I think it's very admirable they didn't just cut and run and let it die, they're actually trying to fix their game, and I think it's in the gaming communities best interest to show some slack when a developer acknowledges they fucked up and are trying their best to fix it instead of just hating a game no matter what they do cause it wasn't what you hoped for when it first came out. Let developers know that just because they messed up doesn't mean they can't bounce back and honestly it should be a lesson to all who pre-order games and fall into the hype. If it was up to the developers alone, given how well they've treated this entire situation, I'd bet they wouldn't have even released it last year, publisher deadlines seem to be the real problem here, I don't feel like they lied so much as they weren't given the time to create everything they intended, look at how much content they've developed in one year alone. I was part of those disappointed and upset with how the game turned out when it was first released, tho I never bought it because I waited like an intelligent consumer. However I feel like they've earned a bit of forgiveness and I feel confident in buying the game at this point knowing they've been diligent in continuing to create free major updates in a fairly timely manner, and I think it's important to remember this game is developed by an entire team, so even if one or two people at the top tend to spew bull, there's still a dedicated team of people under them that seem to actually care about the product they've created and shouldn't be punished for it.
Reading all the "but they lied, we shouldn't forgive them!" comments is saddening. As you said, they're doing a lot better than many game devs regarding fixing their mistake
Loponstorm here is the problem. They never actually came out and acknowledged it. They never said, "yes we lied, we are sorry, and we will make it right". Until they come out and admit that they lied, apologize, and promise to make it right, they don't deserve forgiveness. They made a fucking fortune on this game. Making it right is the absolute least they should do.
You don't give absolute liars any slack. The devs of this game lied, over and over and over. They said shit they ABSOLUTELY knew was not true. Fuck these guys and everything they will ever release.
Alex Siemers Of course. The internet is a polarizing place. Everything that becomes memetic to dislike will continue to be disliked for the sake of the meme. It even happens to things that are universally liked; it becomes a meme to hate the people who like popular things. It's easier to hate something than to change your perception and understanding to judge something without bias. Even if they added every feature promised that was missing at launch, people have ingrained their distate and distrust for the developer; regardless if it's good or bad or right or wrong.
"Kalezian in referring to once the promised features are finally added, and people will still shit on it." Do you understand why the people will hate it?
I bought it on release and of course my surprise when it wasn't like the trailer, but intead of hating it and selling it, I kept it because A) I wouldn't get my 60 bucks back and B) they could still pump out updates to make it better, keep in mind that this game was created by 14 guys and sony just pushed them to release it...
I'd say it's maybe 80-90% there to what I was expecting/hoping for at launch. That last 10-20% is compensated for by a load of stuff that was never mentioned in the original trailers so in a way it's now more than I hoped it would be. And they're still working on it. I hated them for the launch and never bothered with the last two updates cause it didn't fix the broken gameplay. Now however, they have definitely gained my forgiveness. I haven't forgotten what they did, but I think they've earned a second chance.
Reginald Morris. Because thats a massively non trivial thing to acomplish in such a minor piece of software as a game? Just creating a simulator that maps the orbits of dots around other dots on a galactic scale would be a huge project.
No, because the distance would be so massive that the technology behind KSP (moving the world around the player, not vice versa) would have to be added on top of all the fucking procedural shit, it would require a whole revision for a useless addition that only complicates things.
Kudos to the NMS team for sticking to the failed release and continuing to try to make it viable. Thanks Scott Manley for an XLNT video that has made me want to give it another shot.
Justin Robinson I wouldn't go that far, it did go down to $30 pretty quick after release. At this point in time, I want the developers to keep trying and not give up.
Scott you always seem to have the right pedagogic and psychological approach to explaining the video games you play and like. I always liked you, I have followed you since very early Kerbal Space Program, you had an important role in the late part of my upbringing. Thanks for existing.
I loved this game at launch, got kinda pissed off, and I stopped playing it after a few days. THEN, the updates hit, and oh my, vehicles, bases, teleporters, better equipment, more differentiated stuff. Then I played for another week, almost doubling playtime. The game has been updated further, combat is a bit iffy, money making isn't an easy thing, quests play a big part, the game doesn't hold your hand anymore, it looks great and the camera mode can lead to some amazing screenshots. If this was the game at launch it would be phenomenal. I'm just glad the devs haven't forgotten and they are still working to increase player-base. And now 60% off, buy it now
Glad to see them still updating this, loved the atmosphere at release - would have played more if there was more content at the time. Might be time for a second playthrough soon, cheers Scott.
Sander Datema for now we just have a "much more will follow" and the promise of fleshing out the coop aspect of the game. But considering the fact that the game has been the top seller on steam for 12 hours straight and the sheer size of the update i'm not expecting anything but bug fixes for the following 3-5 months. What hello games gave us today is more than enough to make a solid experience. Is it worth the 60 dollars? Hm... i don't know. :/ but right now it's 20 dollars on steam and i suggest you go get it
Sander Datema well, they updated it when everyone hated them and now they are getting love so I'm sure they have plenty of motivation to keep updating it for a while
Sander Datema Looking good? Lmao, they still haven't fixed the weird pebbles on the ground that are *always* in pairs. It looks weird as soon as you notice it and it gives off an off vibe like the planets don't feel realistic and more mathematical in nature.
I am one of the few that loved it at launch, but I stopped playing after a few months due to feeling aimless. Just picked it back up and I am really enjoying the improvements! Thanks for the vid, Scott!
Is it a good game if you ignore the hype and the let down at release? I didn't care about it when it was first announced, but now I'm somewhat interested and I wanted to know if it was any good.
It's a decent game. The reason it flopped so hard was because Sean Murray outright lied about what would be in the game. People got far too hyped for it and were obviously disappointing. Although it's still at a $60 price point. So it is in no way worth that much. I think it's probably a $20 game now. Initially it was a $10 game
To be fair, at launch it was very, like scott said, very "touristy" feeling at launch. But after playing around in 1.3 myself I'd say this has the markings of a great game again. So yes, if you don't care about drama from internet people, this game is still really fun.
really yeah, everyone else is so butt hurt about their blatant false adverts in the beginning. Its not that bad if you like a relaxed survival game with an element of challenge. there is progression that people will claim is grindy, but honestly its not as grindy as many other games ive played. It rewards you for the time you put into it and it only punishes you when you dont maintain a small reserve of maintenance resources or arent paying attention to your surroundings.
