Hi Meghan from the UK. Losing a parent early in life can result in risk taking behaviours later on. It’s destructive to everyone around them and very sad. 😢
I believe instead he had Attention Deficit Disorder. It leads to failure and bad decision making. One is not more prone to risk taking as much as its simply having ADD.
I was a young woman training to be a pilot at the time of their plane crash and can remember vividly just how crazy I thought he was for flying out that night. Especially because there were 2 other souls on board that he was ultimately responsible for. Those poor parents lost 2 daughters that night! I never would have flown in those conditions, and at the time, I apparently had a lot more training and hours under my belt than he did, because unlike John, I did have my instrument rating and was working on my multi engine.
@@TJ-um8ceNot that he didn’t care, but his arrogance and know-it-all attitude was his downfall. How dare he not listen to the more experienced, his flight-trainers and other professionals who knew more, as it was said that he didn’t have enough airtime, and was told not to fly by the above professionals, as much as using his common sense, which should’ve told him with less training, do not fly in the eve….Sorry that his wife wanted to “support “ him, instead of refusing to go, AND taking her beloved sister with her….Their parents lost TWO daughters.
Yes that story never happened because he went underground the plane was crashed without him his wife and his sister-in-law on it research QRS chips Rose law firm Hillary Clinton. The three went into witness protection. Although JFK Jr wasn't a perfect man he's not how Megan is portraying him God help Megan
I was a pilot (female)....I know that the tragic death of JFK Jr.'s wife and her sister was due to his arrogance. He was cocky, he had very little training, certainly did not have an Instrument Rating (which is difficult to achieve for the smartest of individuals), for him to take on the flight he did was utterly crazy. RIP, a terrible death for all of them. I find it very disgusting, however. How these rich and famous people, who are so entitled and spoon-fed, that they literally believe they are above all of this.
He had twice the hours required to obtain his pilot’s license. You have no idea what you speak of. Did you know him or his family personally? Let people speak and get truth out that do.
I’m not saying the author isn’t telling the truth. But her disdain for the Kennedys and how much she enjoys saying negative things about JFK jr is painfully obvious
Their mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the estate of JFK and won making her a couple of million richer! I hope she donated that money to charity! Or created a foundation to honor her two daughters!
How did the author of the book know what really happened that fateful day when she wasn’t there! Everything is based on hearsay! Not reliable when her sources are questionable!
My daughter died by her husband. I always knew he was dangerous. Her, Ashley's dad and I were on Fox News with Megyn Kelly for a second. Mothers know when these men are dangerous.
The truth about JFK Jr. reminds me a lot of Prince Harry. Both were reckless, not as bright as portrayed to the public, not good boyfriends, never told no growing up, and immature for their years.
Umm, not the same. Prince Harry served his country, married a commoner who he loves, represented wounded soldiers by starting The Invictus games, and is a doting father of two kids. You are probably American and clueless about anything other than America.
JFK Jr was an amazing young man. I really cannot believe that anyone could put down someone who is dead and can’t speak for themselves, but also who was such a Great beautiful human being!!! 🙏♥️
Oh, do stop clutching your pearls. Did you know him privately to know how bloody amazing he was? Probably not, eh? So what if he is dead. Hitler is dead, doesn’t stop the world from judging him. It’s completely unhealthy to put dead people on a pedestal. JFK jr., Diana,… doesn’t matter. They were flawed humans just like the rest of us. The truth is always better than some unrealistic fantasy.
He had IFR training, and flew this route many times, his initial mistake which then cascade toward the crash was tuning his radio to the wrong frequency, so when he was supposed to hear from the airport he was heading to, and wasn’t getting anything, panic probably started setting in because he was starting to head over the dark Atlantic, a mistake anyone could make even with experience, now maybe there was some “get-there-itis” going on, again anyone with any experience level could get, obviously more experience minimizes this but it still happens to experienced pilots.
He was so handsome. I cried when I found out and immediately started writing a poem about him. I'm not even a writer. I sent it to the Kennedy family and they replied with a sweet thank you note. ❤
That night I was in Hartford CT, 50 miles from Long Island Sound. There was such haze in the air you could’ve cut it with a knife. The worst I’ve ever seen. No private pilot could’ve gotten thru it without instruments.
I was on the Vineyard when it happened. We were leaving that morning when it was all over the news. I have never seen anything like the mob of reporters at Woods Hole trying to get on the island. It was terrifying - the family that was supposed to be renting my friends house that week ended up selling their ferry reservation for big bucks to some foreign news station.
I was 14 years old and in... Japan as an exchange student. My host mother pointed to his picture in a newspaper but I didn't understand what she was getting at. I bought a Time magazine from a train station a few days later. So weird to be watching something major in America happening, but from the other side of the world. I can't believe it's been 25 years.
