Let the guy said this is not a fair fight! I know ATS Coupe is coming but Cadillac gotta come up with ATS V-Sport for sedan also just like the one with CTS sedan.
They should make the ATS V sport with the 3.6L twin-turbo V6 with maybe 390 HP and 390 lbs-ft of torque, and then the hard-core ATS-V should get the 6.2L LT1 V8 with 455 HP and 460 lbs-ft of torque. Sadly, that might not happen.
Motor Trend did compare the Infiniti and Lexus and they said "if you want a track car then go with the Infiniti. If you want a car that is fun for everyday driving then pick the Lexus." The Lexus won the comparison. The Lexus IS also beat the BMW 335 in comparison too. So now I'm curious as to how fun it is to drive but I'm still an Infiniti guy myself. The IS F is the only one that is fast enough of the Lexus cars.
the caddy looks dated, the lexus kinda tries to hard. but i'd take either car and be happy. btw i have driven both cars for an extended period (3-4 days) and i have to admit the caddy surprised me the most. drives great and has good luxury traits. though the lexus feels more refined, the caddy is a better drivers car. pick and choose what is more important, more sport or more luxury
interior of the ATS, especially the speedometer sucks! That said I completely disagree, the edge on exterior style is all ATS. Lexis is nice but sort of played out.
No. This would compete against the 3.6L V6. An IS-F would compete with the ATS-V, but unfortunately Lexus did not come out with an IS-F for this generation.
The wood is way too glossy in the ATS. I dont like the cup holders since you cant close them. I hardly drink anything in my car so i expect a sliding cover to keep my cell phone etc. Lexus on the another is not bad as well. Both of them are great cars. Lexus still win because of reliability.
The is f model comes short against the 3 series but is a better driving car than the ats when it has been proved that the ats is the best handling and more fun to drive in its class. Everyone can do a car review these days.
Lexus IS350 F Sport.......because everybody wants a sports car that has mind boggling understeer. Thanks, but I`ll take the Cadillac engineering, performance and build quality.

And another thing is even if there is no V sport version for ATS i don't understand why AutoGuide decided to test 2.0T version. The Lexus is F sport is the most sporty, n powerful of all IS, so they should've use the most powerful of ATS which is the V6 version! Lexus was smart to charge less than the BMW. Cadillac is just insane if they think people will buy an ATS over a 3 series for the same price :/
American and European have and always will be better than Asian cars. Europeans cars are the best. American cars are good for those who really want a decent ride. Reliability of a car will be based on how you treat your car. If you take care of your car, it will take care of you.
This is the most ridiculous statement I've ever seen. Do you mean American treat their cars like shit and Japanese love their cars as babies? In my opinion, European made great drivers' car but low reliability. Asian made great reliability cars but lack of dynamic experience. American only make thirsty dragrace crap.
Feng Zhang Completely true!............a few yrs ago. Update that opinion to 2014 please! America's trying to do a turn around and aren't doing......too bad, at it.
I agree with u. I just stand for majority of them. American make great cars like Z28. German make reliable machine like 911 and Japan make great driver car like GTR. They all perfect works.

Motortrend said they hated the manual in this car and now the 6 speed is a slush box. Wat a waste of great chassis. They shud get the 8speed from the cts in this
The ATS still had an "as tested" price several thousand dollars higher than the IS350 F-Sport?? What is Cadillac thinking? The only thing going for the ATS was supposed to be performance. The interior (especially the gauge cluster) is hideous, and the exterior is way too conservative with ugly headlights. The new IS is an amazing car. The interior is probably *the best* in its class, and it's significantly cheaper than most (all?) of the alternatives. Between these two, IS wins hands down.
1.the lexus is the most top of the line IS while the ATS isnt 2.the interior of the lexus is on top plz dont talk shit about it its from LFA 3.Lexus engines are the BEST nothing can beat then in reliability dont be surprised if you saw a lexus with 150k on it and still the owner revs it like its new and they dont overheat. 4.sadly both of them are crap now, check out the new Infiniti Q50 S, that thing has way better interior and exterior than both of them combined, way better handling almost 0 understeer and drifts really easily if you want it to, if you saw a Lexus IS drifting call it fake.
All of mine have been gems, 05 STS4 1sg has been a darling and I still have it, 05 deville limited has been amazing and I still have it, just bought a 13 ats 2.0t and I also have 69 deville. They have never broken down or left me stranded. I’ve just done regular maintenance and they have been great. Maybe the problem was you?
Not exactly apples to apples, but I'm shocked that even tho the Lexus had the bigger engine and sport package it cost less than a turbo 4 all wheel drive ATS. $47 for a four cylinder, yikes.
Cursed cadillac, plus the infiniti q50 is the most dynamic in the class, and it's faster than the bmw 3 series (at least in hybrid form where it has 360 horsepower).
