1 hour live stream test: ua-cam.com/users/liveUtSvkF64d6w
The ring contains 64 dominos. A ramp runs along the inside of the ring, opposite the falling dominos, to lift them back up. A Mindstorms EV3 is used to monitor and control the speed of the ramp so that it matches the falling dominos.
Shout out to @GrantDavis for his awesome infinite domino machine ( • Infinite LEGO Domino M... ), which inspired me to finally finish this project.

The rainbow is pretty satisfying, but I’d love to see a full gradient, like each domino fading into the next color
10000%
I think LEGO has some missing colors? I may have old info.
Yeah not really possible with current Lego colors
By my count he could do a rainbow of 14 colors without it looking weird. The other colors are too light or too dark. The problem is a lot of the colors I used probably don't come in the bricks required.
I used Red, Orange, Bright Light Orange, Yellow, Neon Yellow, Lime, Bright Green, Green, Dark Turquoise, Medium Azure, Dark Azure, Blue, Dark Purple, Magenta.
It's possible if you use small pieces and have one or few dominos be made of two colors. Something what pixel artists do.
I just realized after watching this thing mutliple times in multiple videos. This is basically the lego version of a loading/buffer wheel, but I actually like watching this one.
The UI element you refer to is known as a spinner, throbber, or indefinite progress indicator. Their purpose is to indicate your machine is not frozen, although the result is not ready. Same thing with disk or network activity lights. The other side of this would be a "watchdog timer" (or impatient user), which aborts a process (timing out) if it's not showing enough signs of activity.
Both tile changes were good, could they be combined together (rainbow w/white backs)? I think it helps visually with noticing which blocks are down.
Or: lighter shades of the colours on their backs
With a bigger ring, that double wave would probably look amazing. As it is now, it’s a little too small to pull it off.
That would need so much lego parts, even for him 😅
@@Ptiripou-pf2nki don’t think they were saying to make it bigger, just explaining why the effect doesn’t exactly work like expected now.
👏🏻👏🏻🤩💯🏆🎵🥳🎉🎶
I LOVE the double-wave at this speed & diameter!! Just right for my brain!
3:35 my brain went "hey wait, that's me?" Thank you, these different things was satisfying. You're brilliant
Just subbed to u!
Considering the ramp runs on train tracks I'm wondering if other shapes besides a circle are possible, but that'd involve a pretty thorough redesign of the system with driving motors on the ramp-train itself controlled remotely by the mindstorms unit.
Yes, it's possible. Also, the Powered Up hubs used in current Lego train sets are programmable and communicate via radio, so you don't need specifically Mindstorms. The train motor doesn't have the rotation sensor to know its speed precisely, but this design uses feedback from the flag, so that's not critical.
Power Functions trains can also be remote controlled, but with less precision, so you might need frequent checkpoints to keep them from running into the falling wave.
Love this for my ADHD brain
Same
Same and I have ADHD
Brain go happy mode with the click sound. So agree.
Ya my head went like 🔁

Dude made the most satisfying loading screen
Yes
This is so fun! I wonder if you could add a couple of MOC figures on the front and back parts of the train to make it look like one guy is knocking down the bricks and the other is picking them back up? Not really a test, just seems like it could be fun visually.
When the wedge is going faster than the wave front (42%), start a second wave behind it (the wedge) before it catches up with the first. Repeat as necessary.
OMG it's like the loading logo 😂
Love it, so satisfying ❤
Now add a camera to the rotating part showing the dominos fall infinitely
As I can see bricks consist of many pieces. You could make a fake gradient by mixing some of the colors of bricks in rainbow
F.ex. First red brick is fully red, next one has one orange part, next one has 2 orange parts, ... next only 2 parts red, 1 part red, fully orange.
And then continue until full set is colored in such gradient!
In any way, thank you for those experiments! Especially 2 simultanious waves. Such satisfaction😊
Whole video for peoples comments. Always glad when creators actually care enough for giving viewers attention.
One must imagine Brickworks happy
lol
Very satisfying
indeed
Now make a real configuracle track out of it with straight lines and turns. You may even add slopes if you can. I would love to see how you manage to rework the ramp.
Configuracle?
I really liked where it was just chasing the falling dominoes. It looked like it was trying to catch up but never quite can.
Super cool
Cool end shot with the logo lining up with the build.
One must image the lego machine happy
The single wave is fun to watch, the double wave is truly mesmerizing. 😳
The rainbow one is so pretty!!! Always fascinating to watch your creations. :)
The sound is so cool!
would be interesting if you made the whole build itself rotate at the same speed as the arm lifts the dominoes, so the point of falling/lifting would "stay in place" from the perspective of the camera, then maybe the version with rainbow colors would also look more satisfying as they would "flow" into one another in a way... not sure if it would work as easily as I imagine, but definitely could look cool
One must imagine Sisyphus to be happy.
One must imagine domino happy
I think it would be interesting to see you try to make 2 separate rings of domino's falling however one ring falls clockwise while the second ring falls counter clockwise
So satisfying. I want it. Great job
One could imagine dominos happy right now
This is like a loading icon!
Satisfying
i'd like to see the camera mounted above the axis that the ramp is rotating around, looking straight down and rotating along with the ramp.
Absolutely AWESOME build by an Imaginative GENIUS!!
👏🏻👏🏻🏆💯🤩👍🏻🎶😍🎉🥳🎉🎵
Fabulous & Creative Builds!!