My brother was an intern for Senator Ted Kennedy & he went out of his way for my brother. Wrote him a letter of recommendation for grad school & they kept in touch until he passed away. I still remember the day he came home telling us politics wasn’t for him but didn’t know how to tell the senator! My dad being the way he is told my brother- just be honest! My brother went to the senator the next day & talked to him & he wrote him a glowing recommendation! I know it’s not JFKjr but honestly I actually heard rumors about Teddy Kennedy as well- but when my brother introduced him to our family & we had the honor of meeting him SEVERAL TIMES he was very kind to ALL OF US - and we are no body special! My brother is no one special. He never went on to have a famous career, nor did he ever work for the senator in any way again. We were actually taken by surprise by his kindness at recommendation that he wrote & he told my mother my brother and was a hard worker- my mother I think like many admired the Kennedy’s- so when my brother began got an internship with Teddy Kennedy she was excited! I can’t speak for JFKjr but Teddy- he was absolutely nothing but kind to us - we met with him several times. Again he did not have to be at all - we were no one to him.
I came to understand some years ago after I heard more information about the crash. It was clearly pilot error. But hearing this it makes it more clear why they felt compelled to do it. He was clearly a reckless individual who took undue risks. It’s a shame he had to endanger others to do so.
They are all like that. His father was advised to stay away from Dallas where anti Kennedy sentiment was strong. He rode in an open limousine beneath thousands of open windows. His uncle went driving drunk at night with a single female. The "Kennedy curse" is nothing more than recklessness and risk taking.
JFK, Jr. was dyslexic. He wasn’t stupid. He needed more time than allotted for the Bar Exam. My husband spent time in Hyannis as his secret service agent. He was a bright, inquisitive child.
I’m glad you posted this. I think at this point to sell a book about JFK jr it would have to be quite salacious in order to be noticed. I’d always heard that JFK jr was a polite man.
I believe he had ADHD…goes along with dyslexia! I do not think he was stupid. My son has ADD and when he is not on his meds his grades are terrible and straight A’s when he on it. He also makes poor choices when he is off his meds.
@@parischatelet I wholeheartedly agree! I've always heard that he was thoughtful and kind.... not arrogant. I actually met Christina while she was dating John. She was very happy and very much in love!
I don't feel anyone should try to judge his thinking. No doubt frustration and pressure because his wife was making them late. He had also been pressured by his wife's sister that the 3 of them attend the event. My feeling is it all stemmed from his wife's being very late, having a pedicure that was said she had the salon redo 3x, as they waited. I don't see that as arrogant or reckless. My guess is that stress was the primary factor in his irrational thinking.
Yes, he was irresponsible, but the women had a choice and were equally responsible going on that plane knowing how he was and with the past almost-accidents fresh in mind.
In the 80s I was a maitre d' of a restaurant on 42nd St that was in a building that Jackie owned, and so she came to dinner there often. Her son would often meet her for dinner and she would frequently tell me that she worried about him all the time because he rode his bicycle around Manhattan - I also got around Manhattan on a bicycle, it was just a little dangerous but I told her there was no reason to worry and I'm certain she gave my advice no consideration at all. When I told my mother that Jackie reminded me of her she was unfazed, probably because they were both moms. Jackie and her son were both very nice, unpretentious people. Ms. Callahan has got to sell her book so everything she says or writes should be taken with a grain of salt.
Know a retired flight instructor who said JFK, Jr. had a few hundred hours on his logbook, and that’s when people get overconfident. He thought he knew some shit. He sure didn’t know IFR well enough not to get himself and 2 passengers killed.
Exactly correct. Having money does not mean you fly. People don’t understand that you can encounter IFR in visual conditions. No visible horizon means you need instrumentation. Perfectly good airplane flown into the water. Four dead due to arrogance.
It wasn't IFR. He actually had around 20 hours of instrument flying with a very competent instructor and was in a very well equipped airplane with a good autopilot. All he had to do to save himself was engage the autopilot.
He did not have the experience to fly by instruments. He took off in weather that any seasoned pilot would have avoided. He lost his bearings and did not trust his instruments and went into a “dead man’s spiral”, no one can recover from that. Arrogance/Pride is the Kennedy curse.
He was so gorgeous I bumped into him on my rollerblades in central park NYC. He was super sexy too. Too bad he was in such turmoil and trauma from and by his father's assignation. Very unfortunate risk taker.
Instrument training or not was irrelevant to what happened that night. The problem that night was he was on the wrong radio frequency. That is the most important factor in the accident.
Exactly. They are just sensationalizing his death. Leave the Kennedys alone. He liked adventure. Everything this lady is saying is to sell the book. So sad.
"do we really know what was on his mind!?" No, we do not. That is why comment columns exist. If we could not give our opinion of what was on the mind of anyone who has passed, there would be little history and no biographies.