Your accent's cool dude, Thanks for the update I won't be getting this game until they add Real Multiplayer and 3rd person camera for the star ships at least. But it's nice to know they're working on stuff. Keep us posted Scott.
if sean murray didn't lie in interviews. interviewer "so, tell us about your game." sean "well, it's a buggy, unfinished mess that we are being forced to release in it's current state due to contractual obligations that sony will not alter despite it being a schedule for a triple a release with hundreds on staff and we're an indie studio with 18 employees. i really shouldn't have signed that contract." now you know.
And also consider the mental strength that would be needed for Sean to say that to his hyped audience...

+Alex Siemers...None No strength at all, just stopping the constant lying. Well what to do, be honest, fuel the hype train even harder or try to lower expectations a little
I feel that if it had a decent flight model, gravity variable between planet, and flightstick support, many people (myself included) would play it for the fun of casual exploration.
Actually, the main goal of the game is to get to atlas, therefore you only need to get electron vapor suspension fluid etc and make warp cells, still a fuel finding game
Justin Robinson don't get me wrong, i really want to try it again but i wont try it until the 'joint exploration' becomes real multiplayer, actually being able to see people, maybe start with your friends spawning with you.
You know what? With watching Scott's video, and seeing how the game looks now, I'm going to buy No Man's Sky. I've followed the game since the release, but now it seriously looks like something I want to play. Sure it's just an endless grinding sandbox, but I just so happen to enjoy that sort of thing, and the universe looks fun to explore now. And with how they've been working to get these expansions made, well, they might eventually get to the promised game in the future.
Although I'm a little bit annoyed that you can't fully fly under stuff, I am very happy that they have added the ability to fly low. This was something which I suggested and upvoted other people's suggestions of it when the Devs asked for ideas, and I'm so very very happy that it's been added. I imagine that the reason for making you go over stuff is so you cannot fly your ship into caves and mine the resources within with the ship lasers. Or it might be so that you can't fly into said caves and get stuck, if you're unable to come to a complete stop mid-air (hover).
Can't wait to start a new game after they're done creating updates! I know they like people to play them as they come out but I haven't played since 1.0 and it'll be so cool to jump in with everything in it!
Yeah, I think it's the story where you fly to millions of planets, all the same, but differently colored with crayons, looking for other players who you would never see even if they were standing in front of you.
Hey Scott, nice to see you take a quick look at this again, always like your take on things. Speaking of which, in preperation of the elusive 3.0 update, will you take a look at how the current build of Star Citizen works in an offline environment? There is a little workaround on Reddit that allows you to explore our little corner of Stanton without the server limitations.
Seriously like... Reading all these comments about Sean lying is like having that one mother in law remind you what happened 10 years ago... Like Jesus get over it, do you have anything else to use? No? Huh, weird.
Hello Games had no marketing department leading to Shaun making promises that he thought could be completed before Sony pushed for an early launch, leading to the half-baked initial release. Hello Games continuing to update and improve their game shows that they were not lying to trick people out of money. Indeed, they didn't lie, as lying requires intent. It shows that they genuinely love their creation and wish to nurture and care for it and its community. And Waking Titan was really fun to play through.
It's a wonder why scam artists never die out. If they truly gave a shit then the little shit would have apologized for the abysmal launch. Instead silent running. Pure arrogance. I guess the multiple interviews don't exist in your mind though Moregasm. They were all faked by some third party right?
dvsaleios Tell me, if you were a scam artist would you, after completing the scam, continue to work for a year pouring effort, resources, manpower and money as well as hiring new employees to produce entirely free updates thus gaining no money whatsoever. Or would you take the money and run?
Great video Scott, but I have few things to point out. I've been playing this game from the beginning and both binocular zoom and broken ship slots were there since the beginning.
It's definitely becoming something phenomenal. I think a lot of people forget how small of a team they really are. Prior to launch I didn't expect much out of the game due to the small dev team and the amount of time they had to develop it. I'm a huge early access player on steam and love to see small developers make great games; The Long Dark for example, been with it since it first appeared on steam and it went through these same hurdles. For such a small team, the sheer scale of the game and now the new complexities to each system economically and physically is very impressive and its definitely something that I could not accomplish. No Mans Sky has always fit the game of my dreams when it comes to space exploration, no boundaries or dlc crap. Just pure exploration of a vast universe. What have we learned from No Mans Sky? Triple A developers and small Indie teams should not team up, it's just bad ju ju. A small indie team cannot keep up with the amount of advertising and hype that a triple A developer can pump out. These updates are making this game even better and better, and one of the craziest games ever made. Try to compare this game to other open world games now, No Mans Sky is getting there. Sean has made the effort to try and apologize through multiple updates and patches and continous development of the game, something that many triple A developers would just give the middle finger to. I hope the community will eventually find forgiveness in their hearts.
I liked the game when it originally came out, so anything after that is a nice bonus. Thanks for sharing. I haven't played the game for a few months now but I could start a new one.
I think people fail to acknowledge the truths as to why the launch of No Man's Sky was so rocky. Hello Games' claims were not false advertisement but instead things that they intended to be at launch. However, with Sony breathing down their neck and even people sending death threats because they delayed it for like 10 days , they were almost forced to deliver a shit game. I believe that you should give No Man's Sky a second chance. They're trying to add what they promised when others wouldn't let them. Don't be mad at them for personal disillusionment.
I still think you're being too hostile about this. For one, when he said there was multiplayer, they actually had a prototype multiplayer worked out. However, it was so buggy and disgusting they had to scrap it entirely. For some reason he didn't state this at the launch, which I push on Sean as an oopsie. But, now just as anyone, he's learned a bit better on how to manage a community based on his mistakes. I personally feel it's wrong to just simply put off a team's efforts and designate them as terrible people because of mistakes they've made. That's why they launched Waking Titan, to reach out to the dedicated community but still crowd control the hype, which seemed to work this time around. I just blame it on inexperience. It was a new arena for such a small team, so I'm a bit more understanding about their situation.
plus it been reported that they were running out. Sony was only covering the costs of pr efforts and advertising and some in house testing, not the development of the game.
+Ben P The list of shit that was lied about is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too big to just let completely go. But I think the biggest fuckup they had is even as the game launched they still maintained the idea that multiplayer was still there, just the chances of seeing a player were near zero. Hell idk if they actually ever said themselves yet that there's zero multiplayer. Since after the game launched instead of saying anything or trying to do anything with the community they disappeared off the face of the planet for months without a word. And even after the mountain of BS this game has had the fact it's STILL a 60$ game is just insulting. They're still trying to sell it like it's a brandnew AAA game instead of what it actually is. A indie early access game.
