    This might be the best soldering video I’ve ever seen. Your speech pacing and pronunciation is very good. That you for the effort it took.

    Thanks! I'm so glad you spoke and didn't play stupid irritating music in the background!!

    I know very little about soldering but could follow this. You should become a teacher.

    48x 24A lifepo4 3C electric bike, does XT60 or XT90 go? Also, is the female connector plugged into the battery side or the other side?

    • @certifiedpossum1638
      @certifiedpossum1638 2 місяці тому +1

      XT60 should be enough for 24A. My 48V 25A bike runs no prob with a 60.

    Is there different xt60 females? There is no hole on the cable side : it is flat unlike the xt60 males from amass

  • @grendelkeep
    @grendelkeep 11 місяців тому +2

    At 1:45 you mixed up female and male part. The female is the one on the left, not on the right.

      You need some education budy, he told it right, the one on the right is the female connector because is has 2 holes inside. Google it out of you wanna say more.

    I thought the copper has to be fully inserted into the hole. No wonder I had difficulty inserting it in as my wire is tightly fit with the hole

    Is it possible to use xt60 for:
    300w solar panel cable wire to (xt60) ---> solar charge controller?

    • @pandubek387
      @pandubek387  2 роки тому

      AFAIK the max current output of the 300W solar panel is less than 25 Amps so the XT60 should be enough. If you want something more durable I suggest to use XT90, but please remember that neither of them are waterproof.

      @@pandubek387 true, but you can pack with grease first, before plugging them in.

    Dlaczego różne website określają różnie polarity tego konektora? Przeważnie zaokrąglony jest positive. Gdzie tu jakieś normy? Komu wierzyć. Mam kilka urządzeń, które również maja plus na zaokrąglonym pinie.

    You were doing great until you put solder in the connector pin and then reheated it to insert the wire. Just insert the tinned wire into the untinned connector pin and use a jig to hold the wire steady. Then heat the connector and wire with the iron in one hand and apply solder with the other hand. When you stop adding solder, pull the iron away, and let the connection cool down before moving it. You should never reheat solder or heat it for too long, and you certainly should never try to insert the wire into the connector while reheating the solder that you shouldn't have put into the connector beforehand.

    Czyli jak rozumiem, to grot z opisu pod filmikiem będzie pasował do Wep 936? W opisie tego grotu nie wspominali o niej i wolę się upewnić. Akurat mam tę lutownice więc, uff.

    it's much easier to solder wire-to-wire, these look a bit scary

    Tried this... for 2 fucking hours. And yet the godamn wire wont solder into the plug. I can tin the wire, and the plug, but when I put the wire tip on to the plug, and press the wire into the plug with soldering iron. fuck all of nothng happens, no matter what tip I use or how long I'm pressing it.

    • @markcm
      @markcm 3 місяці тому +1

      It sounds like your soldering iron might be too low power/wattage. Regardless of the tip size, a low power iron might struggle like you are describing as the heat conducting mass increases (both the wire and the connector are dissipating heat from the iron and the iron may not have enough power to keep up). Particularly if you have two connectors paired together, this is briefly discussed at the 2:00 mark in the video.

    The mask isn't that necessary if you use solder without lead in it, which is illegal in most countries by now anyway and not available in most places

      You can still get it, in EU Cynel is a great brand which is based in Poland!

      The smoke is flux and the lead won't kill you. Lead-free solder sucks.