My aunt lived in Greenwich from late 70s to early 90s and had heard he was a reckless man. I remember her saying Jackie's one request of him before she died was that he didn't get his pilot's license.
And here again, why did these two women get on that plane with him as a pilot? Didn't they know him enough by then? It's absurd. I repeat, it's not just men who need to take responsibility for their actions, women do too. Not all in life is about money and power for goodness sake!
I agree with that about the wife. The sister probably didn’t understand well enough to not get in the plane with them. She probably trusted that because her sister was going with him, it must’ve been ok.

I remember watching the news coverage of JFK jr's death on CBS and someone at the anchor desk actually said, " I don't know if we can survive this as a country." I could understand someone saying that after JFK was killed, but Jr was just a magazine editor.
I’m an air traffic controller and I can say that he wouldn’t be talking to ground control in the air…nor would the other pilot, so just a little questionable that this lady may have other facts wrong as well
Having worked for private families, I can attest to all that….the life behind closed doors is so different. These people don’t understand no, or the minutiae that most all of us go through.
You seem like you have such a vendetta against RFK Junior, running as presidential candidate that you keep running these negative stories with his name in it (Kennedy) and you can definitely tell anytime you interview him. What is your deal; What do you have against him? It seems so personal for you, and really rubs me the wrong way. 🤷♀️

I agree. Who does she think she is. I'll tell her. A catty nasty beotch. Who isn't coming up with anything new. Most of this has been written about before. The kayaking response may have been a way of lightening up the situation. It doesn't necessarily mean what owl eyes things it means.
I went to college with Carolyn Bessette. She was always dating the most high profile athlete or kid of a prestigious family. Seemed to be determined to seek a kind of fame by association. Very very social person , party- girl type.
I've always heard very nice comments about how normal and polite he was. That's the feeling I've always had. I wonder where this woman got her info from.
I just hate that there are people out there who make excuses for him! 1. He didn't register his flight plan 2. He refused the offer of a qualified pilot to fly *with him* that night 3. He had his radio set to the wrong frequency 4. He was not qualified to fly via instruments alone, i.e. he needed landmarks & daylight to guide him 5. Never formally acknowledged but he probably had ADHD which made him impatient, reckless & didn't follow through with instructions
This sure sounds like mean-spirited gossip. Rejoicing in the fact that a man perished so that, in her opinion, he would never be near power seems over the top.
Why are we led to believe that JFK jr's wife was innocent and virtuous..she may have gotten a "booby prize" but don't act like greed or superficiality didn't play a big part in it
The son of Caroline Kennedy is now the last ditch effort for young-unsuspecting girls wanting to marry into that family. He has very similar behaviour & weirdness to JFK Jr.
IMO - Years ago it was common knowledge that the Kennedy men were philanderers, and very dangerous people who lived recklessly. The problem was that they often took others down with them.
His obsession with danger is not odd. Many men are. Think extreme sports. Plus his father’s assassination made him hyper aware of death at a very young age.
Attacking RFK makes sense. Otherwise, it would be as irrelevant as writing a stink piece about Margaret Truman's singing performance, or dinging Chip Carter for smoking pot.

I'm a guy and I thought John Kennedy was flawlessly handsome, well-built and personable. Had he lived, I do believe that if he wanted it, he would have become the President of the U.S. He was like a male Princess Diana without the scandal. I do not believe he had a "death wish," he was what they call a "thrill-seeker." He had a great sense of humor. But like his father, he was reckless. John's fatal flaw was hubris. James Patterson wrote a quick read called “The House of Kennedy”. Does a great job of showing how this celebrated American family is/was a cesspool in every generation. Jr’s dad was the worst.
The general consensus in aviation is that he died in a “graveyard spiral”. Without going into detail it basically means a pilot not believing what his instruments are telling him.

