I tried to explain this to my husband because I too worked in the bank from the age of 17 until 46 years old. I tried to explain to him in layman’s term that your money is not technically sitting in the bank once you deposit it and that it’s actually being reinvested. I’ve taken majority of my money out but I cannot get him to remove his. Sometimes people are just stuck in their old mindset.

Do keep an emergency fund in a brick and mortar bank. Invest some in an Index Fund in a low fee mutual fund company like Vanguard. Do invest in an IRA/ROTH in an Index Fund. Max out your 401k. Do this yearly, after 20 years you will be shocked how much it can add up and quickly, due to compound interest and market raise.
If you ever hear the term "Run On The Banks" , immediatly go empty your account. Maybe keep $25 in there. The banks can stop you from making a withdrawal of your money when their cash reserves fall below a certain dollar amount. He touched on it a little in the video.
And also, if you have a large sum of cash and try to deposit it, the bank will contact FnCen and the feds will know about it and they can seize the money as a susoious deposit.

You are so right. I know because my advisor is able to find so many good plays. My portfolio literally went from $300k to $1.1m last year (not counting withdrawals I made) all really exciting. I guess it’s the experience and better judgement.

Several years ago I went with a friend to the bank. He had just gone through a divorce because his wife was cheating on him. As a part of the settlement he had a $25,000. Check. We went to a branch of his bank to cash it, and they sent him to another branch. We went there and they did not have the cash to redeem the check. He was told to come back later that afternoon to get the cash. We were very surprised that this major bank did not even have the cash to cover the check.

I only use my debit card if the CC isn't accepted..The CC is paid off every two weeks to insure I am not charged a monthly interest fee and the "cash back" benefits are rolled into my monthly "nut" in $25.00 increments and invested into my 60 month CD Ladder
While I agree with several of the statements in this video, such as the value of establishing a reserve account and thoughts about inflation, the point about losing your $10,000 deposit in the event of a bank failure is flat wrong. The large majority of banks in this county are FDIC insured, meaning your deposit account at minimum is insured by the government up to $250k if the bank failed.
They may say they are insured up to 250k but that doesn't mean you are insured up to that amount. When and if the bank fails the government steps in and make decisions on how much they are going to pay each depositer and it may not (probably will not ) be the full amount you have in the bank. If you don't believe me, please go ahead and check this out. Ask someone in authority at your bank, they should explain it to you.

Every payday I withdraw as much cash as I can and leave the rest for bills. I have a very full mattress where I keep it. Do not trust ANYONE with my hard earned money. I have some money in a savings account and it earned .16 cents last month. That money is like my impound account for prop tax and home insurance. I figure if I try to put that money in the bank to cover the checks they'll just hold it for 4 or 5 days before I can use it.

Great information. If I may add, investing and saving are two different things. One comes with risk and the other comes with guaranteed. Most people shy away from investment because of the risk factor and they are not expert in this field. In order to be good at investments you must first accept lost.
You can't accept loss when you're barely making ends meet. People keep money in the banks because they need liquid cash to pay bills or buy the baby diapers. We're not going to carry lots of cash around and get robbed at gun point.

I tried to explain this to my husband because I too worked in the bank from the age of 17 until 46 years old. I tried to explain to him in layman’s term that your money is not technically sitting in the bank once you deposit it and that it’s actually being reinvested. I’ve taken majority of my money out but I cannot get him to remove his. Sometimes people are just stuck in their old mindset.

Do keep an emergency fund in a brick and mortar bank.
Invest some in an Index Fund in a low fee mutual fund company like Vanguard.
Do invest in an IRA/ROTH in an Index Fund. Max out your 401k.
Do this yearly, after 20 years you will be shocked how much it can add up and quickly, due to compound interest and market raise.
Work for Vanguard for 3 years and I learned a lot. It is one of the best investment companies.
Brick & mortar bank? Like a credit union?
If you ever hear the term "Run On The Banks" , immediatly go empty your account. Maybe keep $25 in there. The banks can stop you from making a withdrawal of your money when their cash reserves fall below a certain dollar amount. He touched on it a little in the video.
And also, if you have a large sum of cash and try to deposit it, the bank will contact FnCen and the feds will know about it and they can seize the money as a susoious deposit.

Several years ago I went with a friend to the bank. He had just gone through a divorce because his wife was cheating on him.
As a part of the settlement he had a $25,000. Check. We went to a branch of his bank to cash it, and they sent him to another branch. We went there and they did not have the cash to redeem the check. He was told to come back later that afternoon to get the cash. We were very surprised that this major bank did not even have the cash to cover the check.

Thank you for the video. I have come to the realization awhile ago. It is much needed for those who have not realized what the banking system is actually doing with our money, with no rewards or interest. If we borrow from the bank, they would charge so much interest.
No matter how hard you train, if your diet is poor you probably won't make any significant progress. You can't out-train a bad diet and I can't emphasize this enough. It is the same with investment.

Its crazy how you can live your life completely oblivious to the necesary teachings and understandings of everyday experiences. I have been doing it all wrong when it comes to my money in terms of how I save. Because of this video, I am able to make all the necessary corrections in regards to my bank accounts, how to properly use a bank for what a bank is for, understanding the difference between debit cards vs the benifits of credit cards. Extremely point by point video Well I will also say this here, Most people don't understand the concept of "buying the dip" buying the dip is all about buying digital assets when their prices are down and selling off when the price rises. Holding is great, although trading is far more profitable. While I agree with several of the statements in this video, such as the value of establishing a reserve account and thoughts about inflation, the point about losing your $10,000 deposit in the event of a bank failure is flat wrong. The large majority of banks in this county are FDIC insured, meaning your deposit account at minimum is insured by the government up to $250k if the bank failed.
They may say they are insured up to 250k but that doesn't mean you are insured up to that amount. When and if the bank fails the government steps in and make decisions on how much they are going to pay each depositer and it may not (probably will not ) be the full amount you have in the bank. If you don't believe me, please go ahead and check this out. Ask someone in authority at your bank, they should explain it to you.

Great information. If I may add, investing and saving are two different things. One comes with risk and the other comes with guaranteed. Most people shy away from investment because of the risk factor and they are not expert in this field. In order to be good at investments you must first accept lost.
You can't accept loss when you're barely making ends meet. People keep money in the banks because they need liquid cash to pay bills or buy the baby diapers. We're not going to carry lots of cash around and get robbed at gun point.

Unfortunately the world is heading towards digital currency...but not just currency everything is being digitized. Its some pros to it but mainly cons because we are allowing wicked individuals to manage us. So it will mainly be used as a more sufficient tracking, tracing and taxing system than we already have.
I diversity.,..gold silver cash tools crypto . looking to buy some land also...also keep extra emergency supplies and extra food and protection.....and the rest is all free fall and course of action. We don't really know if a FULLY digital system will work or how long it will work.......best to hold on to physical assets .