"They" meaning hello games I assume, don't have control over how much is charged for their game. The point Ben was making was everyone makes mistakes and since everyone complaining is definitely not perfect and has more than definitely lied to people themselves, the hostility that hello games received was not deserving of the hypocritical hate. Yes, they made mistakes, but they are giving a valiant effort now to right everything.
Before that, I want a swamp that I can crash my X-Wing into. One inhabited by a funny green man that sounds suspiciously like Kermit the Frog. Then, the laz0r sw0rdz.
The new Upgrade Ship mechanic is way faster than it was before. Before: You searched forever to find a crashed ship. The crashed ship had a 50% chance of having ONE additional slot - and most, if not all, the equipment needed to be fixes. As of 1.3: Crashed ships are a huge upgrade, with way more slots overall (but usually fewer at first, as they need to be repaired) and you still need to repair all the damaged equipment. Getting a much more upgraded ship, from your starting ship is actually quite a lot faster. I enjoyed the original game well enough, but this new iteration is way more fun. It's still "No Man's Sky" which is still all about exploration. If you like open world sandboxes / exploration games, then it's a lot of fun with 1.3. Full Disclosure, I'm hooked - again.
I missed the hype surrounding this game and only saw a trailer on Steam, so bought it the day before release. I loved it from the start. I think the updates have only improved the game. I can understand why folks were disappointed when it was released, based on the hype, but I feel some people let it taint their impression of the game. Thanks for the video Scott, I'm off to go find more new stuff out in the blackness.
*I WILL BUY THIS GAME ...* *ONE TO TWO YEARS FROM NOW.* *By then, all of the promised features should be there ...* *if Hello Games is still around by that time - lol*
As a long time fan of Spore (a game hated at release because people expected way more than what was said to be in it) I feel bad for this game. Yes the criticism is more valid in this situation but at least his mistakes Sean is trying to fix the mess he made.
Wow, you guys really hate this game with passion, bet you'll choose them running off with your money, like every other AAA dev would, instead of actually keeping their promises and releasing the game you've expected.
Mass refunds from pretty much every distributor pretty much let everyone who didn't like NMS to return their copy. So they didn't run off with our money.
Admiral Walrus I don't know what age you are, and I know this is common quality for UA-cam comments, but that's seriously a terrible way to react to people, I can't really describe it. Quite simply, if you react this way to people for such a simple misunderstanding, people will not want to associate with you because they won't enjoy being around you. Maybe you're doing alright in the present, but you'll want to have a better personality in the future.
This is too true! This needs to happen more frequently because people usually just ignore it and say "Everyone does it so what's the point?". Responses like this are a loud minority the majority of people are quite nice and pleasant actually :p anyway, keep at it! Haha
Get over it people. If it's not your thing then more on. More important things in life then to freak out over a video game. Ya'll sound like a bunch of children not getting their way
Another thing, every single person who was hyped for this game is kinda to blame. Does anyone remember Hello Games getting death threats? Does anyone remember their office flooding? Does anyone remember Sony being apart of it? Everyone was so excited they kinda forced Sony and Hello Games to prematurely release the game. Yes Sean lied and let the marketing go crazy but Sony is just as at fault as he is, maybe even more so because they are the ones who pushed the game to be released so suddenly. Every person who pushed for this game to be released was at fault. I just wish Hello Games would have come out and said it wasn't ready. Maybe people would have listened to him
Kate Marsh still, they update the games frequently... I respect them
7 років тому+5
Does anyone else remember "office flood" being an excuse for other companies? Oh wait storing back-ups in a secure area is too much to be expected...Everyone quickly blame the Publisher makes sure 0 responsibility will ever fall on the devs if that doesn't work blame gamers instead The biggest problem with this game is with that pathological liar Sean, should've just SHUT HIM UP. "I was just being nice" no it was little more than blatantly lying False advertisements, unfulfilled promises. Nah ignore the real problem blame fucking SONY, god forbid that pathological liar is blamed for once Then again morons still want quantity over quality, trust me a handfull of unique planets that are hand crafted would be much better. This game will go down as a Discount Star Citizen bootleg...lacking half the features...or quality...wow...
Kingdom Oh i totally agree. I didn't mean to throw so much shade at Hello Games, yes the marketing was bad but Sony had a big hand in that. I respect HG for continuing and i actually enjoy the game quite a bit when i just want to chill and run around a universe. My biggest gripe is the community, they wanted something that obviously wasn't finished, they were willing to send death threats. I think the biggest reason this game was launched in the state it was is because of the community. Everyone was so hyped and excited and unfortunately the game still needed another year or 2 of development. Sony got way too impatient and pushed for HG to release the game as it was. But like i said, i wish that HG had just come out and said, hey it's not ready and if you get it now you're going to be very disapointed. Just a huge clusterfuck that could have been prevented had Sony not been apart of the whole thing. Add in the community who was ready to tear shit up and we have the launch of NMS
They need to have a different default FOV in the console and PC versions; PC screens are usually much closer to the player, and so need a bigger FOV to look right.
meh... glad they try to fix it, but what could you do if yor game turned in to a meme? ... hope next year they have something close to what they promised... problem: with every year the graphics gets older
I have something to say on the lies that were told prior to the initial launch a year ago. 1. Yes, lies were told and promises were broken. This game was one of the biggest let downs in recent gaming history and it was a lesson to be wary when pre-ordering games. 2. This game is what over a dozen people rely on for a job. We gave them hate but the developers still need to make a living so it isn't right to keep holding something that happened a year ago over them. 3. They are trying to fix their mistakes. While the lies will never have not happened, they are putting in hard work and effort to make it up to those who bought the game. 4. They are releasing free updates which are actually improving the game a lot. For those who are hating on the updates and are calling them "Money hungry liars", wouldn't you like it if something you bought was getting improved? 5. If you don't want to buy the game, you don't have to. It isn't worth it spoiling someone else's experience, especially if they actual enjoy this game. For those who have bought the game, like me, It is so nice that they are constantly working at improving the game. There are plenty of games where this kind of support isn't seen by their developers. That was just my two cents on the matter. Happy exploring fellow interlopers.
Google+ Sucks! Are you being serious right now? They're literally still trying to add in the things they promised at launch. It's been an entire year, and we were completely lied to.