A private pilot friend of mine said to me: "Even a rookie pilot would never have even taken off that night in that foggy weather."

Just say it. She was a gold digger.
A social climber. Married him for money and status.
I've always heard very nice comments about how normal and polite he was. That's the feeling I've always had. I wonder where this woman got her info from.
For those of you who do not fly, what he did was so stupid on such a basic level that it is hard to overstate.
It is if this is indeed how it all happened...
@@mercedesbeard6974 Exactly!
Was he suicidal and murderous
@@hannanolan8140 Wrong
I just hate that there are people out there who make excuses for him! 1. He didn't register his flight plan
2. He refused the offer of a qualified pilot to fly *with him* that night
3. He had his radio set to the wrong frequency
4. He was not qualified to fly via instruments alone, i.e. he needed landmarks & daylight to guide him
5. Never formally acknowledged but he probably had ADHD which made him impatient, reckless & didn't follow through with instructions
This sure sounds like mean-spirited gossip. Rejoicing in the fact that a man perished so that, in her opinion, he would never be near power seems over the top.
Totally suss. Her way of aggressively driving home the point is super odd.
Agreed. I don't care one way or the other about the Kennedys but this sounds like a hit piece.
Yes, stooping LOW 😬
Why are we led to believe that JFK jr's wife was innocent and virtuous..she may have gotten a "booby prize" but don't act like greed or superficiality didn't play a big part in it
For sure! She and so many other women are so hell bent on joining the Mrs. Kennedy Club that they throw all caution and self respect out the window.
I have seen a video where she in assaulting JFK jr physically.
Exactly!
The son of Caroline Kennedy is now the last ditch effort for young-unsuspecting girls wanting to marry into that family. He has very similar behaviour & weirdness to JFK Jr.
Yep. She was a gold digger
Rich people get bored and can afford to fly into space or do other risky activities. Sometimes not having money is good.
@@cornight881 agree but a million dollars would never convince to even bungee jump. Lol
I just read the prologue of this book and it’s all about viciously attacking RFK jr. it is obviously a political hit piece
Bingo
Yes, and the author looks and (over)acts like a clown.
Attacking RFK makes sense. Otherwise, it would be as irrelevant as writing a stink piece about Margaret Truman's singing performance, or dinging Chip Carter for smoking pot.

JFK Jr PLANE CRASH -
Setting the Record STRAIGH...
FS MaNiA • 2.8M views • 3 years ago
If they were separating why was the wife on the plane with him? I had not heard that before.
Her daughter was using every tactic in the book to marry JRF Jr. Her daughter had major emotional issues. Additionally, she planned on getting him years before she met him! Consuelo Vanderbilt's book, "All that Glitters is not Gold" springs to mind . . .
You don't know that.
@@bbnicks8317 According to author Edward Klein and according to another author, who was not only her boyfriend before John, but afterwards. See "The Other Man" by Michael Bergen (whom Klein quotes in his book, "The Kennedy Curse".
Okay. So, they were both A holes.
She didn't deserve to die at his hands.
@@P_Law_East You are . . . Carolyn and John had separated. She wasn't going to go to Rory's wedding. As Klein said, Lauren Bessette should have stayed out of it. She arranged for Carolyn and John to meet her at a restaurant (seen by many), made them hold hands and got Carolyn to agree to go to Rory's wedding. She even agreed to hitch a ride with them - dropping her off at Martha's Vineyard. So, whose fault was it that the girls died?
Supposedly Carolyn Bessette used “The Rules” to land JFK-a book about getting your man.
All the Kennedy’s lived on the edge, they have a legacy of risky behavior!
true true yes exactly
Yes, but great chance someone messed around with the plane as well. JJ had just announce his run for the Senate and Hillary would not have beat JJ so no presidential run.
Carolyn has lived a respectable life.
Or, they tend to all be intellectually challenged.
Look at kennedy men and women's lives they destroyed
I saw him in person walking his dog on a cloudy beach. He was so beautiful and I didn’t bother him and he was relieved. We both had the same idea, it cloudy and misty so nobody would be on the beach and it was off season.
He was the most beautiful man I ever saw! ❤RIP John and the Bessette sisters.
He killed his wife due to STUPIDITY arrogance negligence
Beauty is worthless
Always check on the inside, the outside does not show their true nature.

