Hold on cause lizzo as Ursula would have been INCREDIBLE no shade to Melissa McCarthy but LIZZO and Halle Bailey singing they hearts out in a million dollar underwater Disney fairy tale !!!! 😦 I would see that opening night for the vocals alone
If you told pre 2022 me that I would be excited for a Barbie movie, I would've called you crazy. Now, it's one of my most anticipated movies of the year. Seriously, it looks like Greener Grass if it was a musical.
2023 has already yielded some excellent movies. How To Blow Up a Pipeline is one of the best thrillers in years, Broker was an incredibly poignant story of family from todays most talented director, John Wick Chapter 4 brought some of the most exciting action put to screen in years, and Skinamarink has brought a new type of horror to the mainstream. 2023s a great year to love movies.
The way you talked about how sometimes movies that got everything going for them and still turned out to be bad is exactly why Thor Love and Thunder is my least favorite Marvel movie. It may not be the worst on a technical level, but as far as expectations go, considering how much this movie had going for it, it simply didn't have the right to fail as much as it did.
The Five Nights at Freddy's Movie is by far my most anticipated movie of the year. I was 13 when it was first announced, and now I'm going to be 21 and seeing all the set photos and leaks has been a complete dream and something I never expected to finally be able to see

Then Don Cheadle can play all the Kangs. It’d be great, there could be loads of “Boom! You looking for this?” and another fun “Look it’s me, I’m here, deal with it. Let’s move on.” Don Cheadle just seems like a fun, chill dude and I’d love to seen him get all the spotlights
“Talk to me” is the directorial debut of the Phillipou brothers, the Australian creators behind the “RackaRacka” UA-cam channel. They are in talks of directing a street fighter movie!
Very promising year, but specifically summer. While I’ve been down on the MCU lately, Guardians of the Galaxy looks promising. I’ve been hot or cold on the Fast and the Furious franchise, but I like Cena as one of the good guys, we got Han and Shaw teaming up, and Momoa looks to be having the time of his life to balance out the charismatic void that is Vin Diesel(sorry not sorry). Across the Spider-Verse looks incredible. Early reports for Flash are good. Indy 5 looks promising and I have a lot of faith in James Mangold and the fact that he has been hired to do a Star Wars movie shows that maybe they’re happy with what they see of Indy. MI 7 looks great. I love that franchise. Then you got Oppenheimer and Barbie the same weekend. Even Ninja Turtles looks good. Blue Beetle looks fun.
I just *really* hope the new transformers film is good. Like my Christ it actually looks like it could be okay and nothing like The Last Knight thank god
I'm very very confident in Rise of the Beasts, the color of the Maximals is strange but real life animals are those kinda colors and they've been around for a long time, losing fur and rusting, I think it makes sense for this movie specifically
Does your volume 3 video have spoilers? I watched the first minute or so and I don't remember there being a spoiler warning, but it seemed like you were going to talk about spoilers so I clicked off just in case.
Five Nights at Freddy’s has the potential of being the biggest movie of the year for two reasons. It represents the rise in popularity of video game adaptations and horror movies. Both have been as successful or more successful than superhero movies at the box office, and those two ideas combined could be something magical.
I honestly don't see it becoming bigger than movies such has John Wick 4 and specially the titan that was the Super Mario Bros movie. it will surely be something specially for people who grew up with the game or just have some nostalgia for it, but I doubt it will be a masterpiece.
That Barbie movie is going to fuck. One of the best trailers I’ve seen. Right up there with Dune’s. Also yeah. Lizzo could probably play Ursula in her sleep.
I believe Nivola said they did practical effects for his character’s transformation, so I have some doubts he’s Rhino. Would love to be proven wrong though. Maybe they could get a best makeup Oscar like Suicide Squad.
Nando, cinemacon is a convention put on by the national association of theatre owners (NATO) there's a trade show centered around the cinema going experience, i.e. seats, projection, premium formats, and stuff like that. One of the main things that happens is the major film studios show off their slate of movies coming to cinemas in the next year. Sony, Disney, WB, Universal, and Paramount gave a studio presentation and even screened the flash, the boogyman, and joyride for us.
I was originally not on board with Aaron Taylor Johnson as Kraven, but after watching him in Bullet Train, I’m cautiously optimistic. Need to see some media for it.
