    Where can i learn more about espresso machine? if machine turn on & the pressure gauge goes up to 15bars before it slowly come down 9 bars. How can i set it not goes to 15 bars. Just want max up to 12 bars? Is it this overpressure valve adjustment?

      Hi d, yes max system pressure on machines is controlled by an OPV on vibration pump machines and by a bypass setting on the pump of machines with rotary pumps.

    20 seconds in and his words say mine is bad as it hisses when warming up. Rancilio S27. I have to open the steam wand when it heats up from cold to get it to build pressure otherwise it builds false pressure. I leave it on 7/24. Would love to set it on a timer so it can be shut off from 4 or 5 pm until 7 am and save that 1500w of energy and home heating during summer months. Looks like I'll be ordering a replacement. Thanks for these videos.

    Have just stripped an descaled machine, an rebuilt. I now have steam coming out pressure relief an vacuum relief, an it won't build any pressure. Proded the vacuum relief but won't seal.

    I’ve got an Expobar Lever purchased new in 2007 or 2008, I can’t remember which. It’s been solid but definitely needs a little maintenance after 11 or 12 years of daily use. My pressure meter is stuck in the green range when the machine is off, and the pressure relief valve seems like it’s stuck open. Looking forward to doing some fixes, thanks for the video.

    whats the difference between vacuum relief valve and pressure relief valve?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 роки тому +1

      Hi DB, Thanks for the question. Vacuum relief is open when temp in boiler is below boiling point and closed when above. Pressure relief opens to release pressure if boiler gets too hot.

    Hi Todd I have a problem about my new bought Expobar E61(dual boiler,PID,Rotate Pump):
    When steam pressure reach 1.3 bar,the "safty valve" will leak a little steam.(I am not sure it call "safty valve" or not?but it near "vacuum relief valve" i am sure.) Is it normal for new Expobar E61 machine?I ask seller,they said Original recommend to set steam pressure to 1.1 bar.But I search internet,many people recommend to set 1.3 bar.
    Thank you very much.

    I have a problem ,,, I have a type of tip like the second one ,,, my issue that is leaking water while the machine is off!! ,,, I have a direct water line going into my machine ,,, shouldn't the water block it?? ,,, and how the water goes all the way up in the steaming boiler??? where is the steam area?? when I open the machine and it's ready it gives me water with the steam too!! shouldn't be a dry steam as I know??

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 роки тому

      Hi AA, Can't say for sure but sounds like your boiler is over filling. The boiler in an HX machine or steam/service boiler in dual boiler machine (not sure which you have) should never fill completely with water to the point water comes out of the vacuum relief valve or steam wand. If water leaking when the machine is off it could be water from your direct connection is getting by solenoid valve that should be stopping it.

      @@Wholelattelovepage hi, thanks for the fast respond ,,, I have a double boiler machine ,,, my issue with the steam boiler ,,, it leaks from the top from that valve ,,, I opened the valve and looked at the both pieces they still new and it good shape. I want to mention that I put the water line almost close so it goes soft to the machine without the high pressure ,,, do you thing this is the reason?? it's going slow so it doesn't push the valve??
      the reason that I soften the water pressure because I have water coming with the steam?? I want a dry steam and I thought this is because my boiler is over filled??
      what makes the boiler to be over filled??

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  6 років тому

      Hi QP, If your machine is not holding pressure in the steam boiler but otherwise operates normally then you may have a vacuum relief valve issue. You can try cleaning or replacing the valve as shown in the video.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  6 років тому +1

      Hi TE, Are you certain your machine is reaching full temp? Water in boiler must be above 100C/212F in order for steam to be created which closes the valve.

    Hi Whole Latte Love, 2 questions. What is the part number or size of the o-ring? I have not been able to find the exact one, right now I just used a generic one that is a little too thick. Does the job, no more hissing, but would love to buy the right part. Question 2 is after replacing the o-ring my brew pressure gauge now reaches pressure but the needle starts to shake around the 9-10 bar pressure while extracting. What is causing the needle to fluctuate like this?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 роки тому

      Hi Natasha, Thanks for the questions. I do not have a specific part number for the o-ring. They are fairly generic so if what you have is working there really is no reason to replace. Some types of vacuum relief valves do not use one. Shaking brew pressure gauge needle is not out of the ordinary especially if your machine uses a vibration pump.

  • @RobFisherUK

    What do you think about using this to get access to the boiler for descaling? My Expobar dual boiler has a vibration pump and it takes forever to flush enough water through it. I'm currently half-way through attempting to do it via this hole. It was very hard to get the valve off as it was so tight and I was concerned I was putting forces on the pipe beneath the boiler, which seems to be the main thing holding it in place. But now that's done I know the diameter of the hole and I can get some plastic tubing to siphon out water. Also perhaps one of those USB endoscopes to inspect the inside.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  5 років тому +1

      Hi Rob, Thanks for the question. You could use the hole for access as you describe. Another way to turn over water in the steam boiler is to heat the machine up to operating temperature then turn the power off to the machine. Open the hot water tap and pressure in the steam boiler will push the water out without refilling as the power is off.

    • @RobFisherUK
      @RobFisherUK 5 років тому

      @@Wholelattelovepage thanks for that. I had been thinking that draining through the tap with power off was not entirely draining the boiler, because it seems to take a few cycles to get out all the descaling solution. I've also been struggling with blue water (I think some reaction involving copper has caused this) and now very cloudy water. At the very least I can get a camera in there and see what I can learn; this video has been very useful for that. The brew boiler also takes a long time to flush through but I haven't had the other problems, at least.

      @@Wholelattelovepage heh, I was doing something and noticed a problem with this valve. Looked up the repair and found this video again, then saw my own comment! My machine must be nearly 10 years old now. [edit: looked it up; it's 7, still...] I love how maintainable they are.
      fwiw descaling through this hole works well, and for the brew boiler using the temperature probe hole (I had to replace the probe at some point and figured that out).
