YESSS this is definitely a perfect way to line up multi-hooped designs. Sometimes the digitizer set up other ways but it really depends on the design, but pin point placement is perfect for Multi-hooping. :)
If you're trying to line up the center of the name with the line that you have drawn on your fabric use the "grid pin point placement" option. Then you'll select the left center dot and the right center dot. Each dot you'll line up with the line that is drawn on your fabric. Always make sure to "set" your point once you get get it lined up where you want it. :) Hope this makes sense.
