindi unlike any other states.
Who care racist .... proud to b a north eastern ....
I dont want to live in India because mainland India are so racist...Nagaland fight for Independence around 70 years..we Mizoram fight Independence in 1966(M.N.F)so if you so racist and descriminate..So let them go and give Independence...
Correct bro you young generation must start new mass movement
Anchor is struggling hard to get the right narratives. The panelists could have opened up more.
Yes panelist’s didn’t get up to the point since they respecting their own presentation Celebrities 🤔🤔
How many people from this audience had been to Manipur? Mr. Anchor, we know your mentality, Remember, Manipur had a valid constitution before India have one. You are a racist
By the way, Sir Sardesai, 'momo' is not an indigenous food from any of the seven sisters states.
Momo is Tibetan food, Arunachal Pradesh has some origin in South Tibet
Ya... that what mainland people think that momo is originated from northeast!!! But honestly speaking we do not steam or cook momos at home. And main thing is that only we young generations love to eat momos because it is trending everywhere😀😀
@@SwagataGhosh_miyu momo is orginally from china and then spread to tibet amd from there to ne
@@SwagataGhosh_miyu And the mainland people eats more momos than North Eastern
The term 'momo' is a word of Tripuri also which mean that food to be ready to eat made in oven
Uff this Chang hasn't being bullied it seems representing NE is a total thumbs down.
proud to be NE love from NAGALAND 😍
"Iam with Meiyang Chang,Adil Hussain & Mitra phukan👌👌👌💖💖💖"
The Chang guy is handsome, cute, intelligent and confident.
Mr. Journalist you called to the wrong people so all of your question cannot be come to the right answer because this people know or experience nothing which other mongoloid looks had. So next time if you conduct such program don't be mistake, you have to choose one from Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal, Sikkim...forget about Assam because majorities looks indian faces.
Thank you making this show.
My dad was in short commission officer in Artillery Indian Army. He fought for the country in Kargil war during hard face off Tiger hill. But, the Muslim guys in Bangalore called me chinky. I called them pakistani. From North East.
It's true mainly the tribals of Assam face this type of racism
Yes even this thing happend to me in Kerala too ..I remember I used to stay kerala for few days ...they stared calling me corona virus even when I smiled at them ..they did not stopped calling me
meiyang chang looks very cool
Problem was Congress took NE for granted. But now competitive politics setting in and people are getting to know. We should promote NE as much as possible as soon as possible. I apologize all NE people who ever faced discrimination. I am ashamed.
This is the Best session on Conclave INDIA Today 2018
Racism is especially faced by people like us who are earning in private companies.I wanna request the government to
teach the whole people of India that" we who looks like Chinese come to earn with our own rights, they should not treat us like enemies or competitors.People in high-class won't understand our inner pain, but it's really very fact that low -class ppl need to be mainly educated! The crimes today is mainly done by uneducated ppl, this ignorance can be washed away by Media/bollywood.
I dont understand why Rajdeep Sardesai has to talk so aggressively to everyone...
Northeast is known as the Seven sister.i am from Nagaland and Nagaland is a place Where their is Different language and various tribes. You come and visit and enjoy the landscape,Hornbill festival, Mountains and Rivers but one thing is tat we don't av Enough good infrastructure and Good Roads.
In this universe we are here for temporary not for permanent.
Spread Love not hate.
There is No value for Racism or Discrimination.
Live your life happyily and enjoy your every single breathe tat God has given us.
Thank God for what you have.
Anyway Nice show and I learn one thing from this video That is Love one another and Spread humanity.
Thank you
We are Indian by circumstances not by choice.... We are different and unique which Indian should be proud to have northeast
What were the circumstances and what were or are (if they sill are) the choice?
Genuinely asking this.
I wish they could talk more seriously on the point of battle. They seem lost and confused 🤷♀️
All leading question. Rajdeep asks long questions with his own opinions and prejudices. Just let them talk and don't paraphrase their answers and want to just hear your own voice with your own sound bytes.
Me when someone called me Chinese etc etc.... First ignore when m in crowd place... Nd second,,, oi bihari, hutt... . Mokkel bei.... This is my answer... Or some time I start my English if he / she didn't gve me answer....then my answer is,,, India is still backward go for a school.. Lol there is govt school... Try this is quite funny nd interesting... If you can't then use your headphones nd ignore those all rubbish ppl... Who nvr wants to change themselves.....
