WOWZER!! I don’t know what’s different about this walk but everything looks super-sharp, sticks, rocks and all the different textures and colors on the trees, it all really pops out, and I can almost smell the earth, and trees, the difference between the green smell of vegetation and the dry grass and twigs, the moss-covered rocks, the drier lichen smell; like actually being there with you and RUBY. Very grateful to tag along with you both. RUBY is just incredible and watching her move/walk is fun and relaxing. And the quotes you insert are always appropriate and meaningful. I have meant to ask before but keep forgetting: how do you keep the camera so steady and level? Rarely does the camera bounce with your steps and most of the time it seems like you’re gliding or flying. Also what kind of camera or cameras do you use? Do you bathe RUBY after a walk in the woods? I’m pretty sure you guys wind up in or close to patches of poison ivy; are you allergic to poison ivy? If so do you usually take precautions to avoid coming in contact with it? Did you ever need to carry RUBY for some reason? I hope you don’t mind all these questions. Thanks for sharing RUBY and your adventures!!🐾❤️
Hey! No I don't mind the questions, I appreciate them! Thanks for noticing, we did upgrade the camera a little while back. Everything should look sharper etc. I just use a GoPro. They are meant for action shots like pov during sports etc. so they have a built-in internal stabilization feature but....I connect it to a gimbal to get that extra smooth movement on the shots. The gimbal also helps to get lower shots without having to squat and walk at the same time as well as makes any panning super level. I like watching the smoothness of the playback too!
We've never had contact with poison ivy but we often take a bath after a walk if she gets dirty or we take a walk where she might get dirty if we already have a bath planned. lol. We always take a bath after swimming though.
The only time I can recall having to carry Ruby is when we came across a bridge with a metal grate walkway with big spaces, she didn't want to walk on it so I picked her up and we crossed.
