Dear Mr Shaw. I just watched your Ted talk on why people believe that they can't draw. Very inspiring. I'm one of those who believe I can't. You style is simple and make people believe in themselves. Thanks a million.
I learn drawing from your TED talk😄👍
me 2
Because of your TED talk, I want to make notes through drawing so I can remember more about our lessons... Thank you so much for inspiring us
hi sir! your ted talk about drawing really made me realize a lot of things, thank you sir!
I've always been terrible at names but I've concentrated really hard to practise people's names and focus more on remembering.
Practise really helps
Practice makes perfect as they say
i am raj from india saw your amazing video in TED ...i know i am expecting more from you it would be awesome if you can come with a short video a day...god bless all
You are great need more videos like this
I use the following trick in meetings where the participants sit around a table:
- I draw the table on a paper with little avatars of the persons.
- during the introduction I insist I understand the name (often there is a list of participants I can check off the person)
- during the meeting I try to rehearse the name and guess the name (while someone speaks)
- after the meeting in the hotel I mentally look at the table and restate the names
I used to be really really bad at remembering names. This trick helps a lot. It works for me for up to 20 new people.
I often speak about the trick and tell people in direct conversations that I will try to guess their names.
Unfortunately the memory of the names decays quite quickly: after two three weeks I have forgotten most of the names. After months all of them are forgotten, unless I have contact with the team.
That's a great tip Michael. Brilliant - I love the guessing idea and can see that working really well. Thank you for sharing that,
I'm.learning your drawing it's really helpful in my classroom my students are enjoying it