I won't ever forgive them for how ridiculous their lies were. False advertising is one thing, but what they did somehow managed to be even worse than that. A year later, and we're still nowhere near being where we should have been.
No. Never let yourself forget it. They lied to make more sales and more money, and forgetting about it will let them get away with it. Remember what these greedy bastards did and be more cautious in the future.
If you promise to place a product on market with A, B and C features, and by the time you finally place it on market it lacks B and C features, you don't "redeem yourself" by working on adding - originally promised - B and C features. After placing your incomplete product on market you have a few options: 1. You lower your price to adjust it to the real product - and launch ad campaigns describing the real product - in order not to commit a CRIME -> false advertising. 2. Withdraw your product of the market, add both B and C features that the product initially lack, and then re-launch the product as you intially advertised - obviously refunding the money to the people that first bought the product or give them options. What you should NOT do after placing your incomplete product on market: 1. Do absolutely nothing to fix the errors and incompletion of your product. 2. Allow people to buy your - faulty - product knowing its faults. 3. Play victim by sayig that your studio is small and try and fix silently your mistakes. Doing comparisons is absurd -> saying that HG should go away with their lies because other companies do so, is no excuse. Also, people shouldn't be "thankful" because HG sticked to their product: that's their responsibility for launching an incomplete product. The two things that annoy the gaming community the most are: 1. Devs lying about features that don't exist (or can only be achieved via DLC or pay to win). 2. Fans who defend the devs using lame excuses such as "small studio" or "be thankful is free". I don't expect to be charged for a fix that shouldn't happen in the first place. Is as simple as this: if you lie, bear the consequences, don't play victim.
Name 1 of the other big games still getting updates for its sorry broken state 1 year after release. What they did was bad. But unlike the other big studios that would just take the cash they got and ran with it, these guys are actually trying to do good on their promisses post launch. Blame where blame is due, but credit where its due to. And these guys actually deserve it for owning up to their misstakes and at least trying to fix them. I dont see any other studio doing anything of the sort.
Iron, when finally powdered, has actually been found to be a comparable fuel source to hydrocarbons. Fascinating studies on the subject are out there. If you want a primitive example of iron as fuel, look at a thermite reaction, which takes iron oxide and aluminum and burns at extreme temperatures.
It's illegal to falsely advertise products in other industries, and the Gaming Industry should be no exception. I wouldn't try to defend a Developer that falsely advertised a product just because they are still developing it. They lied to their consumers and the damage is done. And the people saying "It's just a video game" and "It's your fault for buying it" are the reason the Gaming Industry have issues such as this.
+SirRookly Yep, there are things like the advertising standards agency. The things is, most of the BS claims weren’t in ads, they were in interviews which aren’t covered.
Scott Manley I was going to bring that up in regards to another argument, but after doing research I found out that and was somewhat disappointed. On one side they are fixing it, but on the other hand they should have never lied, if they needed the game out they could have done an early access.
Scott Manley nah. He definetly bulkshitted alot in presentations etc. So it's their fault for sure. Nevertheless i might still pick this game up on a deep sale if Hello Games continue to patch it up
@SirRookly Companies lie in commercials all the time though. Car companies placing the vehicles in non realistic conditions to get the milage up, detergent companies continue to tell us that 1 drop of the stuff is enough to clean a mountain of filthy dishes. They all exagerate a lot. We dont see that as lies, because we learned to expect it. So gaming is no exception. Gaming is just the place where people sre still stupid enough to fall for those lies time, and time and time again, because they are to much in a hurry to actually sit down and wait for a review or 2.
+CorporationPop anyway I wasn’t hating on the game so much as I was mocking the fanboys who were mad over NMS using the term ‘Pathfinder’ that brought more LOLs than any number of bad facial animations.
+Scott Manley Ah, I misunderstood you in the video then, my apologies. I think most people, including myself, are just sore that they're releasing multiplayer content and not story DLC for ME:A.
MAss Effect Andromeda, as most who have actually played it agree, was and is a very good game, with some minor flaws and a big one.. The hate and strong criticism comes very much from those, who haven't. And is based 80% on the indeed ridiculous facial animations on release.
This update has been a great experience! I love that HelloGames won't let this game die without being at its best. Let's hope in the future this game gains the reputation it should have had and achieves what it could! Also playing along side the rest of the AGT community is an experience that cannot be missed out
Wolverine Prime well No Mans Sky has lower graphics but more content but Elite Dangerous looks hell of a lot better and has 100x better space combat but its 2x the grind
Every "content", NMS has more is grind. Mining minerals is no "content" that puts it above Elite just because NMS has it. Most game mechanics exist exclusively to extend your inventory space. How "deep" is that? And apart from that, it simply has not "more content". And the bit of base building, you might argue with, is canceled out by the Elite feature of working real multiplayer. So NMS has not "more content" and most features they share are done a lot better in Elite. In short: EVEN Elite of which i'm, despite 200hrs playtime, very critical, is a much better game. Not even to mention NMS' direct competition like Empyrion.
Imagine if this game had been kept under wraps, we see the tech demo that goes from land to space, which was and still is very impressive to me. A little tease here and there to show how its all coming along and boom its out today! Would this be a hit?
I'm sorry Mr Manley, when I promised I'd return your daughter's vision I only wanted to keep you from feeling bad. Yeah, sounds fucking stupid when you put it like that too. OR Sorry but or promise to keep passengers safe while they ride our school buses was only because we didn't want you to feel bad.
Lankey Bastard Are you trying to compare this to Sean's interviews? If yes, then it's a really dumb comparison. No one is going to get injured if Sean doesn't do his job, unlike drivers or doctors.
neither of those examples make sense in this context though. this is a fucking video game not fucking eye surgery or school bus protection. think before you open your mouth please.