The line which is mentioned it's exactly right we don't want to go outside but the reason we forcefully ourselves to go outside due to lack of infrastructure lack of education no jobs available no hospalities facilities please kindly give this are facility to us may be it will not be happen in my generation but for children's their future
Poor panelist. Could have expressed more the hidden stories angst of the northeast people.
Rwicha Basumatary I definitely agree with you...
They are just self praising themselves in a way and uttering nonsense.
Rwicha Basumatary sad..
@@rwichabasumatary3343 you can comment sis we will read n share all views together
I think Calling Chinky is not problem with me but we getting trouble in even during lockdown one mall guard refused to buy or inter the mall and this is the main problem of me. Just my view and openion. 🤔🙄😓
Whatever anyone calls me...i dont care,i am an INDIAN and i know it.(a naga from nagaland)
And btw madamjee-its not that the centre dont give out grants.we get grants.its up to our leaders and people to be responsible and use it to set up infrastructure and generate funds out of it. We are still behind because of me and you. No one to blame.
I love the way she said chinkiness hahaha👍 ... what we need to do is as a human being we need to accept races.
indians no matter which region of the country they are from have to understand that India is not just one nation or ethnicity or race... it is a landmass or a union of several different ethnicties, cultures, races, and languages... Until we dont understand this, we will never become one... and its mostly these hindi-speaking north indians who have this attitude of India being one culture, religion, and language...
Rajdeep talks about alienation and keep saying mainland india and north east india. Should'nt he not differentiate which is the north east India and mainland india. Isn't north east a part of mainland india? This conclave itself is racist and wants to solve racism issue.....
Dude don't get mad at this.
See a conversation needed to happen about this and I'm glad this is happening.
Anchor is telling simply Kohima and Nepal let me clarify Nepal is neibouring foreign country
Yes we feel really bad... 😠When they criticise us.. Who ever it is please do not criticise anyone.
Fed up of ignoring the people who catcalled us. We have to ignore them every time. It's time to accept us or give us Independence. We are fed up of sticking ourselves out and proclaiming we are from India when we are not wanted, respected and accepted.
What is the outcome of this conclave???
To start a conversation about racism.
We need to be self aware about our mistakes.
Indian is a diverse country. Everyone knows. Food is your priority, we have different culture and tradition.
I want Independance from Mainland India..i'm from Mizoram.
Nahi milega ! Kashmir bhi pela Gaya Hain tum bhi Pele jaoge.
Proud of being an Indian
I too want independence from mainland india, i m from manipur
India will be never peaceful Nation because you have lots of domestic issue ranging from racism to caste system to insurgency/political struggle.
And you guys(main land people) need not to travel but cast our your superiority mindset and teach your children that India is a diversity in culture, identity and in history.
And yes, we north eastern are different from main land India. We were forcefully occupied.
As I said first teach your children or do your homework first to stop all racism dear Indian.
Regards,
Raikui, Nagalim.
Me too from arunachal...
Me too
Mei yang Chang is Chinese... Why he is called to represent North East... You should call someone from North East.
Very Correct. They think We are same face Cut so let's Invite Chang 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah we sometimes acts as western sometimes Indian cuz the mainland just won't let us feel like Indian....
I've been called a Madrasi all my little life growing up in Delhi 😸😸😸
I will be proud if someone call me madrasi
@@nkrish9232 Not when the other person says it with hatred and racism!
I knew,Racism is everywere
it is fact that mainland people can call northeast people as chinki or napali because they are white & cute and also it is true that northeast people call mainland people as BIHARI because they are look like & black
Nagaland and Assam are repeatedly mentioned.... Other north east states should be equally acknowledged.... :(
Why not this channel invited common people from different north-east state.
Sir Indian racism is not only for north east, it's for every where because I am bengali and hum ko other part of India called fisher man, rosogolla and on our language, this type of racism is for every part, i. e bihari u called gamcha owala, and up pan owala, when up and bihari came bengal we racism them for his language and there life style
Exactly!!
Calling gujus and marwaris thieves, south Indians black or madrasi with negativity, calling Sikhs dumb.
This is not just towards NE people. It maybe more prominent for NE though, they too are racist towards the rest of the Indians.
I'm proud to be Asian Race..
