One thing to keep in mind about the private supply is that there is a significant amount of silver going to refiners that is being converted to commercial bars and sold on the various exchanges. The "great melt" going on today is not as widely reported as the one that occurred in 1079 and 1980 for a few months, but is definitely occurring as confirmed by numerous private dealers and shops around the nation.
The reports I have heard have been from Harry himself in some of his videos, Brian Vermillion with Vermillion Enterprises, my local coin store in Amarillo, and the list goes on.

Availability will be the problem. Silver will go to the hoarders' hands. Like gold, silver is the choice of the Chinese. Just the thought of the lost silver taels during the two Opium Wars, any Chinese will value each silver piece whether a pendant, a charm, or a chain they can get their hands on. It's a choice.

I've noticed that also, it will dip in the morning then at about 10:30 it'll spike back up so if it dips at 8 and is still going down by 11 I'm usually loading up my cart at hero or monument or whoever has the best deals thats what i did this past week.

Most wars start on weekends;( Come sunday night nothing has happened and those contracts get sold. Ad the fact that while it is almost 24 hour trading not the volume available so often more sellers than buyers in thin markets that stretch that price in order to get those trades done.

I think that the general public and the coin store owners need to come to terms with the fact that physical silver has nothing to do with paper silver. The stock market cannot see any of their sales or purchases in either direction. The stock market cannot see anything in their inventory or in the private peoples inventory. I'm not sure if that would push the price up or down, but it needs to be different than the stock market because those guys are playing a different game with paper
On the contrary. They are directly perportional. When paper becomes accountable, then you will see a correction that will not be easy for the central banks. It is inevitable.
First of all, the price on the stock market is for 5000 ounces minimum purchase, and then they are not required to deliver. So it's a fantasy. But as you know anytime you have to buy 5000 ounces to get a certain price, when you get down to the 1 ounce price, it's not gonna be the same price.

The first and foremost reason to hold gold, silver and platinum is to hold value. During hyper-inflation you don't want to be wheeling around wheelbarrows of cash to pay for the weekly shopping. In hyper-inflation what you can buy in the morning for a hundred dollars you might need 2 hundred dollars by the evening. When you go shopping during hyper-inflation you take your metals to the local coin or bullion dealer and exchange them for cash or payed into your debit card and do your shopping right after. Yes there are times every now and then when you can for a short time make great gains in gold and silver, just don't assume or count on there being one of those times during your life time. If you want to make real gains from your PMs, when businesses, real estate or what ever are selling cheep, assets that pay you to own them, then exchange some of your PMs for them. Just keep and eye out for opportunities.
IMO, the "shortage" refers to the difference between the silver that is consumed and the silver that is mined. There is a definite shortage in that regard. And, with no new discoveries being made, that shortage will continue. Even when new in-ground sources are found, it takes up to 10 years to get to full production. Recycling is being counted and still there is a shortage of mined to usage. Silver also makes the perfect money for everyday use. It has value it is finite, it must be mined, and it is not overly abundant as to make it worthless. It protects your wealth against inflation.
Silver is not as abundant as this guy says it is. I don't have the time to explain, but you have pretty much summarized what I wanted to write here. I spend most of my free time with my metal detector looking for silver nuggets and haven't found any yet, but plenty of gold nuggets, I must add. lol.

Harry missed one very crucial point with reference to the scarcity of silver. You have to look at the big picture. The amount of people that will not just want silver in a global financial meltdown but also the people that will NEED physical silver to conduct their daily lives. One silver coin will go a long way to buy food and necessities but there will be a massive scarcity of that silver coinage when spread across the global population. Some people will hold plenty but most people will be scraping to hold one coin. When viewed from this perspective you can suddenly see just how scarce silver actually is. This subject has already been covered by Bald Guy Money.