I'm glad you came round to liking it Scott as I value your opinion on these things. The recent update is certainly a world apart from the initial release. For all those looking for full on MMO? its never going to happen here, plz go take your chainsaw and bazooka to some other arena, there are plenty of games out there to quench your thirst
It's always surprising how many people show up to defend the game. Hello Games isn't some tiny indie that just made mistakes, they had Triple A hype and Triple A backing (don't neglect the fact that Sony did A LOT of the advertising and budget) and launched the game as-is, in a $60 package. A $60 package that they insisted you should buy from their own site instead of say, Steam or Amazon, so they got a bigger cut - and less refunds. And when people ended up having the game before launch, they said it was an incomplete product and to ignore everything, and detailed all these things in the day one patch which, even as of this update DO NOT EXIST. Day one comes around and we find it's the exact same product, the patch just fixed *a few* crashes or slowdowns. There's also a lot of misinformation about how big the team working on the game supposedly is... we've heard conflicting numbers from all sides. A Sony executive in November 2016 had said six, and I've personally also heard sixteen, fifteen, eleven, and two dozen before. At some point, people need to respect the fact that post-launch goodwill doesn't make up for the fact that Hello Games KNEW that the game we were being shown wasn't remotely the final product. That they knew all those screenshots and "live demos" and bullshots and promotional videos were never real. That Sony knew this, that Hello Games knew this, and that Sean Murray knew this. Things we'd seen as being "fully functional" YEARS ago haven't even come to the live version now. They've lied, time and time again. And the fact that people are willing to see anyone involved in this as a good guy is indicative of a severe lack of factual recognition.
But isn't that a non-issue? Surely if you like the game you should play it (and as a game it has merits), and if you don't you should not? What the people who made the game did should have no bearing on that. Nobody needs to defend HG, and arguing for the good aspects of NMS isn't defending HG either.
You can't possibly know that they knew all of that. For one, it was a demo. Which means everything was planned and none of those game play videos were procedural or random in any sense. They just prepared to show off PLANNED features. There are a lot of things that can go wrong, especially when you're a small studio who needs to get publishing help from a large company like Sony. You can get over your head and you can also run out of budget before things are finished. Trust me, they'd be idiots if they knew almost none of those features would make it into the 1.0 release of the game. It's obvious it'd ruin their reputation and they wouldn't make another game again. So they tried to make it right by releasing free updates with most of the stuff actually being suggestions from fans like base building, a feature they didn't even want in the game originally. The reason they have been quiet is probably because they want to focus on listening and making the game better before they get over their head again and make more silly mistakes. This hate is really unnecessary and shows that even though they can show their customers respect by adding free content to the game, most of which was suggested by players, people are too stubborn and blind to realize that and continue to bash a company for fixing a mistake.
The problem was they knew all of that in the months leading up to release and instead of saying anything they let it release with no one being the wiser about the missing content.
Almost assured that that's what happened. Sony has a history of that. I don't usually get anywhere with that speculation since this gen, since Sony is the golden pony that can do no wrong because it has good exclusives, I guess. (Which, didn't people not like exclusives a few years ago? Now it's a perk?)
Many games deliver what they promise on release, not give a "free update" a year down the road to start delivering .... They shouldn't be given that much credit for giving people what they paid for A YEAR LATE.
sorry scott but they should have said it was an early release product, instead they said "NO THIS IS THE FULL GAME PAY US FULL PRICE" and then released the game with bugs out the ass and no content. You cant forgive them for this so easily we need to make a statement to all game devs that we wont stand for such money grubbing shenanigans
+Christopher Holt I totally agree they would have done a much better release with early access. However, I don't know what dictionary would equate paying your dev staff for a whole year after release to add free content updates with 'money grubbing shenanigans'. If they had just taken the money left the game as it was and moved on to another project that would qualify.
If you want to make a statement, then look a Warner Brothers. Shadow of war has microtransactions in single player and a pay to win multiplayer component. Their steam moderators are deleting threads and banning people for bringing it up, all the while Valve is going "This aint our problem" These guys have been working on actually delivering what was promissed for a year now. Practically anyone else would have split a year ago. The hate on them is as much fanboyish as the love for Steam. Especially considerring that Origin of all places has better consumer care than Valve does >.> Yes there was a statement, and a big one at that. But in continuing the hate agenda towards a dev actively trying to fix their misstakes, is also sending a statement. And that statement is the wrong one to make. Im not saying buy the game now, just diling down the hate and giving them props for actually going further than any dev ive seen thus far does seem like resonable. Wouldnt you agree?
My only complaint with the game as it stands is that they've had 3 frankly minor updates in a year with just about zero if any communication. I can only believe the company is bust and they're doing this on their own time, or they're incredibly slow.
Scott Manley one these are not free content updates. These are the features we PAID FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. How can you consider content free simply because they are adding them a t a later date? We paid for the game they didn't give us until a year later. This is not free content, this is content we paid for but didn't get until a year later. Don't be gullible my friend
OniZetto6666 I love astroneer but it is total trash compared to modern no mans sky. Not to mention Hello Games is IRONICALLY updating the game more than astroneer content wise
0utta S1TE If it allowed you to play with friends (which it may at some point tho that's not something I'd use), there is a Terrain Manipulator in the game that allows free-form terrain placement and deletion, you just don't have it immediately when you start.
The foundation update had everything he promised as 100% being in the game, but this update added almost everything he gave "maybe someday" type answers to, while also adding in most of the most popular mods
Im pretty sure they made distances between planets shorter which is what I wanted. It just takes so long to complete a simple task like craft an item because everything is spread across between planets. I just need time to play this game, I reckon it will be awesome once you have you complete the story/lore, have your base, freighter, best ship etc and then just do whatever you want. But for me right now it's a constant grind.
Space combat ia definitely more intense and chaotic. And the ship just puts the control in the pilots hands much more for sure. Im still figuring out how to hire other ships to roll with me. Sounds like a cool new feature. I just want on foot NPCs that get out of ships, walk around, function in groups or solo, maybe join the player or barter. You know a lot of the systems already present, just with aliens actually walking around. To me the game NEEDS this, mandatory.
I'd estimate about 2 more years to put in 100% (and more?) of what Sean promised, and another year/half year for polish. If nothing else, the team's dedication in giving free updates for this long is certainly admirable.
If they add a way to automate some of the grinding, I'd be interested. That and a way to transfer vehicles between planets. Still, I'm one of those who pre-ordered the game. And, for me at least, the grind kills this game for me. Its very pretty to look at, but the endless repetition makes me want to do something else. Maybe it'll be better with a frriend? I doubt it, but you never know. Great video sir! Keep up the great work!
To be fair, they only said that we could meet other players which we is now possible. No other multiplayer interaction was talked about prior launch, just "you might come across some other players".
Good thing he didn't pull a Wollay on us. Maybe I'm wrong. I still have hope for Wollay continuing work on Cube World. Maybe the community was wrong about him.
I played this for 2 hours before uninstalling it yet again. But still I'll give the devs insane credit after taking such a massive beating only to continue on, that takes balls. But even with all of the work they've put into it, the game's still not ready. It just doesn't feel as great as it should.