This is apples and oranges comparison... Yes I know they admitted this at the start of the video. They should have compared more comparable models. 6 cyl. vs. 6 cyl. they would have been much closer and maybe the Caddy would have had the better time.
lexus is less expensive than ats and is a all around better vehicle. that's the bottom line. Now to compare the the V6 engine ats is crazy. that's around $15k more.
lexus is not less expensive, a top of the line ATS V6 Premium cost $47-48k (cadillac offers $3,000 incentives) + 0% apr finance 72months. I dont see Lexus selling any of their new IS like hot cakes.
Lexus need to learn from Cadillac which is state of the art design but what can you expect from a brand that is owed by Toyota, a company known for bland and boring design
So these guys not only compared the weaker ATS model to the upgraded Lexus, they put the fatter guy in the smaller engine on a 90+ degree hot day? Yikes! How much did Lexus pay you for this "fair" review?
Lexus is by far better than the caddilac. The lexus' spindle grill brings out a unjque and bold design to the is350! The cadillac just looks like shit in design, interior and performance! Poor western engineering of the cadillac :( Long live Lexus!
This is a bias review why not the v6? in the caddy?
They should have at least pitted it against the Premium RWD ATS with stiffer FE3 Magnetic Ride Control suspension and 200 lbs lighter.
Exactly
Well, I now have an E85 tune on my ATS 2.0T Premium which is good for 315 hp and 350 ft/lbs so bring it on IS350.

why would you have the 2.0t with an automatic trans?
compare lexus and infniti q50
There is a comparison done by Head 2 Head between those two cars.
yea I know but motor trend is a different company this is autoguide
I want to see what they have to say
Motor Trend did compare the Infiniti and Lexus and they said "if you want a track car then go with the Infiniti. If you want a car that is fun for everyday driving then pick the Lexus." The Lexus won the comparison. The Lexus IS also beat the BMW 335 in comparison too. So now I'm curious as to how fun it is to drive but I'm still an Infiniti guy myself. The IS F is the only one that is fast enough of the Lexus cars.
Seriously view the Lexus in real life. It actually looks really fucking sexy
Apsisu Isu it looks worse, and they are all driven by Asian women
Why dont we compare two that are equal??
Perhaps , the cadillac 2014 3.6 v6 ? Exacly fuckers
Ok idk what kind of ATS they got but why does the speedometer go up to 260 mph? Not right
Because the ATS is a rocket.
Interesting and likewise informative comparison, AutoGuide. Would be interested in seeing how the all new Infiniti Q50 compares with these two.
BEEN AWHILE FOR A REVIEW GUYS
2:31 The lexus IS350 F-Sport looks like someone sat on the front end and squished it.. in This angle it looks malformed
Yea, that mix-up was so embarrassing we HAD to fix it.
the caddy looks dated, the lexus kinda tries to hard. but i'd take either car and be happy. btw i have driven both cars for an extended period (3-4 days) and i have to admit the caddy surprised me the most. drives great and has good luxury traits. though the lexus feels more refined, the caddy is a better drivers car. pick and choose what is more important, more sport or more luxury
Was that really a fair fight?
Wow, that was underwhelming on BOTH fronts. I'll never get that 12 minutes of my life back :-/ .
interior of the ATS, especially the speedometer sucks! That said I completely disagree, the edge on exterior style is all ATS. Lexis is nice but sort of played out.
So this is a top of line is? Shouldnt this review wait for a ats-v?
IZ IT THE ISF
Enlighten us. What, exactly, looks "cheap"?
The is f model comes short against the 3 series but is a better driving car than the ats when it has been proved that the ats is the best handling and more fun to drive in its class. Everyone can do a car review these days.
Lexus IS350 F Sport.......because everybody wants a sports car that has mind boggling understeer. Thanks, but I`ll take the Cadillac engineering, performance and build quality.
Build quality? Lexus has the best build quality in the world, they last forever. Cadillac went bankrupt due to poor build quality. Smh
kgisabeast "they last forever".... lol, said the worlds biggest Lexus fanboi. Maybe when driven by his Auntie who by the way is about the only people who drive them today. Cadillac participates all over the world in sports car racing and there's a reason for it, go find your Lexus on aisle 5 right next to the tampons.
kgisabeast by the way, this is coming from the boy who doesn't know the difference between shocks and struts and his Lexus is spewing coolant all over the road, just read his posts.

www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2014/04/who-makes-the-best-cars/index.htm
Facts are facts, and yes, I needed a new radiator hose, but that was the first thing I've changed in 4 years of ownership and my car has 220k miles so not bad at all
So you're saying that Cadillac AKA (Chevy)has better quality than Lexus! 😂😂😂 get the hell out of here.
And another thing is even if there is no V sport version for ATS i don't understand why AutoGuide decided to test 2.0T version. The Lexus is F sport is the most sporty, n powerful of all IS, so they should've use the most powerful of ATS which is the V6 version! I think IS is better than ATS ultimately but they shouldn't be as far off as they are in performance as this car suggest. GS-F vs CTS-V is totally different story tho, CTS Win!
lexus is BEAUTIFUL! on the other hand.............
Put the f sport against the ATS-V and see what happens
Sorry the Lexus IS350 over heated on the track as well as the ATS while the 3 series crushed both cars while keeping its cool
Why do all these reviews love to hate on Cadillacs so much
Because they're pieces of garbage. Just look at the instrument cluster. Belongs on a $12k rental car chevy.
