Class of 2024 here...I guess I'm early lol, but lowkey I am terrified; I am already looking up a lot about colleges, and I think what I'm most terrified of is not having enough accomplishments/extracirriculars and not having hard enough classes. Two of my schools I really want to go to are Minerva or Cornell, but I don't have any AP classes, so I'm just kinda terrified.

I used to be like that as well, but it CANT happen JUNIOR YEAR. Learning from experience, it's better to prioritize you're health, trust me. You can't be having mental breakdowns right before AP exams, or SAT/ACTs. So, you have to make the decision to either learn how to time prioritize and organize you're schedule into a manageable one, OR learn you're personal limitations and don't push yourself so hard you burn out . This is the year to be consistent.
But, and I know this is hard, but don't over stress yourself. One year DOES NOT define you. There is more to life than a year in HS and you're self worth is more important than your grades.

I disagree with a lot of this advice.
11th grade is HARD. Unless you are super human, it's not going to be easy. So don't make your life harder than it needs to be. Yes, you are allowed to be involved, but you don't need to do everything. You CAN'T do everything and still be healthy/happy. Prioritize your time on whatever is most important to you, be it your grades, an extra curricular, or a job/volunteering. (And speaking from personal experience, it is OKAY if your priority is not school, as mine isn't.) Just do your best.
Leah Wilton sweet,nobody sayed it was easy. But,she is giving advice to make easier. And no,you don't need to be a superman to be easy. You just need to calm the fuck down and work hard. And I say that for your own good. Take care of yourself
Yes but for those focused on pursuing education and who are serious this advice is extremely helpful. There’s a balance and it’s one thing to prioritize happiness and one thing to buckle down and not slack off just because you don’t feel good about learning ;)
know what I agrew with you. junoir year I was about to drop out of school because it was getting very hective and hard. I am a senoir now but yes junoir year is a very hard year. but if your one of those people that are very veryy smart and always maintained all A's and B's than junoir year will be no promblem for you. I cheated a lot junoir year.

Act or SAT plan when you want to take the practice and the actual test, register early and work on practice into weekly workload.
Narrow down your college choices and check the requirements.
Apply to scholarships (make it a goal to apply to at least 3 each month)
Check your habits, this is not the time to procrastinate bc the workload will snowball.
Volunteer hours!!
Greisy H where do you apply for scholarships? And is it late to join 2-3 more extracurriculars as an incoming junior? I did only 1 for my freshman and sophmore year. And if you dont mind me asking, whats a good amount of volunteering hours? Sorry for all the questions im going to be a junior in a couple of weeks
cp 16002 sign up for fastweb scholarships, and unigo, it helps you customize the scholarships you're eligible for and sends you notifications. My school requires 40 hours and That's based on what some collges look for. (Make sure you volunteer doing things you truly feel know will make a difference *lets.give on instagram offers oppurtunities* and continue the activities you've been doing. Prioritize the things that will give you the highest return. Like speech and debate can help you develop skills that will help you in the long term no matter what you choose to study (that was an example)

ughhh i wish i had been able to see this when i was going to junior year. junior year was really stressful for me, especially with keeping up with my grades at the same time as studying for SAT/ACT. My worst experience was when i had to take my chemistry and Spanish midterms on the same day, and i stayed up the night before studying like crazy, all the way until 3 AM. I woke up 3 hours later physically and mentally drained. I had to call the school to tell them I needed to come in late to take my test because i couldn't take my test the state i was in. definitely take care of your health above all junior year, you need it to get thru.