I bought this game, a few months ago, for one reason, relaxation. This is the kind of game that is about relaxing. Now it isn't a ZEN game yet but it certainly allows you to do things in your own time. So yeah, I haven't gotten far yet. And if I buy that PS4 I buy that again, just to relax... that is all I want.
My main gripe was the crashes in one 45 min play session it hard crashed on me 8 times on console that's ridiculous.......but I guess props to them for continuing to try and make it right
You should have another go at this in a month or so when Beyond drops. It's a three part update. One is VR, the other is a update to the multiplayer aspect (Though they are a bit vague on what that entails at the moment) and the third, they are being tight lipped about for now.
I was one of the people that knew this was going to be trash before release, it was Fable all over again, pretty little lies, however Fable actually still turned out great. With that being said, I really respect the devs for this continuous support, it really makes me feel like the devs wanted those lies to actually be in the game at launch ,maybe it was another example of a publisher rushing the product, maybe not, but the support for this game is fantastic I wish every AAA flop got this kind of treatment.
The only reason they're doing this is to save their reputation, or do you think anyone would ever buy another Hello Games/Sean Murray game again?
Loponstorm here is the problem. They never actually came out and acknowledged it. They never said, "yes we lied, we are sorry, and we will make it right". Until they come out and admit that they lied, apologize, and promise to make it right, they don't deserve forgiveness. They made a fucking fortune on this game. Making it right is the absolute least they should do.
Loponstorm it looks pretty cool now and if they keep giving updates until they hit 2.0 this game will be truly amazing.
You don't give absolute liars any slack. The devs of this game lied, over and over and over. They said shit they ABSOLUTELY knew was not true. Fuck these guys and everything they will ever release.
Now I'm worried. I feel that just the initial letdown will cause this game to be perpetually hated on.
the game will be hated on because it's perpetually a letdown
Kalezian in referring to once the promised features are finally added, and people will still shit on it.
Alex Siemers
Of course.
"Kalezian in referring to once the promised features are finally added, and people will still shit on it."
Do you understand why the people will hate it?
I bought it on release and of course my surprise when it wasn't like the trailer, but intead of hating it and selling it, I kept it because A) I wouldn't get my 60 bucks back and B) they could still pump out updates to make it better, keep in mind that this game was created by 14 guys and sony just pushed them to release it...
Before I start watching, the answer to this question is surely: No, but it's getting there.
I'd say it's already worth playing it
Nobody he forgot to mention some features
I'd say it's maybe 80-90% there to what I was expecting/hoping for at launch. That last 10-20% is compensated for by a load of stuff that was never mentioned in the original trailers so in a way it's now more than I hoped it would be. And they're still working on it. I hated them for the launch and never bothered with the last two updates cause it didn't fix the broken gameplay. Now however, they have definitely gained my forgiveness. I haven't forgotten what they did, but I think they've earned a second chance.
Nobody Maybe it'll get multiplayer before Bethesda makes a Fallout game with multiplayer. Fuck ESO.
Nobody that is a fantastic way to describe it. Looks like a great step in the right direction to me.
CAN WE GET THE PLANETS TO FUCKING ORBIT! PLEASE!!!
I mean, they don't have to move fast but move at least a little. The galaxy map shows orbits now, why can't that be represented in system?
Reginald Morris. Because thats a massively non trivial thing to acomplish in such a minor piece of software as a game?
Just creating a simulator that maps the orbits of dots around other dots on a galactic scale would be a huge project.
Space Engine is able to do it, and they don't have sales and Sony Backing them
No, because the distance would be so massive that the technology behind KSP (moving the world around the player, not vice versa) would have to be added on top of all the fucking procedural shit, it would require a whole revision for a useless addition that only complicates things.
Reginald Morris space engineers didnt do it.....
Two thumbs up for your voice acting Sir.
At this rate in a couple years this game will be actually quite good. Looking forward to playing it then.
It's me from 2020. The game is Good now, actually.
Not the product yet, but my adoration for space games is fueling my hope that Hello Games will repay their sins.
Kudos to the NMS team for sticking to the failed release and continuing to try to make it viable.
Thanks Scott Manley for an XLNT video that has made me want to give it another shot.
I used to be mad, but now I really just want this to be a good game. I did spend $60 on the preorder.
And did you learn your lesson not to preorder things?
Grega Meglic his point is that he is happy and satisfied with his money spent at this point in time
Grega Meglic wasn't there someone that Pre-ordered it for 2000$ only to play a few days before official preorder? L-a-m-a-o
Justin Robinson I wouldn't go that far, it did go down to $30 pretty quick after release. At this point in time, I want the developers to keep trying and not give up.
Grega Meglic Yes mom.. I'll never do it again, though that GT Sport does look promising.
Now it starts looking good. Is there any news about how long the devs will keep making free updates?
Sander Datema for now we just have a "much more will follow" and the promise of fleshing out the coop aspect of the game. But considering the fact that the game has been the top seller on steam for 12 hours straight and the sheer size of the update i'm not expecting anything but bug fixes for the following 3-5 months. What hello games gave us today is more than enough to make a solid experience. Is it worth the 60 dollars? Hm... i don't know. :/ but right now it's 20 dollars on steam and i suggest you go get it
Sean said it'll get updated as long as people keep playing it
Sander Datema well, they updated it when everyone hated them and now they are getting love so I'm sure they have plenty of motivation to keep updating it for a while
igna_mike I'm unsure there would be many people playing a grinding based game for such long time... The devs are trying to get their Rep up, I agree
Sander Datema
Looking good? Lmao, they still haven't fixed the weird pebbles on the ground that are *always* in pairs. It looks weird as soon as you notice it and it gives off an off vibe like the planets don't feel realistic and more mathematical in nature.
I am one of the few that loved it at launch, but I stopped playing after a few months due to feeling aimless. Just picked it back up and I am really enjoying the improvements!
Thanks for the vid, Scott!
Is it a good game if you ignore the hype and the let down at release? I didn't care about it when it was first announced, but now I'm somewhat interested and I wanted to know if it was any good.
kulongers Surprisingly I managed to avoid all the hype and marketing. Game seems pretty fun :)
DekuScrub95 they made a sixty percent discount
Your accent's cool dude, Thanks for the update I won't be getting this game until they add Real Multiplayer and 3rd person camera for the star ships at least. But it's nice to know they're working on stuff. Keep us posted Scott.
if sean murray didn't lie in interviews.
interviewer "so, tell us about your game."
sean "well, it's a buggy, unfinished mess that we are being forced to release in it's current state due to contractual obligations that sony will not alter despite it being a schedule for a triple a release with hundreds on staff and we're an indie studio with 18 employees. i really shouldn't have signed that contract."
now you know.
