What a profound comment. I’m so moved. Caring for someone with dementia is incredibly challenging, and it sounds like you’re going through a very tough time. Your dedication and love are truly admirable, even when things are difficult. Remember to take care of yourself, too, and lean on support systems when you need them. You’re doing an amazing job. Sending you strength and compassion.
Good sir. Please remember that it is the dementia talking not your beautiful wife. I’m betting she still loves you with all her heart. My best to both of you.
Her low notes have an unpleasant nasal tone. Lots of aaaih. Old English nasty ash. Beautiful upper register, though, and she kills the lyrics. Choir is magnificent, as usual.
Ex Trinity chorister here - the Trinity Chapel has almost ideal acoustics for choral work, and a world-class organ. Kings also do much of their recording there, given the extreme echo in their own (glorious) chapel.
The choral sound was nothing short of breathtaking. The harmony and clarity of each note created a truly magical experience. The soloist did an extraordinary delivery---lovely, lovely voice! ♥️
I happened to run into this wonderful piece of music by Michel LeGrand, about four years ago. My mother LOVED this song…but she only knew the Ingram/Austin version. She was a choral director, mezzo soprano performer - rare, beautiful operatically trained voice. Music was her life. "I know the way I feel for you is now or never, The more I love the more that I'm afraid That in your eyes I may nor see forever, forever. If we can be the best of lovers, and be the best of friends. If we can try with every day to make it better as it grows, With any luck then I suppose- THE MUSIC NEVER ENDS." Growing up I've always been a Michel Legrand fan. This morning as I was having coffee and some toast with peanut butter, I opened my computer and saw this post by a colleague on fb, so I thought I'd give it a listen. Just as when the solo came in, I found my self unexpectedly bursting in tears. Not only the beautiful rendition touched my heart, but after not hearing this song in a long time, it shook my inner feelings, touched my profound and deep emotion, my soul. And with all the craziness that is happening in the world right now, if we couldn't live together in peace and harmony, I ask, "how do WE keep the music playing?" Ms. Helen Charlston, your solo is just stunning. Just the perfect amount of emotion, warmth, temperament, expression and grace, yet very powerful. I could listen to your fantastic voice all day. Very inspiring. Thank you. As we are currently inhibited from doing what we do best and love, this is one of those perfect reminders not to lose hope, and that sometime, someday we will be back together in concert-- for love conquers all, and that any form of hate has no place in our heart. Then I suppose- truly music never ends.
This is a really moving arrangement and Helen is outstanding. Fantastic vocal talent backing her too. I hope this performance is enjoyed by many in the future.

I started the Self Isolation Choir course today learning this sublime song with the fabulous Joanna Forbes L’Estrange and the wonderful Helen Charlston. We’ve had the privilege and joy of singing with Helen and Fieri for many of our SIC works.
This is simply stunning. What an outstanding performance. Absolutely amazing. Listening over and over and getting chills. Congratulations Mr Layton and the singers
amazing singing and Helen Charlton is superb as soloist. But for me, it is the bass in pink shirt and headphones behind Layton grooving at 3:10 that makes it for me. HE IS SO INTO THE MUSIC he cannot restrain himself.
Absolutely beautiful - thanks so much to Helen, Stephen Layton and everyone involved in this stunning recording. I can't believe I've never heard this song before and can't wait to learn it, with Helen as soloist, with the Self-Isolation Choir. If you love it too, why not sign up to the course with SIC?
Lyrics: How do you keep the music playing? How do you make it last? How do you keep the song from fading Too fast? How do you lose yourself to someone And never lose your way? How do you not run out of new things To say? And since you know we're always changing How can it be the same? And tell me how year after year You're sure your heart won't fall apart Each time you hear his name? I know the way I feel for you is now or never The more I love, the more that I'm afraid That in your eyes I may not see forever, forever If we can be the best of lovers Yet be the best of friends If we can try with every day to make it better as it grows With any luck then I suppose The music never ends I know (how do you keep the music playing) The way I feel for you is now or never (how do you make it last) The more I love the more that I'm afraid (how do you keep the song from fading) That in your eyes I may not see forever (Keep the song from fading) Forever If we can be the best of lovers Yet be the best of friends If we can try with every day to make it better as it goes With any luck then I suppose The music never ends (source: LyricFind)
Fell in love with the Tony Bennett /Aretha Franklin version, then came across this, makes me cry, simply awesome! Can't stop listening to the music playing.
Trinity College, thank you very much for bringing us this beautiful music! It is Thanksgiving here in the United States today. I wish you all many blessed days to come, and much to be thankful for. 🇺🇸
Wowsers! And other American low-brow but meaning-well euphemisms. I was a singer in the Cantare Chorale and wish we had thought of this, but after hearing this most perfect version (and I have heard Tony and Frank, and Barbra, and well, you know) I am cornswogeled and gollywhomped. Just a most perfecto arrangement of notes and voices that have ever graced any venue, even a cathedral. And I once toured there but they were not there. Well, I am 81, so they were probably not born yet. Okay. They are all whippersnappers. But I loved what they did. I forgot the !!!!
I keep coming back to this incredibly sensitive rendition and no matter how much I try, I fall apart at the same place every time...”that in your eyes I may not see forever...forever..” ...
I heard Carl Anderson sing this piece , and loved it !! Listening to Trinity College Choir , unbelievable!!! Absolutely beautiful !! If Trinity choose it , it must be good 👌!!
I had the pleasure of hearing this choir at the Festival of the Sound in Parry Sound, Ontario during their North American tour. They were wonderful that evening, but this piece surpasses even that performance. A simply magical rendition of a beautiful arrangement. I have listened to this every day for the last two weeks - can’t get enough of the piece and the angelic performance by Helen Charlston. Incredible!!!
Great song and a wonderful performance. Congratulations to all for showing us how moving this song can be. Please put it on a CD. Scala should be playing this.
All my life, the LORD has kept the music coming...and though there were dry spots that frustrated me..I knew it was for a purpose...like fasting that would produce the fattening of the soul...HE has been faithful...its always RICH WITH EXCELLENCE...PRAISE GOD!
No words can possibly do justice to this performance. All I can say is that it moved me, as others have posted, to tears. Utterly, utterly beautiful. To Helen Charlston and choir and choral director, thank you so very much Russell Schofield
Incredible coherence, proportions and fluidity of sound. Pure magic. Your harmoniousness delicately hugs the listener and simultaneously caresses his heart. Greetings to the indispensable conductor Stephen Layton.
A sublime blending of voices. Thanks be to Msrrs. Layton and L'Estrange and the Trinity Choir. Words fail to do justice regarding Ms. Charlston. ...and could we be remiss in regards to the inspiration of Legrand and the Bergmans. The song originally came up along the closing titles to 'Best Friends', starring Burt Reynolds and Goldie Hawn. It fell into relative obscurity for me until resurfacing in the Sinatra/Quincy Jones collaboration 'LA is My Lady' whereupon T. Bennett, Shirley Bassey, J. Mathis and others, many of whom took it over and made it their signature song.
If Heaven has a sound, it´s the sound of this choir.
Fantastic 🙂