I'm really surprised no one too excited for the Transformers movie, I feel like it might just be a really cool action ride with just just cool action sequence and robots just fighting each other. I feel like it be another super mario movie and hopefully makes a billion dollars. I'm super worried it might get overshadowed due to spider-verse 2 and the flash, (even though I'm kinda excited NOT HYPED, im getting a little tired of comic book movies and the multiverse) but transformers look sick, I hop it gets billion and a new audience/fans.
Definitely agree, this is an interesting but cool time for movies. I didn't even know Five Nights at Freddy's was coming out in 2023, so thats something to look out for, along with all the other ones.
Those aren't decepticons in the ROTB trailer! Those are Terrorcons, which I guess is the name for Unicron's minions in this new universe the movies are in. The scorpions are predacons :3
With Spider-verse I have obviously high expectations but what I'm looking forward to is the themes it will tackle. It seems that Miles is being set up to lose another family member and the Spider-men will raise the point that "Spider-man has to suffer" The statement that's been stagnating the beloved comic character for over a decade. I really hope Miles's story is challenging this and displaying that it's change and growth and not relentless tragic is what truly defines Spider-man. Also the Transformers fan is yearning for the trailer to just me focusing on action cause it's a trailer and to the movie to be continuing in the new direction the franchise has had going since Bumblebee.
Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa feels like the off the wall casting that gave us Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and I'm here for it Editing with more takes: - Forgot Aquaman 2 is coming, that's exciting loved the energy of the first - As someone who majored in Physics, is very against developing weapons, and is a big Nolan fan Oppenheimer looks haunting and amazing
I'm a huge fan of superhero media & those movies make up the most of my list for movies I'm looking out for this yr but I'm also super interested in the hunger games prequel, dune part 2, n even Disney's wish, this yr is looking very intriguing for the cinemas 👀
Reminder for the comments section, Rise of the Beasts is the sequel to the Bumblebee movie which rebooted the Transformers film continuity in the new universe. But the director and producer are being cagey about it as to not alienate the very few Bayformers fans, but I think anyone with functioning eyes can see the truth here.
just in case anyone doesnt know, melissa mccarthy did actually used to be a drag queen so it would be accurate to say that her performance is directly influenced by drag and could be a very faithful adaptation of the writer's original ideas for Ursula, but other than that i think i agree about the little mermaid stuff, although will add the halle bailey vocal performances are bound to SLAP :)
Regarding your spiderman opinion, I bet that the trailer only shows snippets of only one part of the movie. Weve been told that the Spot is the main antagonist and from what we've seen, Spot has been kinda missing. I think for trailers, they wanted to show the fans all the spider people to get everyone hyped and show just a tiny snippet of the rest of the movie's plot. So I'm sure the plot and (lets be honest what really matters are the characters are going to be still as awesome as before
The list of movies coming this year is WILD many of them I haven't even heard was happening, like another Saw and Ghostbusters Very excited for Spiderverse, Flash, Barbie, and Blue Beetle I have no thoughts about Aquaman 2. Will wait for a trailer to see my excitement, but I'm definitely interested cause I love DC
The biggest thing that worries me about The 2024 is that there are a lot of movies that are very close together. I could see Flash doing bad because of Spider-Verse 2.
My Most Anticipated Movies of this Year 1. Spider Verse 2 2. The Flash 3. Guardians 3 4. Five Nights At Freddys 5. Stan Lee 6. Elemental 7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem 8. Blue Beetle 9. Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken 10. Aquaman 2
My take on the new Fast and Furious movie - I have only seen tokyo drift and none of the others have I ever been interested in but for some reason this one looked pretty fun so I might just go in blind to it
So this maybe an unpopular opinion here dashed with a massive amount of bias: I'm most excited for but also most worried about Transformers. It's my favorite multimedia franchise, and I've never been into the Bay films to the point I skipped Bumblebee because I had no faith in people adapting it. I want more alien robots in my alien robots movie, and the Bay films never seemed to care unless that bot was named Bumblebee or Optimus (and don't get me wrong, I love Optimus; dude's up there with Batman and Luke Skywalker as my favorite heroes), and even then they character assassinated Optimus so bad in every Bay sequel. The humans are necesary to the franchise so I'm not saying scrub them unless it's a prequel on Cybertron like the upcoming animated film, but the Bay humans were always just so boring and unlikable, especially the main protagonists. Noah seems fairly fine so far from the trailers but we'll see once the movie is out. I also want my robots to not look so overcomplicated like the Bayforners designs, and for the most part ROTB and Bumblebee nail what I want with a few exceptions. Also, I love that they're incorporating Beast Wars. I didn't grow up with it but the franchise as a whole has really begun to embrace media outside of the original cartoon and the Bay films, so to see characters who came from outside G1 make it to the big screen is a huge win. And Scourge being based on the RID2001 cartoon instead of G1 is another example of that. And UNICRON. I cannot express how quickly I regressed into a little kid when I saw him in the trailer. Yet despite how much I like where this movie seems to be going, there's this nagging in the back of my head that I'll be let down again and that the only Transformers movie I will ever like is the 1986 movie.