And also consider the mental strength that would be needed for Sean to say that to his hyped audience...
+Alex Siemers...None
No strength at all, just stopping the constant lying. Well what to do, be honest, fuel the hype train even harder or try to lower expectations a little
Yes, you would know because you are a publisher (I'm assuming?)
The summon ship function works in other modes. It just costs plutonium. And you could always zoom in with your binoculars.
"You won't know what you look like until you look at another player."
>1.3 update: Ur a ball of light congratz.
Thank you for this video, looking forward to giving the game another try in the near future!
Yikes.. these comments. Thanks for the update. Hope they keep it up, shaping up nicely.
Thank you for making an overview!
I may go pick that up myself it looks a lot better!
I feel that if it had a decent flight model, gravity variable between planet, and flightstick support, many people (myself included) would play it for the fun of casual exploration.
It still looks like an infinite search for more fuel. Maybe next year, hello games
But it's not. You should do more research, please.. it pains me your so oblivious to the massive improvement.
Actually, the main goal of the game is to get to atlas, therefore you only need to get electron vapor suspension fluid etc and make warp cells, still a fuel finding game
Justin Robinson don't get me wrong, i really want to try it again but i wont try it until the 'joint exploration' becomes real multiplayer, actually being able to see people, maybe start with your friends spawning with you.
the main goal is to endlessly mine ressources in several layered grind mechanics. And to "upgrade" the intentionally annoying inventory system.
more like Goodbye Games
You know what? With watching Scott's video, and seeing how the game looks now, I'm going to buy No Man's Sky.
I've followed the game since the release, but now it seriously looks like something I want to play. Sure it's just an endless grinding sandbox, but I just so happen to enjoy that sort of thing, and the universe looks fun to explore now.
And with how they've been working to get these expansions made, well, they might eventually get to the promised game in the future.
If the game had been released after this patch instead of last year, it wouldn't be considered anywhere near as bad as it is.
People are overreacting to how bad it is
Zack Smith ive never even heard of persona 5, gotta check it out
And some people are underestimating the greed of the developers.
Can't wait to start a new game after they're done creating updates! I know they like people to play them as they come out but I haven't played since 1.0 and it'll be so cool to jump in with everything in it!
I'm 10 hours into the new story. It's amazing !!
Zack Smith yeah it's great
Yeah, I think it's the story where you fly to millions of planets, all the same, but differently colored with crayons, looking for other players who you would never see even if they were standing in front of you.
TE5LA lol
TE5LA Go preorder a 60 dollar pacifier.
David Boat go preorder a 60$ assplug
Hey Scott, nice to see you take a quick look at this again, always like your take on things.
Speaking of which, in preperation of the elusive 3.0 update, will you take a look at how the current build of Star Citizen works in an offline environment? There is a little workaround on Reddit that allows you to explore our little corner of Stanton without the server limitations.
Seriously like... Reading all these comments about Sean lying is like having that one mother in law remind you what happened 10 years ago... Like Jesus get over it, do you have anything else to use? No? Huh, weird.
I haven't played for months since the pathfinder and I keep watching for more and more positive updates I like that there is more coming
You've made excuses for a guy who lied, and absolutely KNEW he was lying. Bet that feels good.
Eks calybur
What information outlet are you privy to, and how do you know?
It's a wonder why scam artists never die out. If they truly gave a shit then the little shit would have apologized for the abysmal launch. Instead silent running. Pure arrogance. I guess the multiple interviews don't exist in your mind though Moregasm. They were all faked by some third party right?
dvsaleios If Sean did apologize, it wouldn't do shit as people would still lake even the simplest empathy for him.
dvsaleios
Tell me, if you were a scam artist would you, after completing the scam, continue to work for a year pouring effort, resources, manpower and money as well as hiring new employees to produce entirely free updates thus gaining no money whatsoever.
Or would you take the money and run?
Great video Scott, but I have few things to point out. I've been playing this game from the beginning and both binocular zoom and broken ship slots were there since the beginning.
This game got a bad reputation because it was forced to launch too early...
1:44, is that you wheatly?
You remember when he got lost in space? They finally found him.
Exactly!
+Ben P
The list of shit that was lied about is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too big to just let completely go.
I'm very happy about all these new updates and tbh i always believed in the devs to improve it and work on it ❤️
>floating balls of light
lmao
Wow, it's really becoming better
I still want lightsabers or "laser swords". :(
plasmatana
Still waiting for the 'Atlas Shrugs' update.
+Whitefang8128 you mean the one where they start charging money for updates?
I missed the hype surrounding this game and only saw a trailer on Steam, so bought it the day before release. I loved it from the start. I think the updates have only improved the game.
I can understand why folks were disappointed when it was released, based on the hype, but I feel some people let it taint their impression of the game.
Thanks for the video Scott, I'm off to go find more new stuff out in the blackness.
*I WILL BUY THIS GAME ...*
*ONE TO TWO YEARS FROM NOW.*
*By then, all of the promised features should be there ...*
*if Hello Games is still around by that time - lol*
What a majestic vision your grace.
As a long time fan of Spore (a game hated at release because people expected way more than what was said to be in it) I feel bad for this game. Yes the criticism is more valid in this situation but at least his mistakes Sean is trying to fix the mess he made.
Holy shit I never realized how cancer Scott Manley's viewer base is. This comment section is fucking horrible. Hilarious, but horrible.
+Istvan Willmott viewerbase is actually really cool, but some subjects just hit raw nerves
No, the entitled autistic spectrum is prevalent everywhere
Istvan Willmott that's not true. this game just has A LOT of bad will towards it and people with extreme opinions for it or against it.
what a bunch of bile-spewers
They are mostly goons, OC they are cancerous
A couple more updates and im buying! I feel like this admiral effort by the devs will eventually add the feature i personally want in the game.
"releasing" Lol, in an update a year later? You people are so fucking funny. The mental gymnastics you go through to justify their lies and theft.
ThePalo48 Better late than never. What they did was fucked up but if they fix it, great. Thats just a good thing, nothing else
60% sale?
I waited so long for this and nearly missed it? Thanks Scott :D
Pleeeeeeeeeease raise your FOV, because its giving me tunnelvision.
he cant the settings werent there and he was playing vannila
Haha
Not many people know that their studio actually got flooded once, and that set back progress a lot.
