I live in the same area Eric Garner lost his life years ago. A man who sold loose cigarettes which is unlawful, yet multiple police used to restrain a frustrated man. Two men who lose their life’s for very small offenses. A number of years ago a young white man murdered multiple people at a movie theater in Denver and lived to stand trial. The crime shouldn’t be excused, but taking black men’s’ life’s as a result of selling loose cigarettes or using a fake twenty is beyond humanity. I’m empathetic to the fear and struggle that many African Americans endure. I also ask that you please not feel all police intend harm to you. There are bad seeds though. As a white man it broke my spirit to see what happened to George. His crime didn’t demand such a reaction. A fake twenty is an offense, but not to have four officers kneel on him.
I live in the same area Eric Garner lost his life years ago. A man who sold loose cigarettes which is unlawful, yet multiple police used to restrain a frustrated man. Two men who lose their life’s for very small offenses.
A number of years ago a young white man murdered multiple people at a movie theater in Denver and lived to stand trial. The crime shouldn’t be excused, but taking black men’s’ life’s as a result of selling loose cigarettes or using a fake twenty is beyond humanity.
I’m empathetic to the fear and struggle that many African Americans endure. I also ask that you please not feel all police intend harm to you. There are bad seeds though.
My prayer is that true healing will arise. That black men and woman would be treated fairly with law enforcement. By GOD’s grace may police reform arise. Body cams are not sufficient.
