Stihl is taking over the Honda Market! So glad a solid company stepped up! Does this model have a manual choke?
I know. Especially since Honda no longer makes lawnmowers for North America.
Stihl make great mowers,i bought the stihl rm655rs with the rear roller last year and its fantastic and lays a lovely stripe,its so well built and starts first time every time,the monohandle is great and makes it so easy to empty the bag and have access to it,the monohandle is super strong and i wouldn't go back to two handles now,Stihl make great machines
There here in ireland for years handles not a problem very strong mower
I'm 14 and I am going to pick up my new Stihl RM 655 V for my business tomorrow. I just about died when I saw this video.
With the end of Honda mowers, my next mower might be Stihl. I was already looking at their electric ones since they have a steel deck, but can't ever go wrong with gas.

With stihl chains saw and all other lawn garden items stihl has been working yards center the lawnmower is going to be a winner for stihl
Husqvarna W520 is my preferred walk behind mower. If they release a 30in or 32in walk behind its game over.
We have 6 RM655RS mowers and a comparable AS531 (5 hour mow tank) same engine. Although AS looks like they use a bigger blade but you can’t bend the crank shaft. We will be buying this mower when we replace the AS and buy two. Thanks for the review.

I have 15 exmark 30's and I would be happy to switch over if it mulches well and has an option to side discharge.
Ariens used to be the go to mower for my choice because the bag chute never plugged up. Now I have yet to find one Where I can get a full row cut without the bag chute plugging up. I'm in Washington state so the grass grows really fast and isn't always dry. I've always been a stihl fan for their chain saws! Also there's lots of mole hills here which is what I seen bend a crank shaft before. I'm really looking forward to these mowers hitting the market in the United States soon!

@@travissitler3566 Also spoke with our Midwest Stihl rep(3-1-24), the mowers are made in Germany at this time, possibly in the U.S. at a later date. I'm going to try to special order a commercial model(hydrostatic drive).

On Toro Super Recycler you can lift the bag between the handle bars. But this does seem like a time saver too

Ok that's cool. Iv seen them on UA-cam from over seas videos never knew they where that much engineering in them.
I've been in business for thirty years And have had a push mower on my truck the whole time (for steep slopes). Several potential problems with this mower... There is no way that mono handle Is going to hold up long term... Especially if you have steep slopes like I do. The polymer liner Takes up a lot of room under the deck... Which i'm sure effects mulching performance. I'm assuming that's why he never said if it mulches well only that it bags well... Which is a problem For commercial companies that don't offer bagging. I'm going to stick with my commercial toro 21.

Handle lasting no problem 3 years bashing on the slopes, mulching is not great as toro , you need mulching mover just get one otherwise this mover is good but ……. Expensive 😢 very expensive I think Honda is better choice.

I've beat the crap out of my Honda hrx217 for 5 years without any failure. Tune ups,oil changes,and one pull rope. I know they're not makin them now,but darn good mowers. The deck is made from nexite and I've hit rocks,gravel,barb wire,etc without any damage. The motor and tranny have been great

Very reminiscent of the Kubota w5021 and John Deere 14 series self propelled. But, definitely with some engineering differences and improvements. I can see the benefit of the mono handle but wonder if it’s robust enough for commercial use.
i absolute dislike the design this might be a bit better than the rm 650 (loooses the nut that holds the bar with the trepidation of engine)
I like everything about it except the kohler engine. Whatever happened to the Kawasaki Kai (no longer made?). It's like Honda, Robin, and Kawasaki no longer makes small engines 212cc or less.
They damm near thought of everything 😳

I'll stick to my honda. I'll literally tested that plastic deck I literally put two different bricks on that deck didn't hurt it whatsoever. Will the sthil have any power at all when I'm cutting tall grass or will stall out like my exmark 21 inch in which when I go and do my lawn once a week it will stall out. Exmark dealer oh that's normal. So it's normal to cut regular grass and it to stall. I'm just making sure that this sthil wouldn't do that when I cut my lawn.

Hydrostatic means that you can adjust the speed to any speed that you want or need. You can change it by tiny increments if you need to.

30 years of exellence huh...not even a front or rear axle height adjustment, let alone a central one, and this is their top of the line mower? How about engine design that let's you tip the mower on its back for easier cleaning and storage and self propulsion system that matches the driver? ...the blade brake clutch is a nice thing but i bet they priced it into the skies...

Kohler is not as good as Briggs but still a great motor.
So it’s another rebranded Eastman mower?? Deere did it, then Kubota and others. Not looks like a mono beam Stihl design. Not great
It doesn't look anything like an Eastman, or Kubota, or Gravery or Bobcat or whoever else used that original Eastman design.