I saw him in person once to in an elevator. He was gorgeous. I must say breathtaking listen. The men on here would say the same thing about a beautiful woman all right so he wasn't so bright but he was sure something nice to look at
Brook Shields said after she wouldn't sleep w/him on their first date, he was very rude and refused to speak to her again. Very arrogant and immature.
I would have slept with him and he wouldn’t have to spend a dollar on me.
Hilary did it.
Yep
He was going to beat Hillary in NY race
Nailed it
Absolutely!!!
Absolutely
I'm a guy and I thought John Kennedy was flawlessly handsome, well-built and personable. Had he lived, I do believe that if he wanted it, he would have become the President of the U.S. He was like a male Princess Diana without the scandal. I do not believe he had a "death wish," he was what they call a "thrill-seeker." He had a great sense of humor. But like his father, he was reckless. John's fatal flaw was hubris. His mother Jacqueline was very concerned about this and had a premonition that his flying would end in disaster. She believed he was absent minded, accident-prone, clumsy and never prepared himself much before a challenge.
@user. Your right about what his mother said about him...he was the only person ever to get LOST on a safari in Africa. He was a LOON a DoDo. People were tricked into his circle only to to find nothing between his ears. A GOOD President!!! Well could have been as GOOD as Byedumb I guess
I don't think he had a death wish, either. He most likely believed (on some level, at least) that he was indestructible.
🙄Diana is also another one the media put on a pedestal when she was nothing more than a golddigger.
She came from wealthy aristocracy and was an impressionable teenager and the royal family wanted her.
@@Thaddeus-ml8if
She was 19. He sought her out. Because she was a virgin and didn’t have a past. She was an aristocrat, she was not poor. She was young and gullible, a believer in a fairy tale. She was absolutely not a gold digger.
Megan, my husband is a pilot and has researched much of this. Your guest made some pretty "novice" mistakes regarding the situation surrounding the crash. She needs to be fact-checked by someone with real aviation experience....

But all we could read and hear was how fearless they were...all of the boys and cousins! They were thought that way!

On top of that...Jacky was told once that John Kennedy junior should never fly...that he would loose his life...she warned him of her worries for this ..but he ignored her!

What in particular did he not care for?

I'm the same age as JFK Jr. I know ppl my age who knew him both at Brown and NYU Law. I know many regular people who really liked him. Especially at NYU Law. I met him twice. Cordial. He was a risk taker primarily as a reaction to his mother and upbringing. Also, he was dyslexic at a time when noone talked about dyslexia and as a consequence, his mother got him moved out of St. Davids and into Collegiate. Insofar as Carolyn Bissette, I knew other people who knew her. She had an actual drug problem. And she couldn't handle the media. She liked the glamour but couldn't take the lights.

The NTSB report clearly states he suffered Spacial Disorientation which lead to the demise of the three people onboard.
Brooke Shields mentioned briefly how he treated her just as they were about to date. She dodged a bullet.
She may have been better off with Michael Jackson
Back in 1998-99 I was modeling. I had a shoot with some photographer who worked with a lot of famous people and at the time one of his bigger people that he made famous was an actor by the name of Mitch Bergen. Mitch Bergen was a good looking guy who was on Baywatch for a few years anyway, this photographer and him were close and he told me that JFK Junior‘s wife Carolyn was sleeping with Mitch Bergen the last few years and wanted to leave JFK for Mitch. About a month later the accident happened.
At the time, the press was surprised because JFK Jr was so "cautious". I remember Andrea Mitchell making the comment that JFK Jr was so cautious, but then in the next breath mentioned how he broke his arm recently skiing. The press knows that if one tells the truth on the RICH and FAMOUS you will never get interviews or access to them- goodbye cocktail parties. Same goes for Sports Reporters...

@@geraldsahd3413 Not skiing as it was summer. He was in a motorized glider and crashed into a tree and shattered his ankle. His wife was furious. His cousin Anthony Radziwill, his closest friend, was dying of cancer that summer. John’s wife Carolyn was furious at John for taking such a risk. Sadly, Anthony survived his cousin John. It was a thin and very fragile Anthony who attended John, Carolyn and Lauren’s burial at sea. He died a few weeks later.
He lived on North Moore St in NYC where I saw him. He used to walk around like anyone else, no fanfare. The day he flew the fog was so thick we couldn’t see the skyline from Brooklyn heights. People weren’t taking boats out. It was that bad.

Spatial disorientation. Trusting his senses instead of instruments
