      Does the distribution amount counts towards the total net amount? For example, he states he’s paying taxes on $50k, then received a distribution amount of $50k. Total net 100k. If I were purchasing a home, would the banks take into consideration the $50k or the $100k?

      @@Pinkestluv I've thought about this too, and it's the 100k if I'm not mistaken, because it's still income, just not income that counts toward the SE tax.

    6:33 This is partially correct and needs clarification.
    LLCs are taxed as Disregarded Entities (similar to Sole Proprietorships but they are not Sole Proprietorships because they are LLCs), partnerships, or Corporations (C-Corp and S-Corp). An LLC can elect to be taxed as a Corporation (a C-Corporation by default), but must invoke a Subchapter S election in order to be taxed as an S-Corp.
    Great points made in recommending using a payroll company when operating as an S-Corp. It's a pain to do it yourself. Also, paying yourself a reasonable salary is so important while operating as an S-Corp, which you pointed out so well. So many people underpay themselves so they can avoid paying the SE tax and they get flagged by the IRS.

    I'm new to being a business owner, and have been studying up on how to tackle my taxes. The number 1 thing I have learned is that taxes are hands down the worst thing about owning your own business, proving once again that the government ruins everything. Great video, so well broken down!

    • @SuWoopSparrow
      @SuWoopSparrow 2 роки тому +5

      Government doesnt ruin everything, the US is just a shit place to do business. Propaganda aside, third party research ranks the US very low for business freedom and entrepreneurship. Business or individual, the US really wants to waste your time. The fact that the IRS wants you to file obnoxious tax forms when they already have all of the information they need tells you this. Many other countries automatically or near automatically handle taxes.

    Great content, Prince Donnell. Let me add something as a CPA, this video is not stressed one important part of business taxation. You being tax based on your NET INCOME for business. In other words, don't forget to take any allowed business expenses or employee benefits according to the law. As an S Corp, you have more options, depending on where you live, on what you deduct for business expenses and employee benefit. Most importantly, as Prince Donnell said, get a consulting or asking a tax professional first before making any important decision, even if you decide not to employ them to file your business return. It is the job of a public accountant to help the public after all.

      @@Deedzproductionz I believe it's another product/service you can offer that's linked to the one you already do well. Example Your Apple and you started by selling computers. Music is a huge focal point for your customers, so you sell a music streaming service to those customer's. You started as a barber, you then also start making a special blend of hair products catered to your customers needs/wants.
