In 2004, the show Will & Grace had an episode guest starring Bebe Neuwirth (Lilith) as herself. I didn't start watching Frasier (in syndication) until 5 years later. Now I have all 11 seasons on DVD and rewatch them way more than I should. In the Will & Grace episode, this exchange is made and it didn't mean anything to me at the time... but I have to agree with them on Season 8: KAREN: We love you, Lilith! BEBE: That's great. Thank you. Thank you. It's Bebe. KAREN: Ha ha ha ha ha. God, love you, Lilith, you're so dry. Your unemotional monotone provides a needed balance for Frasier's neurotic histrionics. JACK: Plus, you've got the body of a 14-year-old Korean gymnast. BEBE: Yeah, I get that a lot. Well, it's always nice to meet fans. Especially in a public place with lots of witnesses and clearly marked exits. JACK: Lilith, come sit down. KAREN: Sit down. Sit, sit. JACK: So, Lilith... BEBE: Bebe. JACK: So, Lilith, now, we've stood by your show for 10 years. BEBE: Frasier's been on the air for 11. KAREN: We didn't care for season eight.
It's a very cleverly written episode and it's a lot like a spectacular domino fall down. It takes ages to set it up and only a fraction of that time to fall but it's always worth the payoff lol. Niles being tipsy at the party just puts the icing on the cake as the whole thing hits the fan. Easily among my favorite episodes but interestingly, I'm not sure I'd put it right at the top.
I was born in the early 80's after the Smothers Brothers and Abbott and Costello, but I have to imagine Grammer/Pierce is among the best comedy duos ever. I miss this show so much.
Your analysis is amazing! Please do another! What MAKES comedy in Frasier I never articulated so clearly. Thanks for explaining it. I am only one fan in Palo Alto but I say yes please..more!
Thank you, I really appreciate it :D Ok, then I will! I currently only have an idea for a video essay about another episode I dislike, but maybe I should see if I have something more to say about one of the hundreds of episodes I actually like as well. After some other topics.
LOVE your Frasier content bro. You're one of the few channels that covers Frasier at all. Please please please do more. I've liked and subscribed already. Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks, that means a lot! :D Ok, I'll make at least one more video about another episode, and I may have something to say about the reboot when that comes along. I have a few other videos I want to make before that, but then I'll get started on the next Frasier video.
@@sindrelf Sweet man. Also, in the future, I would love to see an analysis from you of what I consider to be the best Frasier episode of all time: "The Dinner Party" (the one where Frasier and Niles try to plan a dinner party and they end up with that message on the answering machine about "you get one you get that other one"). Oh, and you 100% should do a top 10 list of best Frasier episodes...and a bottom 10 list of worst Frasier episodes.
@@sindrelf Awesome. I'm very keen to get your full thoughts on both lists and Dinner Party when you get the chance to make those videos. No pressure though brother.
Thanks :D Correct! If you are interested, I have some other videos about Norwegian media, culture and folklore. I've tried to make them as accessible to an international audience as possible.
Good video. But its funny how I can basically summarize it as, "In the good episode, the misunderstandings were about the characters we know...in the less-good episode it was about new characters".

My favorite Frasier-episode is "the doctor is out", with the magnificent performance of "Captain Jean-Luc Picard".

I also really like Dinner Party :)

Good analysis - thanks!! Are you Norwegian? Am trying to pick your accent, your English is great btw
Thanks :D

Fenomenal episode!!! ❤️❤️❤️

This episode was one of the funniest ones. But, then again, there were so many.
Turn down the bell noise or off please! I wanted to watch but those bells are so loud I had to stop it.
