That be Tom Hoover at the very end of this video . I knew him & used to get my cars and trucks aligned at his alignment shop in North Mpls years ago . Heck of a nice guy that would talk your ear off about drag racing . In the early days he told me that it was him his mother father that were his pit crew doing the engine rebuilds to compete for the next round so it definitely was a family run team in the early days . I found out a couple of years ago that he left Minnesota and moved to Florida to completely retire and sold both of his alignment shops and that he had died a few years ago not knowing this because I had moved away and moved to Wisconsin & hadnt kept in touch with him . He was the only privateer nitro drag racer for years that was able to compete & beat other nitro class racers that had big sponsorship and money for quite some time until he decided to sell his funny car after he made the switch from rails and dragsters to the funny car class ! I still have a small poster that he would give out free at the North Mpls alignment shop for free with his autograph on it hanging in my garage when the funny car was driving was the Pioneer funny car he was racing at that time who was 1 of his sponsors . RIP Tom Hoover you are gone but not forgotten !