dude, I'm so excited for it, but I do worried it might be overshadow by spider-verse and the flash (i really they delayed, cause this be the best Transformer movie and people miss it) I think it might be enjoyable ride, just cool action sequence and s***. I think this might be this year TOP Gun mavrick, but it just a nice action movie, with no multiverse and crap. Maybe that why I'm not too excited for spider-man and flash. But yeah transformers looks sick.
Just putting this out there. How about Paul Mescal as Gunn’s Batman? He looks older than he is so could play the role for longer and was nominated for an Oscar portraying a father to a daughter around Damian’s age.
I think Barbie is definitely going to be a movie that could flop or be great depending on how much studio interference there is, like the Janes Gunn live action Scooby Doo. If the studio interferes too much to cut the dirty jokes or something for a younger audience it could still be enjoyable, but missing the point of the original concept.
I’ve been in animal rescue for 42 years and I couldn’t even get through the trailer for Strays without being triggered. This is not a fertile field for comedy if you’ve seen firsthand the cruelty people perpetrate on animals.
I don’t like that they’re making like, my third favorite Spider-Man the bad guy, but I can deal with it because the first was so fucking good. Fingers crossed I guess.
Elemental seems fine. Its just the plot seems very, "What if love was forbidden!!!???!!... but like, for straight people." A story about that has to be very well done for me not to feel "🙄 Sucks for you I guess."
The actress playing the DCEU Supergirl CAN. NOT. play Supergirl in the DCU. Don't even sit there and talk about it being a possibility so casually because it's NOT. The DCU is a FULL REBOOT. They aren't continuing ANY plot points or stories or character arcs AT ALL from the DCEU because none of the DCEU will be required viewing or of any importance to the DCU whatsoever after the reboot. Because why would it be?? They CAN NOT recast any main characters because then a MASSIVE part of the audience will be trying to figure out how that character's DCU appearance connects to their DCEU appearance, but it WON'T. The audience management required would be a nightmare. "You gotta see The Flash movie starring Michael Keaton as the main character Batman and a creepy little psychotic criminal as his sidekick The Flash because they reset the universe in it BuT, yOu SEe, iT's a SOft rEboOt..." get real. We'll be able to follow the DCU by watching the DCU content alone and we won't have to wonder about if we missed previous histories of any of the characters the way any casual viewer who doesn't bother knowing about "timelines" and "universes" undoubtedly would if they were looking at an actor that they KNOW played the same character in a different movie series. People who suggest this kind of nonsense as if literally anything is possible are too content being focused into their own little worlds where anything THEY think IS possibile to try and look objectively at the big picture and the obvious directions things are actually going.
I'm a little surprised you don't like the hunger games, I liked those books and then loved the movies. one of those situations where the movie is way better than the book that said, I haven't read the prequel. I'll see it, but idk what to expect aside from Snow prequel
the thing about ursula is her voice actor and singer has a very loud and powerful voice...i think melissa can pull it off..but lizzo has a natural loud and powerful voice in terms of singing and speaking ..based on a few commericals ive seen lizzo in , she has comedic range
Guardians is tracking terribly, worse than Ant Man 3. I think this year will be ROUGH on Marvel. All of Disney's hits will be outside of that ecosystem. Mermaid, maybe Indy, maybe Elemental, most-likely Wish. I am specifically talking box office here, not critical/audience reception.
Guardians 3 is currently tracking 130-150million+ on opening weekend and 400 million worldwide, that's definitely not worse then antman 3 quantumania in any way shape or form as its basically guaranteed to do better than antman 3 at the box office for sure.
@@iraford5788 Thanks, must have missed an update. It had been looking bad. No doubt it does better than Ant Man 3, but if it only does GotG 2 or less box office, thinks are looking grim. I'll definitely be seeing it this weekend, I'm just thinking the audience has shrunk.
