🤣🤣 “better not be mixing that in…” 🤣💀💀💀
The bore snake in a sock is a good ideal. I use one of those delicate garment bags, the mesh kind, and wash my bore snakes in side of them.
Nice video! I've been thinking about trying these and getting away from all those cleaning patches and running cleaning rod multiple times through the bore.
Go for it! Be sure to subscribe, thanks.
I still use cleaning patches first for my old original Remington 44 model 1858 and after the patches I use a bore snake. My old Remington is too expensive to not clean it probably. I diassemble it to the last screw and clean every part and then I put on some grease on the parts that wears out by shooting. Maybe I do too much work in cleaning, but I hope I can have a functioning Remington for the rest of my life.
Yep. A little Dawn soap warm water and hand wash and air dry. Done
No doubt
@@Moondog2A yes, sir.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the wife was the star of the video... I also knew that was coming. Hahahaha
You know it. Hope you subscribe.
Bahaha omg, the wife with the realness!! I feel ya brother.
I'm ashamed to admit a mistake I made with a bore snake. Fortunately it happened in my garage and not on an expensive guided hunt! I was attempting to use a bore snake on my Winchester .270, which I had done numerous times before. This time, I somehow had an overhand knot at the end of the bore snake and as I pulled the bore snake through the barrel, it became stuck. I proceeded to pull even harder thinking I could overpower it. Nope. It just became further stuck. I tried to dislodge it from the muzzle end using a cleaning rod. No good. Eventually I had to take it to a gunsmith and have him get it out. Cost? $132.00. All because of a knot I neglected to see as I pulled thru the bore snake. Thankfully it didn't happen on a hunt. That would have been disastrous. My bad. Never again.
Ouch! Thanks for sharing because that's a cautionary tale we can all learn from.
Great video. 👍🏻 Thank you for sharing!

Nice presentation. I like your approach to things.
Though I have several bore snakes for different caliber weapons, I'm with you 100% that they are not the definitive cleaning device for a firearm. Though better than nothing, it's not a substitute for proper maintenance. My weapons are meticulously cleaned after use. The bore snakes are often not going to be used much. Usually, just for pulling some fouling out prior to a complete cleaning and lubrication with proper tools.
Thanks. Please subscribe.
@@Moondog2A Oh, I subscribed the minute I saw this video! Thanks for sharing your straightforward thoughts and opinions.
well as far as the barrel, that bore is bright and shiny after one pull of the bore snake, so I'd say it's WAY better than nothing
Can you please share what else you do to the bore, either than bore snake? I put solvent on the snake's bristles and run that through several times. Then put a ring of oil close to the loop and the bore is shiny.
Being a retired gunsmith and police armourer, my cleaning routine is very direct. Upon end of shooting, when I go into the house, I immediately begin cleaning my weapons. After trying dozens of oils, cleaners, and such I use Clenzoil for my needs. Its just the best of all.
I use conventional rods and such. And everything is cleaned. Clenzoil goes on every part. A five to ten minute soak, cotton patches on fitted jags, and every part brushed off and wiped clean. If the bore and chambers are still fouled, the a bore brush gets the rest, with clean patches afterwards. Then all parts are wiped down with a light coat of Clenzoil, and I'm done. I have never had a speck of rust form on any weapon treated with Clenzoil. Can't say the same about others that have failed.
In the years that I had my shop, 75% of all weapons brought in for repair were simply poorly maintained and filthy! People do not maintain their weapons. Some even brag about how they don't clean them after several hundred or even thousands of rounds. Frankly, they're morons.
Damn, I swore I was in my house for a second... good tip, I`ll use the shop sink instead.
Probably better for your marriage if you do. Hope you subscribe.
Thanks for your amazing video !

Thanks!
This helped a lot, I had many of those same questions! And better get back to work on your wife’s laundry man, don’t want to upset her 😅
Hey happy wife happy life right? I'd stick to hand washing in the sink LOL
Wise man
I'd say "ONLY in with YOUR laundry my dear"
You tell her. lol
Nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Question, does putting the snake in a sock significantly damage the sock? if thats the case an old worn out sock might be better than a nicer one.
Surely. And orphan socks are the best.
I wouldn't put anything with oils and sovlents in my machine
I don't blame you.
What’s funny woman are nuts when it comes to there washer and dryer’s 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks. Hope you subbed.
I’ve heard that voice before too
Haha. Right?! Hope you subscribe.
My bore snake got stuck and when trying to pull it out, the cord broke right at the muzzle break 😒. I have no way of pulling it out at the moment. I'm pretty upset bc everything suggested hasn't worked. I'm really upset and about to throw the dam.n thing out the window. Any suggestions?
Is the loop end inside your barrel? Sold brass bore clearing rod and lots of rem oil?
@@Moondog2A Thanks for the advice. Had to create a brass drill bit to slowly remove material. It took over 4 hour but it finally came out. Checked the barrel and almost no damage thank God. I'm *never* using a bore snake again! Only cleaning rods and patches from now on.
@@BeReal918 Sounds like a horrible experience! How did you make the brass drill bit??? I'm curious, what brand snake was it? Did the smaller paracord lead snap or did the main body of the snake snap? Did yours have a loop end at the back to pull it out?
2:47 LOL!!!
Hope you subscribe.
you need to tell her not to put her clothes in with your bore snakes, and also put the seat up after using the toilet....:)
Right after Mother's Day.
Tip number one... don't let your wife know you are washing your snake in dirty Sox inside her washing machine!
She can hear me from 1K away I tell ya. Hope you subscribe.
I swear all these women go to the say school ! Can’t get away with nothing . 😳 🤣😂😂🤣
Your fine is funny....
Do the chemicals hurt the washer ?
Nah. It's not like you're pouring bottles of gun cleaner into this thing. It's no worse than washing your car cleaning rags. Or painting smocks into the washer.
I stopped using pistol rods 10 years ago
Nah F it, if I buy this I only use bore snake. I will not use a rod and patch anymore. But yes of course you will clean the gun itself with a deep clean, but the bore will just be done with the boresnake. Either you use the boresnake often for good enough cleaning for the bore every range trip or do rod and patch at your whatever thousand bullets cleaning.
100% Thanks for posting. Hope you subscribed.
