Hi Guys, welcome back to my channel! Many people ask me what my life as a pilot looks like. Holidays, off days, rosters and the different operations are questions I receive on a daily basis. I hope this video gives you more insight into the life of a pilot. Have a nice day! :)
Depending on the airline, pilots have different terms and conditions when it comes to rosters and off days. At my previous company, I had a fixed 5 days on and 4 days off roster and because of that my schedule was known months and even years in advance. Every week I had the same flights so I basically knew what was going to happen and where I would end up at the end of the day, which was usually: at my home base.

@@iscreamfitness why? None of Ryanair's >200 737s have killed anyone. And as for the 737 max, 650000 flights were also trouble free. The other 2 had incompetent pilots, which Ryanair is to stingy to afford.

Good video. My wife is a FA and prefers long haul flights because she has less turns. Most of her trips are 3 days but it can vary. She normally flies 80 to 100 hours per month and during the Summer it is over 100 hours per month.

So BA's planes use SpeedbirdX (or in the case of Concorde, ConcordeX) where X is the plane's number? Eg. Jetstar 700?
Thank you for this video DutchPilotGirl! I'm young on my path to aviation and becoming a commercial pilot is under a few other options on my Jobs for Pilots list. This video has helped confirm that I'd rather not be a commercial pilot (at least not straight away) and has risen business/executive plane pilot higher on my list (amidst storm, experimental and stunt pilot!)

Flying any of these jets seems pretty complicated. My hat's off to all the pilots out there who have mastered all the details of flying such a plane. You all are quite amazing!

Interesting rosters Michelle, when you are in transport the hours can vary and of course you work weekends too.

Hi I’m 12 years old 1 year ago I flew a Cessna 172 plane and I knew straight away I wanted to be a pilot 👩✈️ just before Christmas of 2018 I had my first real flying lesson I was flying a Cessna 172 my stepdad used to be a pilot but lost his licence because he was color blind he didn’t come up in the plane with me but my best friend and my mom did I’m going to be getting a flying lesson ever month till i get my junior piloting licence and keep having them till I’m a fully qualified pilot for the flying lesson I was sitting in the pilots seat 💺 and the person who was teaching me was in the co pilot seat he let me take off and fly for the rest of the flight once we reached our designated air space he also let me land the plane and as a test he put his phone on the dash board and told me I couldn’t let it fall I passed the test and the phone didn’t fall
You are my roll model and I wish I would be able to talk to you in person I’m from Ireland 🇮🇪 after watching this video you have a subscriber,a friend and maybe one day a co worker !!!!!!

Although this comment is a year after the original post it's nice to see someone with positive enthusiasm for aviation. I too share an enthusiasm for aviation but I'm strictly a flight sim pilot as I enjoy it as a hobby. (My favourite pc plane is the B737-800) Happy landings and fly safe 🛫✈🛬

I am Francis, an aspiring pilot based here in Malta, Europe. I am hoping you could help me out and answer some of my questions. So, I am a filipino citizen currently residing and working here in Malta as an IT, and planning to start my Ground School with European Pilot Academy(Malta) on a modular setup. I have been saving up but my concern is, do you have an idea if european airlines out there will be hiring Third Country nationals that have finished up flight school up until CPL level here in Europe? Do you think I will have a chance to be hired by airlines here across EU not just malta, although I am a third-country National? Currently I hold a work permit and residence to be able to legally reside in Malta. Hope you could help me out answer my questions :)

What roster pays better?
Too many variables, Airline, short haul, long haul, cargo, charters. Comes down to lifestyle choice & seniority but obviously the more hours you fly the more pay unless you work for Floyd Mayweather or Lewis Hamilton