Maybe people would have listened to him
Kate Marsh you nailed it. Bravo!
Kate Marsh still, they update the games frequently... I respect them
Does anyone else remember "office flood" being an excuse for other companies?
Oh wait storing back-ups in a secure area is too much to be expected...Everyone quickly blame the Publisher makes sure 0 responsibility will ever fall on the devs if that doesn't work blame gamers instead
The biggest problem with this game is with that pathological liar Sean, should've just SHUT HIM UP. "I was just being nice" no it was little more than blatantly lying
False advertisements, unfulfilled promises. Nah ignore the real problem blame fucking SONY, god forbid that pathological liar is blamed for once
Then again morons still want quantity over quality, trust me a handfull of unique planets that are hand crafted would be much better.
13:55 I haven't laughed that hard in weeks, thanks Scott!
Why don't you increase the FOV? So horribly narrow
+Prich038 to present the game as the dev intended, and by extension let people complain about it.
They need to have a different default FOV in the console and PC versions; PC screens are usually much closer to the player, and so need a bigger FOV to look right.
There is a fov option in the settings?!
Limited one I believe, but I edited a config file to use a much better wider FOV
Its good to know that Wheatley found himself a new career path.
Best game ever
the part with the slots and ship switch, is like Out There: Omega Edition. still looks fun. love your videos:)~Rastaoneeye
meh... glad they try to fix it, but what could you do if yor game turned in to a meme? ... hope next year they have something close to what they promised... problem: with every year the graphics gets older
I just picked it up on sale yesterday, and can't wait to get cracking on it.
Why havent they just aloud people to mod this game. It would allow people to make the game batter
Devane Risby lol good luck getting modders to work on this steaming pile of trash..
+Devane Risby there's mods, I just don't use them.
There is a ton of mods though XD
Devane Risby what the fuck is that spelling
Papa John english not first language
Happy exploring fellow interlopers.
is the max FOV this low?
Ano Nyme no, max FOV is 100 default is around 70
Skaianet Hmm. Apparently, Minecraft and NMS have different ideas as to what an FOV of 70 is.
Minecraft has control for sprint, what did you expect
The game looks much better now. I don't even think the idea of Scott doing a short series of it is that bad :)
Can we just forget this awful pile of space shit?
After placing your incomplete product on market you have a few options:
What you should NOT do after placing your incomplete product on market:
The two things that annoy the gaming community the most are:
Scott Manley, part of Sean Murray's legal team? :-)
Scott Manley nah. He definetly bulkshitted alot in presentations etc. So it's their fault for sure. Nevertheless i might still pick this game up on a deep sale if Hello Games continue to patch it up
@SirRookly
Companies lie in commercials all the time though.
I just picked it up today after being a bit leery about purchasing it, and I haven't been disappointed. It's a lot of fun.
Casual Mass Effect Andromeda hate xD
+CorporationPop nah I dig that game, really sad that they shut down the developer and won’t make another game.
I liked it too, nowhere near as good as 1, 2 and 3 but pretty decent. It's a shame that we'll probably never get to see those Quarians though...
Also playing along side the rest of the AGT community is an experience that cannot be missed out
I'm not going back to this No Man's Pile of Lies ever again. I'll just stick with Elite Dangerous for my space-fix for now. LoL
+Wolverine Prime you’ll get no argument from me, Elite is a fantastic space sim.
5Andysalive Did you forgot the 30 hour story?
Imagine if this game had been kept under wraps, we see the tech demo that goes from land to space, which was and still is very impressive to me. A little tease here and there to show how its all coming along and boom its out today!
Would this be a hit?
I'm sorry Mr Manley, when I promised I'd return your daughter's vision I only wanted to keep you from feeling bad.
Yeah, sounds fucking stupid when you put it like that too.
OR
Sorry but or promise to keep passengers safe while they ride our school buses was only because we didn't want you to feel bad.
+Lankey Bastard how about if Sean promised us straw men?
Scott Manley, I snickered.
Mr Manley, you can take the dry sarcastic Brit out of Britain, but you can't take dry sarcastic wit out of the Brit. I salute you sir! o7
Is it possible that Sony forced them to release too early?
I'd rather make a statement against paid DLC/content/in-game-currency than against false/misleading advertisement.
Their steam moderators are deleting threads and banning people for bringing it up, all the while Valve is going "This aint our problem"
These guys have been working on actually delivering what was promissed for a year now. Practically anyone else would have split a year ago.
The hate on them is as much fanboyish as the love for Steam. Especially considerring that Origin of all places has better consumer care than Valve does >.>
Yes there was a statement, and a big one at that.
I was already blown away when I realized you were running....not walking
Astroneer beats this garbage upon release totally with ease. *DUG A HOLE BENEATH MY FRIEND AND COVERED HIM UP*
buh duh muh social experience
You want this game to be a social and shared experience, but this is not this game, it's narrative driven.
OniZetto6666 weaboo
OniZetto6666 I love astroneer but it is total trash compared to modern no mans sky. Not to mention Hello Games is IRONICALLY updating the game more than astroneer content wise
0utta S1TE
If it allowed you to play with friends (which it may at some point tho that's not something I'd use), there is a Terrain Manipulator in the game that allows free-form terrain placement and deletion, you just don't have it immediately when you start.
Your textures still suck.
The foundation update had everything he promised as 100% being in the game, but this update added almost everything he gave "maybe someday" type answers to, while also adding in most of the most popular mods
Game is still a pile of crap .
Even just in the visuals, this looks a lot better than the original release.
I'd estimate about 2 more years to put in 100% (and more?) of what Sean promised, and another year/half year for polish. If nothing else, the team's dedication in giving free updates for this long is certainly admirable.
For a sale price its perfectly ok now.
That was pretty much how I saw what Sean had said. Scott, you are a cool dude.
I played this for 2 hours before uninstalling it yet again. But still I'll give the devs insane credit after taking such a massive beating only to continue on, that takes balls. But even with all of the work they've put into it, the game's still not ready. It just doesn't feel as great as it should.
The giant sandworms are still rolling around on Osirus:New dawn. They're happy there.
I haven't watched your video, just heard the audio in the background while sculpting..... veeeery intresting soundscape this game has
My main gripe was the crashes in one 45 min play session it hard crashed on me 8 times on console that's ridiculous.......but I guess props to them for continuing to try and make it right
You should have another go at this in a month or so when Beyond drops.
