When you realize that Gin Bankai is suitable for almost any kind of situations he's in. Makes you wonder how he would have impact in the TYBW arc if he was still alive.

Gin is the strongest shinigami outside of maybe Yama himself. His bankai is an insta kill on anyone who gets within 8 miles of him and his power level is Aizen/Yama level. He DUMPSTERS Ichigo's Hollowfied Bankai. If it wasn't for Hogyoku nonsense he'd have killed Aizen and would be the hero of the story.
Gin was actually pretty damn OP.
It's probably why he had such few fights. Otherwise, he would have terminated almost anyone he faced.
In a certain sense, you can compare his sword ability to a gun. It literally fires and takes out targets with one shot and from a great distance.

He was a prodigy who graduated the Academy in a year. He and Toshiro were the future leaders of SS if Aizen didn’t plan his plan. But there’s still a question mark about Gin. Did he kill that Shinigami to get Aizen to trust him? Or had he already killed the Shinigami? They woulda been like Shunsui and Ukitaki except more of a rivalry than friendship.

Saint Seiya was mostly popular in South America and Asia. You talk about how no one is talking about SS despite the fact that the only reason bleach gets spoken about is because it was brought back. Even when the bleach anime was canceled SS was dropping new manga, video games, live action and new series so if SS isn't getting spoken about at all, bleach isn't even being thought about. If you want to stick to manga/anime post 95 that is faster than Bleach you got the later parts of JJBA, Digimon, OPM, Battle Network Megaman etc etc @@RooKangaRoo

Gin is one of the more underestimated characters in strength for such a simple bankai he was pushing Ichigo to his limits and forced him to use hollowfication.
Gin's Bankai is a variation of a snake's ability
Gotta say, this fight definitely surprised me. When I initially saw it, I was thinking, “Fuck yeah! Ichigo is finally going to put this snake in his place!”
Then the fight happens and the polar opposite happens. Up until this point, Gin’s power has only been alluded to. He was the original child prodigy before Toshiro and he has had CENTURIES to hone his skills.
Up until this point, any time someone has raised their sword against Gin, he’s never honored them with an actual fight.
Ichigo’s first struggle with Gin was over in seconds because Gin just knocked Ichigo away like he was an arrogant boy child being bitch slapped by his older brother for thinking he could take on someone twice his size.
Then, later when Momo tried to attack Gin, he just finds it humorous and lets Kira handle it because even among the captains, Gin is viewed as exceptional and let’s be frank, Momo is not exceptionally strong among the lieutenants and was only really picked because Aizen knew he could manipulate her.
Then, when Toshiro tries fighting Gin, Gin chooses not to go on the offensive and just toys with the kid because it’s clear that if we use the Yu Yu Hakusho power grading system (Upper S class to Lower E class), Gin is probably middle S class whilst Toshiro is probably lower A class at best (just my estimation) which would mean that the fight could have ended at any point.
Then, it’s revealed that Gin was actually Aizen’s pick as his right hand for his master plan which further hints that Gin must be insanely powerful but still hasn’t showcased a remote fraction. The next few times we see Gin actually do things are quick strikes that instantly take his targets out of the fight, such as when he stabbed Byakuya when he took a hit meant for Rukia and then later Hiyori when she tried attacking Aizen. However, in terms of an actual “fight,” we still don’t see one.
The fact that Yamamoto chose to trap Gin and Tosen along with Aizen further alludes to the fact that as strong as the Espada and the arrancars beneath them are, Aizen clearly picked Gin and Tosen for a reason. Even after Wonderweiss releases Gin, along with Aizen and Tosen, Gin still opts to hang back even as the top 3 Espada, Tosen, and Wonderweiss go up against the remainder of the Soul Society and the Visored. This illustrates that Gin is clearly not just above the arrancars but also is above Tosen, even after Tosen hollowfies. Again, at this point, Gin clearly still views the situation as beneath him. Granted, no one with a brain would argue he didn’t interfere when Yamamoto entered the fight for any reasons other than (1) Yamamoto was practically god tier compared to him so interfering would equal instant incineration and (2) Aizen had created Wonderweiss for the sole purpose of immobilizing Yamamoto.
Then, we have reached this point in the war between Aizen and the Soul Society. All of the Soul Reapers and Visored in Fake Karakura Town are down for the count, except Sasakibe (who never really fights for reasons that are never really elaborated on), Omaeda (who just disappears randomly), Hachi (who isn’t a real fighter anyway), and Unohana (who is still forbidden from fighting). Aizen is locked in a one-sided battle with the only 3 people he warned the Espada not to even attempt to fight (Isshin, Kisuke, and Yoruichi) and Ichigo can only watch as Aizen showcases how futile the struggle against him is at this point. Then, Gin FINALLY, for the first time, actually enters an actual fight and the result?
Ichigo is so far outclassed that it’s not even funny. Ichigo, prior to this fight was able to keep up blow-for-blow with Ulqiorra’s base form and given how Bleach’s power scaling works for Ichigo, Ichigo overcoming that power only made him stronger than point. Ichigo can only defend against Gin due to Gin’s exceptional speed and can’t even get close due to Gin’s Zanpakuto having unmatched speed and reach. Even when Ichigo hollowfies, Gin just effortlessly shrugs it off. Gin may be putting more effort into this conflict than he did with any other enemy up until this point but it’s still pretty clear that he’s still not taking the fight seriously at all.
This fight finally showcases why Gin was Aizen’s right hand man and why Gin was kept out of the fight as long as he was. The Espada were strong but Gin represented a much greater threat due to strength, speed, discipline, and fighting technique. Gin was in control of this fight the entire time and as we find out in his dying moments, was only trying to level up Ichigo for his eventual fight with Aizen.

