    This is very neat! thanks for explaining. I have a question regarding the tabs. Could you switch content (without making the content part of the component) when clicking on each tab and still have the all three button states?
    Also when you created button states in the first half of the video. Creating the button states this way means if I have to change anything on the buttons are I have to change it manually on both components? Could there be a main component that can be used to change all the component set?
    Sorry if answer to these questions are very obvious. I just started learning this powerful tool and trying to understand the concepts

    • @TimGabe
      @TimGabe  2 роки тому

      hey Zain!
      first question:
      not quite sure I follow. could you describe more?
      for the second question:
      you could create a base button component and then duplicate it and create a new component based on that component. that way you could make changes to the base that would apply to the other components 👌😃

    • @feelcollins4358
      @feelcollins4358 Рік тому +1

      I had the same issue but I got persistent with it and finally found the solution and it was quite simple once you realize it. In the original Tab interaction for the prototype, remove the link connecting "Hover" to "Active" state so you basically only have "Inactive" connected to "Hover" state (Don't delete the Active state because you can use it later). Then on the multiple Tabs interaction, follow all the steps in the video and set the Tab 1,2,3 to "Active" state property on each respective row.

    Ok dood... but the content didnt change below your tabs - which is the whole point of having tabbed navigation, right? To go to each tabs unique content.
    Do you need to have each tab, with its unique content below in every variant or is there another way to link the tabs to the unique tab content?

    Hi Tim,
    after creating a card component similar to this,
    I nested it its instances into a carousel component for horizontal scrolling
    but after nesting it, I am not able to click tab1, tab2 tab3.
    Any fix for this ?

    • @TimGabe
      @TimGabe  2 роки тому +1

      hey Mohit! it’s hard to say without seeing the design, but as long as the individual cards do have clickable tabs when isolated, they should also be clickable when used in an external component 🧐

    • @mohitthapa7092
      @mohitthapa7092 2 роки тому

      Okay, I apologise for not explaining properly,
      So I have created a component set of 3 cards say A, B and C, each having instances of tab 1,2,3 similar to what you have shown in the tutorial
      Now I have taken instances of A,B and C and made 3 carousel which includes all three of these.
      In first carousel A is of original size, while B and C are 70% of their original size
      Now I have created 3 sets of these
      so as to get that animation of small card coming infront and getting zoomed in while we perform drag action
      I am able to get the animation but iam not able to click those tab1,2,3 of cards A,B and C

    Me again. When in the ending of this video, you drag and drop your tab bar and buttons into the prototype and it snaps and expands responsively to the content you just added:

    alright, so although this is a good video to describe the process... the process sucks. I'm not sure if figma has updated since you made this video as i only started using it, but they need to make this process simpler. IE make tabs act like radio buttons. Put tabs within a parent group and if one is selected, all others are deselected. If you need a new tab, people shouldnt have to make a ton of other variations, and connect the dots, They should just place another tab in the parent group.
