Everyone else says it's a secret location, not you, full info, total respect, fathers with young children, will thank you, the future of fishing is helped by your lnformation. Thank you.. 😊😊🏴🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Thanks for that Albert - I can't fish these locations daily, so why not inform others about them and let them catch there. There are plenty of other places I fish and have yet to cover.
Brilliant video again sir, terrific rays , lovely mark, even with a bit of rock climbing ! Pleasure to watch as always. thank you for your efforts 🙏🏽🎣🎣
Good afternoon Well done , the Ray's were a little thin on the ground this year so nice to see ... but a little heads up there a codling around deal warmer beaches..thank you
Great video lovely to see, our patch being finished 👍 At certain times when there's been calm for 4 days or so, the water becomes very clear, and snorkeling around those rocks are sizable mullet, caught on bread, along with sizable bass not to far from the rocks on rag ... if ever you get a chance .. keep up the great videos. 👍
Thanks for the info Danny! I do cast close to the rocks on occasion, but have yet to get any interest there. I used to catch quite of lot of sizeable, but not huge bass, chucking crab to the end of the wooden groynes, when they were present.
Again, another enjoyable video from you ... But every time I watch you in action ... The song ...' I'm a soul (sole) man' comes to mind ... And I can't stop singing it while I watch ... Which is no bad thing ☺️ 👍 By the way, your videographer does a splendid job ...
Thanks John - yes, its about time I had a few sessions specifically targeting soles, which are my favourite species. By the way, I do all the video work - filming and editing.
As a newcomer to beach fishing, when you are using the 20lb & 30lb Braid, I take it you use a shockleader with those set ups. Only ever coarse/lure fished so beach set ups with Braid can be a bit baffling. Great vids by the way, in areas I’m looking to fish.
Yes - a mono leader; normally about 35lb for 20lb braid and 50lb for 30lb braid - go thicker and you tend to get wind knots. Some use 80lb or 100lb braid for a shock leader and if I'm using 50lb+ braid mainline, I often don't use a leader at all.
Great video good session too👍 Live not far up the Thames from there, on Canvey Island. Weve had bass, few small smoothhounds and the odd small ray (along with dogfish lol) through the summer this year as well as last year. Autumn and into the winter has been just a whiting fest for the last few years, but perhaps the ol' 7 yr cycles are coming around again and some unicorns may return to the estuary 🤞🤞
Thanks for that - interesting comment about the 7 yr cycles. Will be fishing Canvey more - its 'up the road' from me and I should give it far more attention.
Hello Mick. Lovely video. A pity the middle session wasn't so good but you can't always "bag up" and at least you didn't blank. I know some people think that Thornback Rays are ugly, prehistoric looking fish but personally I think they're "interesting" looking and they have such great eyes.....and a mouth that can crack a Brazil nut! 3 sessions - two in early summer and one in high summer yet hardly anyone on the beach. I just don't understand. Keep safe. Cheers. Ken
If a martian were to only be able to tune into your videos he would think this planet one of the most gentle accomplished civilisations. Ha ha.Good video as usual.Cheers Matey
Thanks for that Allan - I was thinking about getting myself covered in tattoos, shaking the camera about, swearing on film and not showing locations or any fish caught, but you've changed my mind now!
Awesome again the first ray i caught i put a finger in its mouth ( i did not do it again)do u ever use pout 4 bait?granddaughter & I plan 2 fish marina around boat moorings 4 anything going weather permitting. Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick
Yes, not a good idea Nick - rays are good at crushing bait and fingers! I recently tried pout on Chesil, when I brought one back which had a large chunk missing. I got bites, but couldn't hit them (will be in a future vid) and probably from strap congers or cuttlefish. I've caught plenty of good bass on pout casting in to the gutter at a number of venues, but usually at night.

Great watch. The way you clambered over the rocks I reckon you've got some mountain goat in your gene's 🐐🎣
Thanks Rob - a death wish in me more like!