I’ve been binge-watching your videos for several hours and L❤VE how you build repetitive actions and “more complex combination mechanisms” from “simple” action builds, and integrate them into your Lego figures & creatures & scenes! Thank You So Much for sharing them with us!! 😍
Sisyphus moment 💀
Making the ramp lead the dominoes is by far the most compelling display. Balanced looks too mechanical, almost like the falling is as controlled as the resetting. Trailing and double are in the middle.
Mesmerizing!
This is amazing
Make a 10 hour loop of just this going round and round. This will help me fall asleep. Please please please!
The problem is that the falling speed is not perfectly matching any speed he can set the train to go around at, so it only lasts a couple minutes.
@@SamuraiGuywith the mindstorm sensors it may be possible to detect when the train passes a certain point and when the falling dominos reach that point, then adjust the speed accordingly.
@@dragonmasterlangeweg7625... that's precisely what this design does to begin with. More detail in the first video. The too slow or fast examples here are done by disabling the control loop.
soooooooooooo satisfying 😮
I’m ngl, I feel like it’d be cool to have a construction theme around this, like having a diorama- or even a functional model that you could interact with.
Bigger Ring! or make the control on the track itself so you can have other shapes!
One idea came to my mind, and that would be playing with different levels/heights. Maybe even a second storage and the falling dominos changing with each round from up to down and vice versa.
That is a mind bend my man
I still say that Sisyphus should be pushing the train, constantly resetting the dominoes!
The double one was awesome.
I really like the double wave 👍
One must imagine Sisyphus happy...
I can't believe I got a shout-out in this video with my old youtube handle haha.
(I was the one suggesting rainbow bricks.)
So wicked
I was telling a friend of mine about this and when she finally asked the inevitable question of how do they stand back up without missing a beat and with the most dead serious face I said "I'm not sure but it's magic probably or some type of sorcery, witchcraft maybe"?😃 Cue the spit take followed by 3 minutes of gutbursting laughter. 😂🤣
So mesmerizing to watch! one question: how does one collect so many pieces to build things like this?!
A lot of lego youtubers will order parts online (eg, at bricklink) when they know what they need for a project. Do that enough and you get a hefty collection for experimenting before you have a solid plan. Otherwise, just a lengthy history of buying lego sets.
1:25 is like a loading screen from a game 🤣🤣
It would be amazing to see two rings of dominoes fall in opposite direction, with two carts (on two levels potentially) lifting them back up. However, it would it different timings per round, but still fun.
It would be cool to see like a ball travel along with the falling dominoes. I don't know how that would work out, but maybe like add a groove to the dominoes so the ball would fall through the groove onto the next domino etc.
one must imagine sisyphus happy
This would make a cool loading screen for a lego game
SICKKK
neat
What if you motorised the train, and then have it run underneath a track of a different shape? In theory you could run it under any shape of domino track, but something like a figure 8 or rectangle would be cool
Top 10 most satisfying things to look at open place this at 4th place there might be more satisfying things out there
My mind goes "Kitchen Machine"... now I want to make a cake.
do you think it would be possible to do a figure 8, where the train gets handed off to another arm? it might have to be a double train so that the intersection doesnt have any overlap
Is it possible to make the whole track turn instead of making the train go around? I wonder if some physics effect would help it match speed that way, and I think the rainbow would look better that way.
Cool
if you could put maybe a plate over the middle i think it would be more mesmerizing because the ramp kind of draws attention away from the dominos
My new loading screen:
Loading screens need to look like this
i like both version of this Domino
If the ring has 4 trains it will look like an Argentinian symbol that my grandad salutes everyday😊
Maybe you could make an infinity shape? The center would be a tricky part though
This machine memorises me.
Memorise?
@@afantashoon6969i believe they ment mesmerize.
@@dragonmasterlangeweg7625 most likely yes.
“Hey it’s me flying gorilla and I made a game flying gorilla” 😂😂😂
One must imagine the ramp happy
Hey guys, interested by those kind of technic constructions for a few month I was wondering where to start in terms of obtaining all those specifics lego gears and pieces ? (should I pick different lego technic set or anything like that)
Oh I remember this thing!
REALLY love your work man.
But I've been meaning to ask you
Where do You buy your pieces? I've been looking for them on LEGO stores but I can't find pieces like the ones You use
Wow!!
6:01 looks like a loading logo 😂😂
Would it work with mini figures pegged on top of or instead of the dominoes?
would it be possible to add a second or even third layer on top? like a multi-layered cake made of lego dominos
it seems to take almost exactly 5 seconds to make one revolution, if you skip ahead or behind with the arrow keys the pusher ends up in the same spot
Multi layer like a tower running different speeds to make it look like theres a constant spiral goin up
One must imagine sisyputh happy
I don't know if it would work, but maybe legofigures instead of bricks!
this has to be a sisyphus reference
One must imagine Lego robot happy
Is there a way to get a second, inner ring that moves at the opposite direction?
literal sisyphus reference
now imagine if there was a doubble wave on the rainbow for the memes espechily becase of doubble rainbow songs on youtube lol
how fast and how slow can you make the ramp go???
how about the bricks turning and the train stationary
how big of a ring can you possibly make? can you fit 300 dominos?
Can you use a train motor and have some other turns or straight lines?
is there a way to make it an irregular shape?
So when are you going to make a Zoetrope?
How does it do that disappearing trick? Then it turns the domino's white on one side. Amazing.
A non-circular version would be interesting.
Could you make a working arcade machine with a tutorial and all the pieces
Is this how loading screen circles are born
