The National Gallery in London recently put on an exhibition about St Francis. I visited the exhibition, I was intrigued to find out how the exhibition presented him. I was pleasantly surprised that although there was a concentration on the environmental aspect of his life there was also a good deal of information and exhibits on his religious life.
Every time I hear these talks from Bisshop Barron, I wish I could have a photographic memory to remember all the points! I can never remember all of these many jewels in his speech and the many insights within his ideas.

Ah yes, Kenneth Clark's Civilization series that we taught to our high school students.... Long retired, we still own the VCR cassettes. Clark's series, now available online for streaming, remains excellent.

This was very uplifting. I’ve never read Chesterton. However, I made need the whole of your society to interpret what I may read. I go to him in the hope of receiving , if only a bit, some of what you know. Reading the Bible has been that same experience of reading towards growth and knowledge and understanding… again and again and again. Always reaping something new. Thank you.
History records the relationship of family members with their family member helpers. There is no other relationship. Christianity is not "a relationship to a person" as Barron claims but an ensuring procreation gift family member role helping the family identity. Sex is not a servant but this relationship between a family member and their opposite sex helper, between procreation gift helper and family member need of union. Essence and existence do not "coincide" but are inseparable and qualitatively equal. Being is not "tied to giving" but is inseparable and qualitatively equal with giving. Consecrated celibate marriage vowed to man in Christ is not "a higher way of love" to consecrated male female marriage vowed to God as Barron asserts but they are inseparable and qualitatively equal. It is not "the jewel in the crown".
