I'm so glad this video is here,...there's not many videos on YT of Alaskey. Alaskey was Jackie Gleasons' go-to voice-over guy when the lost episodes of the Honeymooners was being restored. Gleason's voice had changed significantly over time and he couldn't speak in the high register of Ralph Kramden anymore. Gleason personally hand-picked Alaskey because, as Alaskey said of why Gleason didn't want to do it himself, "He just didn't want to be bothered with the project". And that was the best Rodney Dangerfield impression ever at 7:35. And that Christopher Lloyd impression was SPOT ON!
Yeah I totally agree, I don’t see much videos of him either, well at least not videos where he is talking. Most I see are just videos where he is mentioned or where he is on the thumbnail, and yeah that impression of Christopher Lloyd was spot on. Oh and don’t forget his impression of Arnold Schwarzenegger as well.
1:01 That sounds like how Daffy sounded when he was hypnotized by that one vampire in that Duck Dodgers episode. Joe Alaskey is funny as a comedian and his voices too. In fact, I think Joe Alaskey and Jeff Bergman are the best successors to Mel Blanc, there are only a few characters where they aren’t. Porky(Bob Bergen wins) Speedy(Fred Armisen wins) Pete(John Kassir wins) Goofy Gophers(Rob Paulsen & Jess Harnell win) Sam(Maurice Lamarche wins) Elmer(Billy West wins) Marvin(Eric Bauza and Joe Alaskey win) Taz(Jim Cummings wins) Those were a few “examples” but usually Jeff Bergman and Joe Alaskey are my favorite successors. Also 7:31 Lol
Not all of his impressions were good, he was just funny. People laughed at his act from start to finish. Rather than keep doing this he kept up with cartoon voices. That became his career. That’s a better life.
Pretty much all of his impressions were really good. He does a perfect shatner and Gleason also. He did both voice acting and this but he became more known for voice acting.
Sadly he was underrated and didn't get as much TV exposure as he should have. Great talent. Best Jackie Gleason ever.
I Always liked Joe. Such a brilliant mind... and a great talent.
Outstanding. He should’ve been better known.
He had one of the best Shatner impressions.
Brilliant, underrated, RIP
R.I.P. Joe Alaskey (1952 - 2016) 😢
Sadly missed 8 years later
@@hayleyfisher5796 He's in heaven with his predecessor, Mel Blanc.
The Greatest.

Wow he was awesome
GENIUS!
Great show
He could have played Gleason as Ralph.
This must have been from his earlier career. The impressions were not quite developed yet.

Really a fantastic impersonator.