Ichigo was depressed, full of despair and fear after his Ulquiorra fight. He was mentally in a terrible state. Just compare this fight to his fight with Grimmjow where his mental fortitude is much stronger.

Gin's bankai, 500 times the speed of sound is approx 171,500 meters per a second, which is approx equal to 106.565159 miles per (1 second). That is crazy fast. That is so fast in fact, it's strong enough to deal with most problems in this show.
Gin released his banki and held it until he stabbed aizen that’s why he didn’t need to activate it anymore. He used this as an opportunity to activate it

Gin's Bankai can extend 500x faster than the speed of sound apparently. The speed of sound is roughly 760mph/1235kmh, meaning his Bankai travels at 380,000mph/617,500kmh. Ho-ly!!
And that's the release speed. The retraction speed is actually faster. And Gin can increase the speed with the trust of his arm. Bleach light speed scaling is very solid.

One of the reasons I’ve never really vibed with Jujutsukaisen is because of heavily it seems to borrow from Bleach, at least aesthetically. Rewatching this fight, I can’t but to think that Todo’s power was heavily influenced by Gin’s Bankai. Both are incredibly simple powers, relative to the other powers around them, but because of that simplicity, they are able to control the pace of their fights by forcing them to think which limits their opponents’ brute strength, effectively weakening them without needing to wear them or or do damage first

Gin's power is a massive enigma. He can extent his sword, increase the power of his sword and increase the speed of his sword. But the most confusing thing about his sword are not only the different forms but it can somehow turn his sword into a powerful poison also. My theory is that gin can not only increase the sword beyond its length power and speed but he can change its abilities from poison, lightning, fire and or light. Almost like he is a god, a sword god, with limitless potential like he can reflect, empower, evoc, deconstruct or reconstruct his sword into anything(it isn't limited to his sword, even a small fragmant can be using its power as long as it was attached to the sword)