Who is the real of hindo religion in india , Delhi Mumbai, chanei, Hyderabad , Goa, and north east india
Remember one that all northeast indians win when they participate in reality shows
In terms of looks and languages, people from the so called mainland India does not differ much from that of Pakistanis or Afghans and people from Bangladesh etc.
Beauty has it's own unique
DUDE THIS PEOPLE R TALKING ABOUT NORTHEASTERN PEOPLE WHATEVER WE NORTHEASTERN PEOPLE FACES ALL THE RACISM BUT THEIR IS ONLY ONE NORTHEASTERN GUY HERE BUT HE EVEN DON'T LIVE IN NORTHEAST MUCH N OTHERS NO BODY IS FROM NORTHEAST SPECIALLY CHANG IS NOT JUST BCOZ HE LOOKS ALIKE US NORTHEASTERN PEOPLE ONLY BCOZ OF THAT HE IS HERE AT THIS TALK BUT FOR NOTHING ELSE MAN HOW WOULD THEY KNOW THAT WHAT WE NORTHEASTERN PEOPLE FACE IN ANY OTHER PARTS OF INDIA MAN DUDE IF U WANNA TALK ABOUT NORTHEASTERN PEOPLE U SHOULD INVITE NORTHEASTERN PEOPLE NOT PEOPLE WHO LOOKS LIKE NORTHEASTERN PEOPLE IT IS SO GROSS OR WHATEVER
Agreed👍👍
We need that if Rajdeep Sardesai has agreed to having India Conclave in the north east looking forward to it.
Yes, indeed
Atleatst Rajdeep is not like the other anchor who forced words into the mouths of his guests. As for the anticipated conclave, it should be held in the states concerned. Not with a celebrity or an author or a person who has no experienced of the stereotypes or prejudices . Anyway the discussion was a move in the right direction . It would be even more effective if t the anticipated conclave be in Hindi as many in the so called mainland do not understand English. All the best Rajdeep! Thanks for highlighting this issue, which is significant for our national integration
We have to accept that we are different and that does not have to make us hate each other ...
Also pls remember Remember that northeast is. Political issue that you can’t solve in news room
After the long interview, the interviewer ends up calling Chang a Chinki🙄
india is poor just for they ignoring northeast people and northeast talented..if they support n loved people.india will be the no.1 country in the world. i wished so...you all are fool. that u ignored northeast people
Pm modi is trying......have patience bro
Bollywood, tollywood and isro e.t.c should look on north east
Yes 🤗🤗🇮🇳
Truth is the that we r very good towards north east people n love just because of there look and give them more attention
Really? This is how you people show good towards ne people n love just because of their look by calling chinki, nepali, bahadur, nepali oh wow kudos to you 👏👏
Adil is not tribal,I am tribal I face problem , even fellow Assamese buly us ,,,,
Here we live in diversity. It's common in India not for specogic to north east. If there are few bad elements in society but good also exists in huge number.
I am Khasi and people think i am chinese, garo, mizo, naga, assamese, nepali, non tribal 🤣🤣 btw I'm half Indian
If you are Khasi then I believe that you are an Indian as a matter of a fact that Meghalaya is in North East India.
Rajdeep why don't you say how many times you hosted India Today conclave at Northeast after this program???
I don't think Momo isn't a traditional food of any of the NE states. Our elders don't eat momos. It's just the young generation that are fond of it. We've our own traditional food.
Rajdeep m happy that you talk about kohima .nagaland. and our only wish is not only nagaland but hold conclave in some northeast India. Would really appreciate if you really act and walk the talk.
pls STOP RACISM on north-east INDIAN PEOPLE..
We r not Coronovirus nor chinese.. we r indians! Jai hind!
This guy really do recognise real issue
Calling chinki is intentionally very very different from calling Bengali or panjabi or any1 else belonging to India...do we,Indians call all chinese "chinki" when they are in India??...
FYI Northeastern people stick together because they are discriminated and to prevent that they do that and yup they mix well with everyone and yes there are certain who doesn't maybe of their personal choice or maybe they feel discriminated by the general crowd.
NE people going to mainland : counter lots of racism and obstacles...miss thier homelands
Mainlanders coming to NE :
Probably having the best time of their life.....leaving with a feeling to comeback again ....
Wow appreciate the plateform ... exactly ... we have to accept that different race make India .. somehow god knows