Merci mt Legrand Un patronyme à votre hauteur!
OMG ! Thank god for youtube suggestion algorithm ! THIS IS SO GORGEOUS!!!!
If you need a good cry this will do it ❤❤❤
I started the Self Isolation Choir course today learning this sublime song with the fabulous Joanna Forbes L’Estrange and the wonderful Helen Charlston. We’ve had the privilege and joy of singing with Helen and Fieri for many of our SIC works.
This is simply stunning. What an outstanding performance. Absolutely amazing. Listening over and over and getting chills. Congratulations Mr Layton and the singers
Absolutely amazing soloist and accompaniment - just wonderful!
Music can be so powerful! Outstanding!
Well done!
CHILLS... AWESOME. 2022
VOICES OF ANGELS.
FOR HARRISON SÁNCHEZ
BENDICIONES
amazing singing and Helen Charlton is superb as soloist. But for me, it is the bass in pink shirt and headphones behind Layton grooving at 3:10 that makes it for me. HE IS SO INTO THE MUSIC he cannot restrain himself.
Agree
Absolutely beautiful - thanks so much to Helen, Stephen Layton and everyone involved in this stunning recording. I can't believe I've never heard this song before and can't wait to learn it, with Helen as soloist, with the Self-Isolation Choir. If you love it too, why not sign up to the course with SIC?
Lyrics:
How do you keep the music playing?
How do you make it last?
How do you keep the song from fading
Too fast?
How do you lose yourself to someone
And never lose your way?
How do you not run out of new things
To say?
And since you know we're always changing
How can it be the same?
And tell me how year after year
You're sure your heart won't fall apart
Each time you hear his name?
I know the way I feel for you is now or never
The more I love, the more that I'm afraid
That in your eyes I may not see forever, forever
If we can be the best of lovers
Yet be the best of friends
If we can try with every day to make it better as it grows
With any luck then I suppose
The music never ends
I know (how do you keep the music playing)
The way I feel for you is now or never (how do you make it last)
The more I love the more that I'm afraid
(how do you keep the song from fading)
That in your eyes I may not see forever
(Keep the song from fading)
Forever
If we can be the best of lovers
Yet be the best of friends
If we can try with every day to make it better as it goes
With any luck then I suppose
The music never ends

Fell in love with the Tony Bennett /Aretha Franklin version, then came across this, makes me cry, simply awesome! Can't stop listening to the music playing.
I always feel goosebumps every time I listen to this song
What an angelic voice with the angels choir, love it ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Trinity College, thank you very much for bringing us this beautiful music!
OMG. i shed tears listening to this.
Thanks for bringing tears to my eyes with this gorgeous performance!
All my life, the LORD has kept the music coming...and though there were dry spots that frustrated me..I knew it was for a purpose...like fasting that would produce the fattening of the soul...HE has been faithful...its always RICH WITH EXCELLENCE...PRAISE GOD!
WTF
Soooo angelic....wonderful, pitch perfect...so amazing! Very very heavenly. Thank you for showcasing such enormous talents!
A beautiful voice that melts one’s heart…music such like this transcends time.
Having sung in choirs since 12, to hear this group was precious to me...and the song echoes my feelings. Thank you.
Astonishingly beautiful performance.
Bravo to the Prime Vocal Performer, of course but the whole Choir is just audibly stunning.
Thank You All
I am literally crying. This is incredible!
Me too.. cant stop crying
Like a musical prayer to love...
No words can possibly do justice to this performance. All I can say is that it moved me, as others have posted, to tears. Utterly, utterly beautiful. To Helen Charlston and choir and choral director, thank you so very much

Absolutely stunning arrangement and amazing vocal harmony of this beautiful song. Gives me chills every time I hear it. ❤
One of the most beautiful rendition I heard, her expression is captivating.
I agree. This is the only rendition that brings tears to your eyes every time.
Absolutely fantastic!!!! The first time I heard this song was by Tony Bennett and George Michael. Both versions just fantastic.
One of the loveliest things I have listened to in years - thank you so much.... keep doing it!
Worthy of a Bach's chorale. Simply beautiful.
