I really appreciate you for taking your time to make this video! I wasn’t sure how to set up my bow properly but this video really helped out. Definitely worth the thumbs up!
I'm thinking of going to New York Juilliard College School for Music. It's ranked 1 hardest school to get into. You should go also if your going to go for music.
Um, the pencil in the middle you said didn't touch but it should and you needed to loosen it. You mean tighten it? Loosening it will make the distance larger
No, it doesn’t matter, rosins good for your bow and you can NEVER have too much of it despite what she said, unless ur in a performance, then restoring yourself as you don’t want rosin to slowly cover your violin throughout. Also, make sure to wipe the rosin off your violin (not your bow) after each use :)
My rosin that I received is really really hard. Like rock hard. Do I need to soften it before I put it on my bow? Or how does it work if ur rosin is really really hard? The instructions say to use a knife or sand paper when using ur rosin for the first time, but I'm not sure how to do that. I have to SEE ppl doing it. I can't just read or hear it & do it. I'm a visual learner.
It may be that you have a new bow and new rosin. In this situation, wiping the bow with the rosin will do no good. You first have to scrape the exposed area of the rosin first before running it over the hair of the bow. For this you can use almost any metallic object.
If your violin bow does not make sound use the bottom of the bow scratch the rosin until it gets ugly put it on your bow and test it
you deserve a medal! thanks!
I love u! A life savor you are indeed :)

Thank you so much for this! Getting back into viola after a decade and was SO confused. THANK you!

I have violin lessons and I’m already good after one lesson!
Just added to my son's play list! Thanks!
I'm new to the violin but so it might have something to do with my bowing technique but I get much nicer sound when I heavily rosin my bow.
Ayanna Fit Maybe it's the type of rosin you have, most of them don't need to be rosined so heavily.
thanks, saved my life

Gracie Mosko nah dude she tightened it so much that the wood straightened, so that when she loosened it, it returned to its natural position

Hey i was just wondering do u have to blade the rosin????
Yeah only when you first get it.
I've heard you don't want to leave the rosin on the hair after your finished. is this true?
If so how do I get it off?

Scratch lines across it with a knife. You're basically stuffing it up, so it looses its hard slick look.
How we can be aware of that your bow get enough rosin or not?
I guess you figured out by now, but you know by the sound
I WAS CRINGING WHEB THAT BOW WAS SO TIGHT IT WAS STRAIGHT OMG ahhh worst 10 seconds of my life
My granddaughter is playing the violin =-O
The Moors were great teachers diring their 400 years in Italy. The result is Stradivari and Guinari .
so that's what the sticky stuff was for, no wonder my violin never made sounds
L K it's not sticky...
L K your just like me
It's called rosin it helps stick the bow to your instrument string it's from trees

You can buy some at a local music store/ school or you can get it on the internet 😊
Reynante Santiago rosin*
She literally spelled it in the video.
What do you use to get the rosin on your bow?
She used a cloth to hold the rosin
I have a problem with tighting my bow because its confusing
Where's the arrow?
I am confused about the Tightening of the bow's hair
There is a twisting thing on the bottom of the bow then use that to adjust it
