Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us & I love the look of the pieces you were making the moulds of. They look super, so I’ll have to try to look more up into your metal clay too! N.K :)
Hi there, great video, can't wait to try this. Can you tell me about how long do I need to wait before using the molds and are they suitable for metal clays?
Wonderful video. you mentioned that it didn't smell very good...could you use essential oils (peppermint, lavender, etc.) instead of the cooking oil to help it smell better???
thankyou Laura great you like it yes do try anything that has a oil base but do a small test first and see how it goes l will allso be doing one all about 3D Moulds and how to make them so look out for that
There is a strong silicone smell when making the recipe up. You do need to make the mixture in a well ventilated area - this could be outside or near an open window
If you are in the USA you can purchase Aussie Metal Clays from cooltools if you are in the UK go to If in Australia www.aussiemetalclay.com Instructions for use can be seen on these websites and on other videos on the Aussie Metal clay UA-cam channel
Thank you Stacie, I have never used Arrowroot so it would be something that you would need to test out for yourself. Regarding the Silicon a caulking tool is needed to push the silicon out of the tube, both tube of silicon and tool available from hardware shops if you us the same type of silicon as in the video. I do believe you can also buy it in a tube like tooth paste as well which would not require a caulking tool
Ingredients are listed in the description under the video. Let me know if you have any other questions, but Ill write them here for you: Ingredients: Silicone Caulking Gun with Silicone Glass & Window (used in this video) Corn Flour or Corn Starch Olive Oil Water based colour - either paint of food colouring, based on your choice of colour

The reason it smells bad is from the acetic acid that is needed for curing.
If the mixture is 2 kilo of corn starch, how much do we put from edible oil?
How did you get the two part molds apart after they set? Thanks
does the glue smell disgusting? I tried it but never made up.. because of the smell.....

Would it be possible to use potato starch instead? Corn starch is a bit hard to come by where I live.
Henrik Ive not tried Potato starch but if I were you I would give it a go and see how it works. Id love to hear how it works for you
It's just corn flour, Its called cornstarch in USA
I thought molds were supposed to be 1/4” or so thicker than the piece you are molding?
it will depend on what you are making but for metal clay its good and some other clay types
can arrowroot work? and is the caulking machine required?