@@ruthnoya8424 ok and look at the cluster of these foreign cars with the mounted flat touch screen. Reminds me of a car in 1999 with a aftermarket mounted TV screen in a rap video
@@ruthnoya8424 hahaha you the garbage… 2013 ats waa car of the year and it sold a lot. I have one. They are great cars, your just ignorant…
@@sirloin4372
Lol car of the year!‽ By who? Motor Trend or some other paid off shill of an "authority." Let me guess, JDPower lmao 🤣. The Lexus IS sold more units than the ATS. Oh, and I'm rolling an is350 😋
@@ruthnoya8424 just because something sold more doesn’t make it better. By your logic a Prius is better then your Lexus…. Oh I own 4 Cadillacs and one is an ats….
I'm looking into buying one or the other, but when I saw that dash and the Cadillac I almost wanted to shut my phone off
ATS looks way better than the IS!
What does that even mean? The Lexus still cost several thousand $ less than the ATS, as tested. The comparison was more than fair. Maybe you should ask Cadillac why they're overcharging for the ATS.
Most stupidest statement in history, you even got Guinness's attention.
I agree with u. I just stand for majority of them. American make great cars like Z28. German make reliable machine like 911 and Japan make great driver car like GTR. They all perfect works.
Dumb af
My god that fucking lexus is so damn sexy I have is300 I just wish I had the money to buy the new1.... lexus great job with the design jesus what a machine..
This is the fastest IS...same with the GS...until 2016.
Lexus!
1.the lexus is the most top of the line IS while the ATS isnt
2.the interior of the lexus is on top plz dont talk shit about it its from LFA
3.Lexus engines are the BEST nothing can beat then in reliability dont be surprised if you saw a lexus with 150k on it and still the owner revs it like its new and they dont overheat.
4.sadly both of them are crap now, check out the new Infiniti Q50 S, that thing has way better interior and exterior than both of them combined, way better handling almost 0 understeer and drifts really easily if you want it to, if you saw a Lexus IS drifting call it fake.
All my caddies we’re horrible for reliability escalade fell apart and the ctsv was always in the shop......lexus is the direct opposite
Show us what the Lexus did against the red car in the background! Ferrari? C-8?!
Why didnt they use 2014 ats
Should have added a chevy volt...
who is ever going to use either of these cars on the track???
Not exactly apples to apples, but I'm shocked that even tho the Lexus had the bigger engine and sport package it cost less than a turbo 4 all wheel drive ATS. $47 for a four cylinder, yikes.
wooow you sneaky Autoguide you... the previous video mistakenly had the ATS at 43mpg on the highway.
Sometimes even more, the 20T gets great gas mileage. I know, I have one.
ATS is extremely handsome, and Lexus is one ugly monster. Now inside, i would argue the other way, Lexus got the interior figured out!
I pick the ATS
ATS for me
Great video as always
Cursed cadillac, plus the infiniti q50 is the most dynamic in the class, and it's faster than the bmw 3 series (at least in hybrid form where it has 360 horsepower).
At 7:48 notice a corvette turning left on a track with blinkers! That's hilarious.
the Lexus looks like a car fish
wood trim looks cheap, don't judge the silver bro
This is apples and oranges comparison... Yes I know they admitted this at the start of the video. They should have compared more comparable models. 6 cyl. vs. 6 cyl. they would have been much closer and maybe the Caddy would have had the better time.
I like the ATS. The Lexus looks too desperate for attention...
Sean Mangubat ATS isn't reliable and it's more expensive, not to mention the Lexus looks way better.
I really like the IS's design. It's up to people's ugly eyesight with mainstream tastes to not appreciate this car.
lexus is less expensive than ats and is a all around better vehicle. that's the bottom line.
I don't even have to watch the video to know that Lexus is the better car.
strange comparison.
Lexus need to learn from Cadillac which is state of the art design but what can you expect from a brand that is owed by Toyota, a company known for bland and boring design
Not to even mention copycat, copycat, copycat.
Love the Lexus better👈🏾🙄
So these guys not only compared the weaker ATS model to the upgraded Lexus, they put the fatter guy in the smaller engine on a 90+ degree hot day? Yikes! How much did Lexus pay you for this "fair" review?
Lexus is by far better than the caddilac. The lexus' spindle grill brings out a unjque and bold design to the is350! The cadillac just looks like shit in design, interior and performance! Poor western engineering of the cadillac :( Long live Lexus!
awesome _17 Poor western spelling
EGGINFOOLS what do you mean?
awesome _17 You said poor western engineering. I said poor western spelling on your part. We all make mistakes.
lexus has dramatically changdd their styling design over the past decade. look at an e46 3 series in 2001 and a lexus is300. the is300 looks so dated
To be successful in broadcasting you have to look the part...looking like your mom dressed you is not cool......colour correcting is also necessary
Hahahahah!!!!! Damn Barry!! Coming with the fire!!
ATS and IS350 are not even in the same segment, why compare the two? maybe the IS250 and ATS are more realistic.