It was just a really fun trailer and it’s got tons of buzz from industry people who’ve seen the script and loved it. It’s like, the Lego movie came out of nowhere and had a ton of heart and fantastic gags, and people have been comparing the two.
I'm predicting that Barbie, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Wonka will all be bangers.

Lots of nando recently let’s goo!!
Tell me you like camp without telling me you like camp🎉
Lol I'm looking forward to Barbie, Spiderman and the little mermaid
The next 2019 of movies
Just putting this out there. How about Paul Mescal as Gunn’s Batman? He looks older than he is so could play the role for longer and was nominated for an Oscar portraying a father to a daughter around Damian’s age.
he's not interested in IPs
Lady Gaga should've been Ursula.
Yes! I loved Quantamania and Scream VI this year. I want to see D&D Guardians 3 and Barbie!!!
i NEED THE NEXT ALEX RIDER/PERCY JACKSON SEASON
I’ve been in animal rescue for 42 years and I couldn’t even get through the trailer for Strays without being triggered. This is not a fertile field for comedy if you’ve seen firsthand the cruelty people perpetrate on animals.
Did i just hear a fucking AIM door open!? 😂
melissa mccarthy was a drag queen so i think she’s perfectly cast
tho nina west would’ve been great too
Saltburn underrated
Don’t scare me regarding the potential letdown of Spider-Verse like that…
I don’t like that they’re making like, my third favorite Spider-Man the bad guy, but I can deal with it because the first was so fucking good. Fingers crossed I guess.
Elemental seems fine. Its just the plot seems very, "What if love was forbidden!!!???!!... but like, for straight people."
A story about that has to be very well done for me not to feel "🙄 Sucks for you I guess."
"Ever so often a movie has everything going for it but still manages to be bad .”
We meet again phantom menace ☠️☠️☠️
So Barbie and Wonka are going to be 2 of the best movies of the year? 🤨
Well one at least
Why did they hire the uncharted writers to write kraven? Uncharted was so ass
JC Chandor will probably write most of it
Fancasting a black woman as Ursula is not groundbreaking like you think it is. Y’all love masculinizing and villainizing black women, it’s weird.
Ursula is blue, who cares what race you cast?
@@rampantrambling you don’t have the range for this conversation.
Ima watch barbie because itll either be good or bad good yk goofy
Who is saying no to james gunn superman lol thats the only man i want doing that job
I'm a little surprised you don't like the hunger games, I liked those books and then loved the movies. one of those situations where the movie is way better than the book
that said, I haven't read the prequel. I'll see it, but idk what to expect aside from Snow prequel
Elemental is literally the most basic story ever
I really don’t know what you’re seeing in The Marvels that excites you
I think Tenet is garbage masking as a masterpiece
No flash is the definition of garbage trying to masquerading as art with also a criminal
Can Lizzo act?
Good question.
the thing about ursula is her voice actor and singer has a very loud and powerful voice...i think melissa can pull it off..but lizzo has a natural loud and powerful voice in terms of singing and speaking ..based on a few commericals ive seen lizzo in , she has comedic range
I mean, enough that she's in the new season of Mandalorian
It already is bc rotj is back
Guardians is tracking terribly, worse than Ant Man 3. I think this year will be ROUGH on Marvel. All of Disney's hits will be outside of that ecosystem. Mermaid, maybe Indy, maybe Elemental, most-likely Wish. I am specifically talking box office here, not critical/audience reception.
Guardians 3 is currently tracking 130-150million+ on opening weekend and 400 million worldwide, that's definitely not worse then antman 3 quantumania in any way shape or form as its basically guaranteed to do better than antman 3 at the box office for sure.
good. disney needs to be burnt down
@@iraford5788 Thanks, must have missed an update. It had been looking bad. No doubt it does better than Ant Man 3, but if it only does GotG 2 or less box office, thinks are looking grim. I'll definitely be seeing it this weekend, I'm just thinking the audience has shrunk.
I don’t understand the hype around Barbie. I feel so out of the loop
It was just a really fun trailer and it’s got tons of buzz from industry people who’ve seen the script and loved it.
It’s like, the Lego movie came out of nowhere and had a ton of heart and fantastic gags, and people have been comparing the two.
Mellisa mccarthy has never once been a good casting choice imo lol shes so mid shes literally my friends unfunny mom that thinks shes hillarious
NO.