Awesome video, finally someone NOT pumping silver for the wrong reasons. Silver will become more scarce, then they will mine more. But it will be more expensive to extract. So the price will go up. This will go on until we are all gone.
I want to say that since I started watching your videos, I've learned a lot about silver and gold. This week, I will buy my first rounds. My goal is to have 40 ounces of rounds, not with the mindset of becoming a millionaire, but to protect my money in case the value of the dollar decreases.
Recycling precious metals also makes it difficult to determine. e.g. How many Shekalim do silver owners hold in the form of new/recycled coins or bullion? Don't forget the future of asteroid mining. As a side note, I enjoy how pragmatic/objective all three of you continue to be in discussing silver's availability.
As a mining engineer I agree with the assessment as the price of silver goes up, forms of exploration previously too expensive will become profitable. This will keep long-term spikes (an oxymoron) due to available reserves to a minimum.

Did anyone else get silver from a relative when they were very young, sell when they were a little older, and then start stacking when they were even older? So old, gave to the young, sold to the coin shop, purchased back later and eventually given to some younger person (your kids) who turn around and start the process over.

They pull 850 million ounces out of the ground with a 1.2 billion ounce demand from industry and investors. That sounds like a silver shortage to me. Not enough silver is produced to meet demand.
Precisely - too many "stackers' have their head in the sand because they want to keep stacking at low prices. The reality is that even now at $30USD ($50 outside USA) per ounce, silver is deathly cheap. 5-6yrs until supply runs out is the word - then the price should sky rocket.

I agree, silver gets used up in machines, overlooked coins get thrown away, melted down and alloyed etc, gold tends to stick around a lot longer

I want to say that since I started watching your videos, I've learned a lot about silver and gold. This week, I will buy my first rounds. My goal is to have 40 ounces of rounds, not with the mindset of becoming a millionaire, but to protect my money in case the value of the dollar decreases.
Recycling precious metals also makes it difficult to determine. e.g. How many Shekalim do silver owners hold in the form of new/recycled coins or bullion? Don't forget the future of asteroid mining. As a side note, I enjoy how pragmatic/objective all three of you continue to be in discussing silver's availability.

As a mining engineer I agree with the assessment as the price of silver goes up, forms of exploration previously too expensive will become profitable. This will keep long-term spikes (an oxymoron) due to available reserves to a minimum.

Did anyone else get silver from a relative when they were very young, sell when they were a little older, and then start stacking when they were even older?
So old, gave to the young, sold to the coin shop, purchased back later and eventually given to some younger person (your kids) who turn around and start the process over.

Yes, and it can only ever be owned by NBP unless the country needs to do trade with another country. Poland also has one of the largest gold stockpiles in the world. Anything they have is basically "off-market" to the public and industry. Not to mention, Poland's environmental laws limit mining to preserve the environment so its likely to never be mined.

@EatMyOats Please go read a chart. Gold and silver just ride over inflation. They maintain their value well. They don't gain you any wealth over time unless you are a speculator and buy and sell with the gains and losses.

Great video so informative. Love these discussions. I watch the silver live chart and bitcoin live chart daily and when I saw silver dip down to 27.50 I jumped on it loaded up some more. Finally hit 100 ounces. Now im just getting constitutional silver and focusing back on my coin collection unless there is some mega dip back under $25 Ill load up again. Silver had nice pump today got back over $30. 🇺🇸😎👍
I know about the premiums, but my budget allows me to stack 1/4 oz gold coins. What are your thoughts on buying the less expensive quarter ounce British tutor coins versus the other quarter ounce coins like Phil harmonics maples and American gold eagles that are usually $30 higher
I avoid anything less than.999 gold and I don’t buy buffaloes because they have high premiums. Maples or whatever is the cheapest at the moment.

They pull 850 million ounces out of the ground with a 1.2 billion ounce demand from industry and investors. That sounds like a silver shortage to me. Not enough silver is produced to meet demand.
JPMorgan will cover this. For now.
Precisely - too many "stackers' have their head in the sand because they want to keep stacking at low prices. The reality is that even now at $30USD ($50 outside USA) per ounce, silver is deathly cheap. 5-6yrs until supply runs out is the word - then the price should sky rocket.

RE. the Hunt Brothers the story I was told was they were both subpoenad into congressional hearings and were kept away from any phones while their holdings diminished in value triggering margin calls, from which they basically lost everything. No idea if thats true but it is a great story.