Although the fact that he can even spray a part of the blade and turn it into poison, I think it's from the fact that his personality was made similar to a snake, because he's also very cunning. He's also very cunning, so he uses poison as his secret weapon by waiting for the right moment. But your theory also sympathizes with me
His Bankai does translate to “God-Killing Spear”
I truly think Gin's power was more akin to Byakuya and Rangiku.. we know his ability is also to momentarily turn his blade into pure dust. (It does so, over 500x faster than the speed of sound)
Unlike Byakuya who directs each fragment of his blade or like Rangiku who controls the mass of ash all at once, Gin's about seems to ignore controlling the fragments individually so he can control the entire blade way faster.
(This is something we see Byakuya and Rangiku do in the series.)
He ignored the possibly of a massive aoe attack for a just godly fast and strong singular attack. Which is something Byakuya finally does in his very last fight.
The difference is, Gin takes it a step further (like a true cunning snake) and in the moment his single attack hits that's when he manipulates a fragment to remain in his targets body.
The reality of his power is still singular. His ability is the ability to deconstruct and reconstruct his blade to any degree as fast as he needs. All through reiatsu manipulation.
Remember, his poison technique doesn't actually poison the opponent. It makes their own soul think that it's poison. He's reconstructing their reiryoku to fight itself.
His zanpakuto power is just that instantaneous reconstruction/deconstruction.
Which is close to Kisuke's power just they operate in opposite manners. Kisuke uses his reiatsu to construct or destroy.
Gin uses his reiryoku to repurpose things to his fitting.
It speaks to his genius, nature, and just how vast his soul was with power. His power is truly a technique that can kill any god, by making them kill themselves.

Gin was testing Ichigo and was giving him a crash course on Battle IQ. He recognized Ichigo could see how his Bankai worked in a very short time, and that's why he called him creepy, because Ichigo is a straight up monster in combat.
Gin was in shikai this whole battle competing with ichigo in bankai with his hollow mask. Just imagine how strong that mf is compared to most of the other captains.

Personally, I like that Ichigo loses A LOT of fights, especially in the Arrancar arc. Let’s count his losses up until the Fullbringer arc (Haven’t watched TYBW so forgive me): Grand Fisher, Byakuya (round 1), Gin (first meeting), Kenpachi (technically a draw but still), Aizen (Soul Society), Yammy (first meeting), Grimmjow (twice consecutively), Ulqiorra (first fight and second fight before transforming into Vasto Lorde), Nnoitora, Gin (depicted above), Aizen (technically a draw).
I like that he loses a lot because it shows that the world of Bleach doesn’t hinge on Ichigo to beat almost every opponent in the anime/manga. Bleach, like Yu Yu Hakusho, has a competent enough ensemble that are able to provide crucial aide where Ichigo fails. Compare this to DBZ once Frieza shows up and you’ll see that the only people who actually win fights on their own are Goku, Vegeta (Cui, Jiece, Android 19, and Pui Pui), Gohan (Spice Boys, Cell Jr.s), Future Trunks (Frieza, Cold, Future 17 and 18, and Future Cell) and Piccolo (Babidi). The other characters (Krillin and Tien mainly) are primarily there for crucial support.
So, at least with Bleach, they give more wins to multiple characters rather than just having the main solo 90% of the villains.

"icHIgo is sO BROKen" is what I hear since TYBW arc, and this fight here is a perfect example of how he's only broken when the plot needs him to me.
Even though Gin said he wasn't holding back, I'm certain he wasn't fighting seriously and, in the end, could Ichigo really have stopped Gin from killing him if Gin really had it in mind to do so? I don't think so.
Ichigo is only powerful when the plot requires it. He get's his ass beat in almost every fight he's in. Think of it:
Ikkaku, bothe fights with Renji, he barely survives against Kenpachi, get's his butt kicked by Byakuya, get's stomped by Grimmjow 3 times before Hueco Mundo and still barely manages to beat Gimmjow, has his ass beat by Tesla before Kenpachi saves him, has to berserk Vosto Lord hollowfication to have any chance against Unlquiorra, and against Gin here, it was never close.
To be fair. It’s revealed that his powers were restricted greatly before the TYBW and during this fight he was having doubts that he could even win against Aizen, let alone Gin.
